I really feel for you, what a twisted organisation! If it was me I would phone Bethel and ask them if they're aware of his history, and tell them that you will be contacting the press and seeking legal counsel. How long has he been a ministerial servant? Was he ever spoken to by the police?

Jehovah's Witness whose wife died after refusing blood transfusion is jailed for 13 years over child sex abuse covered up by religion's elders
by ThomasCovenant inhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2400938/jehovahs-witness-wife-died-refusing-blood-transfusion-jailed-13-years-child-sex-abuse-covered-religions-elders.html .
a jehovah's witness who sexually abused a child and then had his wrongdoing covered up by the church has been jailed for 13 years.. gordon leighton, 53, admitted sexually abusing a child when he was confronted with the allegations by church elders at washington, tyne and wear.. the elders knew about the 53-year-old's admissions for three years but refused to co-operate with the criminal investigation, and said what they had heard was confidential.. leighton hit the headlines in the 1990s when his wife yvonne, 28, died after refusing a blood transfusion after childbirth on religious grounds.judge penny moreland said that he had subjected his victim to 'untold damage' as she sentenced him at newcastle crown court today.. the judge said: 'you manipulated her with a combination of affection and attention and violence and threats.
'the defendant was found guilty of two charges of indecency with a child and six of indecent assault after a trial.

Please Share one of your Favourite Quotations
by cofty inhave you ever come across words that resonate with you?
it doesn't have to be a great gem of wisdom, just something that is meaningful to you.. please share, and if you want to, tell us why it's meaningful to you.. here is something that made me nod when i first read it.... .
"fortunate are those who have learned to see, in the wild things of nature, something to be loved, something to be wondered at, something to be reverenced, for they have found the key to a never-failing source of recreation and refreshment".

Over the years different quotations take on different meanings depending on our circumstances
At the moment I like this, from the film Shawshank Redemption : either get busy living or get busy dying.

Satan must have directed me here
by Miss.Fit ini was telling my jw friend about the condi law suit.
the first thing she asked was how did i even hear about it because it was news to her .
( i was 't expecting that reaction.

Welcome Miss.Fit, you are starting to think for yourself.
My abuser was eventually DF'd and then reinstated. I moved out of the area due to terrible reminders of the abuse. I knew when I heard of his behaviour after his reinstatement that he was not repentant, therefore concluded that nothing is directing the JW organisation but men, and men with a couldn't care less agenda at that.
By the way, back on topic, if satan makes you search the internet, how does he control the search engines? I'd like to know as I spend a lot of time optimising my work websites and wonder if it's futile as it's satan that decides and not Google or Bing etc.

How would YOU explain cognitive disonance to a Jehovahs Witness on your doorstep
by smiddy inseriously , in plain simple language that the most thick headed jw would understand.. and what examples would you use.. smiddy.

happy@last
Jonestown is an easy example, their behaviour on their last day was as a result of their thinking and the information they were given, it was the easiest option. It was the wrong one but it was cognitive dissonance that lead to mass murder of children and mass suicide.

Help needed: JC standards/questions for "Drunkenness"
by respectful_observer ini'm hoping those of you in the jwn community may be able to help me out.
an acquaintance (of legal drinking age) may soon be sitting for jc under the charge of "drunkenness".. to those of you who have direct experience either serving on a jc, or being the subject of a jc related to the misuse of alcohol:.
- could you provide a list of questions that were asked of the accused?.
-

Trying to think back to when I was on JCs, I would want to know:
Was this a one off, had they been counselled previuosly, who witnessed them being drunk, what lead to them being drunk, what have they done since to make sure it doesn't happen again?
If it seems a done deal, and they don't want to be DF'd then signs of repentance are vital. This would include steps taken to stop it happening again, being sorry for bringing reproach on god's name, blah blah.

Well I gotta go......
by punkofnice in...i might drop in every now and then but i hope you all enjoy life, escape the watchtower(r) and live prosperous lives.. i can't say i contribute much here anyway (and i'm not attention seeking).. i'm just going to get on with life away from the constant reminder of the mistakes i made being a jw zombie drone.. i guess i'm just going to fade.......rather quickly.. of course i didn't need to make any posts here to disappear but i thought it'd be polite and very british to bid you all a fond farewell.. see you all sometime.....maybe.....maybe not.....maybe....... bye!.
ps.
don't pm me as i won't be checking the pms.. .
