  was it just me or did you also notice the over praising of the authorities? YES! they did a GREAT job!!!!!!!!!!! I only wish my family could have had such a dedicated police force! This whole case strikes me as sensless and IF she had went to the elders for help (as with the sexual abuse cases) and they have ANY RECORD of that what-so-ever and did nothing, it would not surprise me. In the written statement it seemed they distanced themselves right off the bat! Only time will tell on the case, and there may be more here than meets the eye.

  Was the legend about Smurfs being demonic just an urban legend, or was it mentioned in the literature?

  i never heard about the smurfs being evil until i joined the forum.

  but when i look in the volume library, the word doesn't come up.

  i was wondering if anyone ever heard mention of it in the literature--as in, was it an official position?.

  Im sure in some areas the story was different. The way I heard the story was a child had brought a smurf doll to a meeting at the KH, and when jehovahs name was mentioned, the smurf doll jumped up and ran out of the KH! I kid you not! This was back in the 80's, and I had a really hard time swallwoing that one! And a reg pioneer is the one that started it, but if it is subject matter on this forum then others heard this also...........oh well, the gb and wt views on toys are REALLY.....well just not right!

  the girl killed in oregon....found murdered......was killed by a 'brother' in her congregation.. its all hitting the fan in gresham, oregon.

  i really hope this wasn't an affair gone bad.

  they went to the same congregation and lived in the same apartment complex.. yep.....spiritual paradise.. not going to lie...........i'm filled with rage right now..

  ICK! The wt was shocked!??? PLEASE! give me a break already! I will not be shocked if records show that she went to the elders over this person, and tried to get help. Unless of course they distroy records. And how many jw's saw his arrest photo on the news and said "This guy looks familiar, isnt he that irregular attendee we have at our cong? I feel even MORE sorry for the family now!

  I to have a missing but NEVER found family member, very painful indeed! RIP Whitney!

  i am at such a loss for words, i have stared at this screen for about an hour not knowing how to address this.

  i feel for the family of this young woman and any way you slice it, closure or no closure, it is the same.

  i will however say that the said missing person had just went through a disfellowshipping and divorce, and there was a dispute over property.

  I will however say that the said missing person had just went through a disfellowshipping AND divorce, and there was a dispute over property. It did come to light during this time that my family member was NEVER on any said property and therefore left with NOTHING. Within a year of dfing and divorce, had been added to a MISSING PERSON bulletin, and remains there to this day. This whole situation had pulled apart families of JW's and non jw's, and even elders that not only stepped down, but down and out the door! Could there be a coverup? Within the KH?

  I don't want to go in to this to much, as could be figured out by some jehovahs witness stalker. If anyone has similar stories or links to stories, plaese share if possible. Thanks so much, and I will continue to pray for resolve!

  hi nuthouse, rip van, and baba...............thanks for the warm welcome, and everyone! I will have so much food for thought in the days to come, hopefully. Giordana was at a loss for words cuz I have boob in my name! Hee Hee.....has notin to do with em! but it was funny! I am NOT witty! hee hee. So how does this thing work, when I surpass my limited posts, does it knock off my first ones? cuz you people are my newest obsession! laughing........not at you, WITH you! OKayyyyyyy. Had a great day meeting all those I only read about. YES............I was a stalker, but I will never do that again! don't have the org to help me out with that anymore. I am amoung you now!!!!!!!!! and Ziddina and moshe and oh my can't mention everyone! Just sayin thanks..........banter was great!

  PS if anyone thinks I am to full of jokes, this is my theropy........everyone handles this junk thier own way. LOVe you guys, and I like saying so! so there! (laughing)

  hey not sure how to reply to specific people..................thanks Zid for the links. I understand the fading thing but is it the same as.....someone leaves under one name...(dfed)....remarries (a woman) duh, hee hee................ moves away from dfing congregation, then just starts the process all over again as a "new member" like someone that has never studied or associated with jw's like its a new found religion! I guess just wanna know besides fading is there a term for this process? I have heard them mention that jehovah has blessed them so much now! maybe it is working.(shrugging shoulders)

  Thanks Zid. I am sure I will figure this out given some time. I have been out so long! 28 years! I guess why I got on this sight is to learn and just be around others that share that. Since you said to be careful because it was a monitered site I am not sure what to say here as to not affend anyone! It seems so different to read everyones posts, than to be a part of it. I do have a question. If I have a family member that was dfed YEARS ago, went on with life, remarried yadda yadda, and that person, under a different name, has informed me they are studying(not confessing) with plans to get back in the org.....(have moved far away from the dfing cong)..............what the heck? I guess I can say I will not interfere with someones spiritually, but this has got to be the TOP of the jw game. What are the chances the org would catch on and has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Just really perplexed here! anyone insight would be wonderful. thanks
