  I gave 3 examples where I’ve seen disciplinary action was handed down, some time later in the discussion you handed out accusations of ‘projection’ against TM3.

  We know moderate elders are everywhere, especially in regards to alcohol.

  I have drank scotch with them after meetings and beers at work with them on meeting days. One thing they were all aware of is presenting themselves as sober always, especially to the conservative elders or MS families.

  This is because the more conservative position is usually favoured in the weakest conscience rules JW world.

  In one of the examples I gave days ago, an elder in my old circuit was going away for a camping trip with a few other couples and families. Loaded the wagon with booze, and was reported in doing so. After an investigation he was stood down as an elder. I gave two other examples of just things I’ve seen.

  Sir82, Cofty and a host of others have given pretty succinct summaries of the topic.

  Maybe take a break for a while, you might start thinking clearly.

  This isn’t a massive scandal, the JWs are a very insignificant group and TM3 a pathetic insignificant man.

  Why worry about losing credibility from a thread like this? Who’s going to lose it? We don’t have any, we are not anything, exJws are less important than current ones.

  Those claiming it’s not an issue sound as fanciful as anyone else. This will be an issue to ex jws and hopefully many current.

  Some of the attempts to play it down are just as speculative and silly.

  If he’s a corporate guy his corporation is based on very conservative values, and this is a PR disaster at the least.

  Buying the same type of grog does not make the most likely explanation gifts.

  I’m looking at my bar right now, about 30+ bottles of various spirits, vodkas, rum, gin etc, a few single malt whiskeys, plenty of cheap rubbish, presented on 3 nice shelves. Some of those bottles are years old, in fact most of them are 2+ yrs old, except the odd few.

  The odd few are the ones I drink, these get bought more often.

  Recently after doing a friend a favour, they kindly bought me two bottles of the same thing because they know it’s what I like to drink.

  It’s not a staple, single malt whiskey or any alcohol for that matter, it’s a luxury. It’s a luxury that Mr Morris cannot afford.

  I would say he cannot afford to be seen spending that much $ on alcohol in public. It’s the life he’s created for himself, he deserves everything he gets.

  His clothing is irrelevant, I couldn’t really give a shit what he wears, fact is he’s actually dressed to code, neat and tidy.

  No laws were broken.

  Are we allowed to possess an inverted liquor bottle dispenser? Can men take half a Ute full of beer for a planned week long camping trip? Can one collect alcohol bottles and have them on display in their own house?

  Yes.. except in the totalitarian world this guy invented, in each of theses scenarios I’ve seen either qualified men lose their appointments, or others like myself put on restrictions.

  Who does AM3 answer to? This is what pisses everyone off.

  I’m glad he was caught on camera and this was plastered on the internet. There is need for sensationalism, it’s exactly what it looks like.

  His scam is run off donations and government tax exemptions and its policies and procedures have been extremely harmful, especially in regards to child abuse. He’s haughty and has a history of vile speech, he gloats about his position and perceived authority.

  Trying to make him out as a corporate executive doing something entirely normal is just as silly as anything I’ve read on here.

  I don’t feel sorry this man, especially while he’s drinking better than most.

  I’m not sure on the percentage of that scotch?.. I’ve known plenty that drink that much or the equivalent of beer or wine daily, 37-40% alcohol liquor. I’ve got some alcoholics in my family, and I’ve worked in construction for 20 years, drinking is like a sport for the low paid blue collar sector.

  Alcohol is also insidious, like any drug. A heroine addict can consume vastly and consistently more than a normal person, I’m sure you understand all this, but for seasoned drinker the first glass of scotch doesn’t touch the sides, you consistently need more to get the buzz.

  The WTS smears people's reputations when they leave. It's what they do. Trying to do the same makes us just like them.

  And when I say "us", I mean, not me.

  If the WTS had a rule against buying liquor, then this would be a story. As it is, it's just insinuation and makes little sense.

  Is the insinuation that someone has a drink problem? It's possible, but expensive liquor? I doubt it.

  It's far more likely that it's gifts or some corporate event.

  If we shout that the sky is falling every time it isn't, people will stop listening. And if we invent things then people who are researching will see it and lose trust.

  There is plenty to criticize the WTS for without inventing things and pushing what is simply click-bait tabloid-style crap.

  I know what your saying, but this is an ex-Jw forum, and stuff like this is far less boring than the usual.

  Don’t be surprised if this shit goes for weeks or months, perhaps hundreds of pages. The people are hungry, let them enjoy their meat.
