Now where did I put my straight jacket. And I'm throwing out my fizzy sweets. And thanks for reminding me I'm still nuts

Best way to make friends?
by Jen1 inwhat is the best way to make freinds while fading.. i have no friends outside jws.
and if i tell a friendly jw how i feel, it would not be confidential.
i am thinking of joining a day time group, but what!

Aw Jen1, don't worry you're not being shunned here. How about having coffee with neighbours, volunteering time to a good cause, joining a club with a hobby?

IMPATIENT ?
by jonahstourguide inok folks, here is my answer to the question for paragraph 1 page 10 nov 15 2013 study wt.. the question asks " why might we become impatient?".
because a group of chaps that just gave themselves a promotion have been giving us a list of failed.
dates as long as our arms for a hundred years.

Thank you, please answer from the paragraph next time ;-) Simple answer, because JWs put their lives on hold for a pile of BS

Watchtower Society Brooklyn Property and the Olympic Games 2012
by Gorbatchov ini think this could be a topic on it's own, i posted it earlier in a reply:.
one of my relatives in amsterdam has connections with the inner circle (staff) at watchtower hq.
he was told that watchtower was planning moving out of brooklyn decades ago (before 1995).. when the city of new york started bidding for the summer olympics 2012, watchtower made serious plans and made agreements for leasing their buildings for tourist accommodation during the olympics.. from the moment it was known that new york didn't get the olympics in 2012 they started selling their property.. my source is the most reliable, this is absolute true.

Hi, I have read your mom's post and I see a glimmer of hope. Of course I do not know all the details or the people concerned but I do not sense spite in either of your posts, only hurt. Why not arrange for just the 2 of you to meet in a neutral location over a coffee and see if you cannot try to heal the wounds on terms you can both agree on?

Why would a supremely powerful and wise being regard faith as a virtue?
by Island Man inif i were the all-powerful creator of all the universe it would be a very easy thing to prove my existence, requirements and will in an indisputable and unambiguous way.
everyone would know of my existence and requirements without them having to put forth effort to believe based on limited, ambiguous evidence that is highly subject to interpretation.
i would regard faith as a harmful trait that makes one vulnerable to being deceived.

Faith is pretending to know things you don't really know. It is not a virtue.

I would have thought your experiences would ensure you become a good judge of character, and as you can see the creeps vs the nice perhaps you are getting there. I still stand by the fact that you cannot be too trusting, that's happens over time.

It's a sad fact of life, some people will take advantage of ones in a vulnerable position. JWs can be too trusting, Sam I believe you are probably a good judge of character.

There are no set questions, just along the lines of did you do it, who with, are they a JW, are they married, if so have you apologised to their partner, how did it happen, when did it happen, how many times, what will you do to make sure it doesn't happen again, how does it make you feel, have you prayed about it?

Goodbye to all
by abiather ini say goodbye to all of you because of the tremendous pressure from my family members who are jws.. anyhow, i enjoyed my association with you for a short period!
it is part of life, as the bible says: we are all temporary residents here (hebrews 11:13).
this is my favorite scripture that has helped me to remain always balanced and equi-poised, helping me not to be greedy towards things or people expecting from them too much!.

Good luck, hope you can cope with all the nonsense. Can you find a different outlet to help you vent?
