John Bonham, one of my favourites who's style and influence can be heard over a whole generation of rock music to follow. It would be nice to have him back for sure. Jeff Buckley and Hendrix also..... and those guys from The Who.

Musicians Who Died in the Last Year - or Through the Years- Who Do you Miss Most ?
by flipper ini think for me in the last year the death of david bowie got to me the most.
not only in the way he handled his demise so classy by even making a song about it and a you tube about dying and sharing it with fans, but just his whole persona i always thought was pretty cool.
plus i enjoyed a good many of his songs.

The song is called "Sorry". Sister Williams looks like she is ready for a serious courtship with a view to marriage.

Born Twice - Die Once .... Born Once - Die Twice
by Perry injesus taught that we must die unto ourselves, and allow the holy spirit to take up residence within us.
some people get saved by simply inviting jesus into their hearts, to be the lord of their life.
this serves as a countering force within the born-again christian to counterbalance the will of the flesh, which is still unsaved in this life and destined for destruction in imitation of our lord himself.. attempting to live the christian life without having this spirit within you is a waste of time at the minimum, and dangerous on the downside.

Born once, twice, three times a lady. Thanks Jesus for being so illusory.
Great thread, I've learned much.

Why Are You Here?
by Believer ini'm wondering why believers remain members of this forum which is clearly hostile to believers.
as one member said, nonbelievers pounce on any semblance of belief like piranhas on prey.
as former jws we should have had our fill of judgmental know-it-alls, but here we are.

Atheists are, in my opinion, even lower in mentality.
I am so low in mentality, it's pure sin. I'm a full blown Jesus and God rejection weapon.
Could you imagine my thoughts? You would be shocked and traumatised if you could read my wicked atheist mind and get just a glimpse of my mentality. You may also become sexually aroused.

slimboyfat joins the Mormons!
by slimboyfat ini know that some people on the board have experience of being mormons, so i would be interested in your feedback.
at church this afternoon it was an uncanny experience.
in the past i've read a lot about mormons, so i thought i was prepared in general for what it would be like.

Nobody can be sure if the Mormons teach any truth from the perspective of a worm.

I find out things about the JW's on this site before anyone in my JW family or work circle. And I've learned a great a deal abouts vast many things from reading on this site, for which I am grateful. Praise lord Simon and the JWD community.
Other than that, I could probably take issue with just about everything you say. You are confusing holding people's ideas to scrutiny with insults.
Let's take your beliefs, for example.
You seem to reject all religion outright and reject the bible as being trustworthy. Where did you find your God? What could be said for certain, about this God? (Don't bother answering I could make some shit up myslef, It's all the same when we are talking faith).
Do you not see that you are making a ridiculous claim, while not giving any effort in offering any evidence in supporting the claim?
Can you see the problem here? Anyone can make up some bullshit story, offer no evidence, label it as "faith" and demand that it be respected..... Now correct me where I am wrong, but that pretty well describes your faith, although you have not explained it very well, besides a few God cliches. Not through lack of trying I am sure, I could imagine it is hard to write on a subject that has been plucked straight from someones rectum.
It just becomes impossible for rational people to respect faith.

When shit gets heated on the Ex-Mormon forums the ultimate slurs to get thrown around usually go something like, "you are acting like a real Mormon!.. you behave like a Mormon bishop bitch!.... What's with the priestly Mormon shit dude!"...... And on and on it goes, it's nasty stuff.
Does anyone know a real dick way to dismiss an ex-scientologist if we don't agree with them?

Bumping this, just to make sure the new ones who are here from JWR have seen it.
Even if we have seen it before, it's worth reviewing again as it helps us endure in this wicked old system of things.

No Reason For JWs To Go To The MIdweek Meeting (CLAM)
by JW_Rogue ineverything that is done at the midweek meeting can now be done at home.
the videos are online, the first talk is scripted, the bible highlights are scripted.
you could get the same experience by just reading and watching the material from your tablet.

I envisage that eventually they will adopt the tried and tested system of mainstream Churches. Hold the main sermon on Sunday for everyone to come and socialize, and drop midweek meetings. Keep the hall open throughout the week, manned by retirees, looping videos, so the lonely and religious zealots have somewhere to go and meet or meditate.
I think this could happen within the next 5-10years. They will have regular assemblies at regional cult complexes at least a few times a year to drill for fear and raise a few dollar$.
I see them cutting to just one meeting a week in an effort to make the religion easier and more appealing and keep inline with more mainstream religious cults (I'm talking about you Mormons). It's hard work trying to make a pseudo Jewish/Christian cult stay viable in this age of information.
