Welcome John, yes it took me several attempts to join also. You are starting off on the right path though with an introduction. For some reason, I got no welcome, , but have found some interesting people.

RLST 145: INTRODUCTION TO THE OLD TESTAMENT (HEBREW BIBLE
Lecture 20 - Responses to Suffering and Evil: Lamentations and Wisdom Literature
Overview
This lecture begins with the Book of Lamentations, a short book of dirges that laments the destruction of Jerusalem and moves on to introduce the third and final section of the Hebrew Bible - the Ketuvim, or "Writings." This section of the Bible contains three books that exemplify the ancient Near Eastern literary genre of "Wisdom" -- Proverbs, Job and Ecclesiastes. Proverbs reinforces the Deuteronomistic idea of divine retributive justice according to which the good prosper and the evil are punished. The conventional assumption of a moral world order is attacked in the Book of Job. The book explores whether people will sustain virtue when suffering and afflicted, and brings charges of negligence and mismanagement against God for failing to punish the wicked and allowing the righteous to suffer.

**** God didn't stop this from happing*****
God did not stop you from making this statement either.
*** How can someone believe that god is real?***
If he is NOT, then why blame a non existant person/entity?..
Jobs friends accused Job of being evil, because God does not allow bad things to happen to good people...so Job you are bad.....
Job insisted he was righteousness and accused God of allowing the bad to go unpunished and the good to suffer.
God asked Job for the same courtesy, if Job is not bad despite the norms of reaping what you sow, why is God assumed bad based on the same norms....Can there be more variables in the equation ?

Since discovering that the WBTS end time eschatology is incorrect, which is no big deal under normal circumstances, but because their whole foundation is based on dates, so if their dates are wrong, the gathering did not happen, Christ did not come to appoint them as the FDS and the obvious domino effect.
Anyways, escathology continues to haunt me and over the past year study of the many end time escathology brought me to respect the amillennialism / partial Preterism understanding.
This understanding eliminates ALL end time prophets, as Partial Preterism sees almost everything in the book of Revelation as already fulfilled in the first century after Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD. Basically all that needs to be fulfilled is the final judgement when Christ "returns" to bring the mortal creation into the eternal state, with all evil destroyed.

Did Jehovah use non-believers to accomplish His will?
by I_love_Jeff in(again we have a questioned geared toward the jehovah's witnesses who strongly believe the star was a horama (illusion) crafted by satan.
this horama supposedly directed the magi who were apparently influenced by satan.).
if so, then what is wrong with god allowing the magi to accomplish his will by sending them out to find the christ?.

I believe God can use anybody or any event to reveal more knowledge and discipline to his children as he leads them out of slavery to decay and corruption. He used Babylon, he used a donkey, he used a prostitute, he can also used churches and even the watchtower, bot NOT the way they see it. A wise man accepts wisdom, advice, discipline, council, from anyone.
Shalom.

Welcome, I came to the USA, however, there was already a big split after Ray Franz got disfellowshipped. I never found out if I was disfellowship or not. An elder that shunned me back in Ireland was very responsive when I called him one day recently to see how his family was doing. We exchanged e-mails but I did not give him my new address here.....
Fading in another country is a lot easier, may the Father in Christ direct your decisions.
Welcome and Shalom
