Perhaps he felt that the tiger was his god protecting him and then leaving once he was safe, but angry at him for some reason hence the hardship. I did find it a little confusing though, but then so did Pi following every religion he could.

A question on "The Life of PI" movie Warning :if you havent seen it .Don`t read
by smiddy inthis is a question for those who have seen the movie , without disclosing too much in case some inadvertantly see this thread ,does pi represent god ?
other souls represent someone else ,was that also the case with pi ?
i`m going to watch this movie again as i think a second veiwing is in order .. it was impossible not to veiw this bengal tiger as the real thing ,look at the well fed animal at the beginning and the half starved animal in the end .. i thought it was extremely well done visually and if i can say so intellectually .. i welcome your comments on this movie ,.

Was jehovah/yahweh/god the first to commit an abortion?!
by OneDayillBeFree injust caught this in today's watchtower!
while the wtb&ts is going on about all of david's sins and how god was being a "god of love" and showing forgiveness to his servants, (keyword: his= only jehovah's witnesses) i decided to go ahead and start reading the whole story about what really happened.
so then i stumbled upon 2 samuel 12:15&18 .

I'm with OneDay on this, it's a sick and evil parent that causes their child to be sick and suffer several days until death overcomes it.

Hi everybody!
by Pickler inhi everybody.. well, i've been lurking for a few weeks & have made a few posts, so it's time to bravely introduce myself some more.... i was raised in the religion, baptized & then df'd in 1992. i live in sydney and youll be pleased to hear i have survived armageddon (also known as the hottest day on record for sydney 45.6c).. ive never looked at any witness related stuff online, but my son showed me something about the conti case and i was so intrigued!!!!
following links led me to this & other websites..... since then i have spent literally hours on the internet discovering all this information.
so many late nights/early mornings.

Welcome, I know what you mean, it's hard to explain and seems bizarre unless you've been there.

33 %
by Theredeemer inso, my mother in law who is still active went out in service with the group that had the co visit and came back with some very interesting news.
first off, she knows that we are fading and is ok with it and has some doubts herself.
anyhow, she said that the co went off track during the meeting before service and mentioned how we are now allowed to receive up to 33% of blood in a transfusion.

Id like to see it in writing first, sounds like a fading CO to me, lol.
What scriptural basis would they have for 33%, how would you know an anaesthetist had given 33% and not 34%?

Just yelled at my mom today
by trujw insorry to post this but for some reason after a year of not talking i got drunk this morning(yeah i know no lecture) and called my mom and blew up.
i tolded her she was a false prophet and a horriable christian mother who never even came to her grandson's birth by my wife.
my words came out like a river of rage from which i never knew.

Im assuming your relationship with her is not good already, this could have burned the bridge between you, if you want a relationship in the future perhaps you should write her a letter detailing your conclusions and expressing your desire for her to be part of your children's life.

To me it is clear what Silentlambs and Bowen's agenda is, clearly focused on helping victims of abuse. It is a highly emotional subject, and I applaud him and his colleagues for highlighting the issues and continuing to offer support.

Jehovah's Witness Child Molester
by free2beme inmy best man at my wedding, twenty years ago, was someone i always trusted.
he was a friend for fishing, a friend who remained when i left the religion with my wife 15 years ago and although he was a bit issolated.
i kind of trusted him.

And they still say "Find security, peace and comfort in the organisation" whilst they ignore the facts and ignore victims of abuse. These are sad sad stories but in no way isolated.

I am new here and need help...or just a listening ear
by Fallingaway inmy husband and i have two small children, one of which recently became an unbaptised publisher and joined the school.
my husband is an elder and firmly committed to our family and loves me deeply as i love him.
i would like to find a way for all of us to fade away as we have family in the organization that we do not want to lose.

Welcome, I can sympathise with you, I recognise a lot of your story in my life experiences in the 'organisation'. Take your time, never stop learning.
