Just wanted to add that what matters is not that the GB read this letter, but that all the other people who visit E-Watchman's site do. That's where it's going to have an impact - I know for a fact that he has a pretty big audience already...

You'll change your mind soon, no doubt. Have you seen the UN documents? It ain't easy to pretend the Governing Body wasn't pulling a big old bag over everyone's eyes for 10 years once you've read that letter...people in Malawi died because the GB prevented them from buying a 20 cent political card, and yet the GB was allowed to associate with the "WILD BEAST" for a decade...do you not detect ANY hypocrisy here? These are the people who tell you how you should lead your life!

New Announcement At The Memorial?
by dawn27 ini was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about an announcement to be made at the memorial this year?
my family is repeatedly pressuring me to go and the newest approach is that they've heard about an announcement, never made before, that concerns innactive ones or ones who have fallen away,, that is all that they would tell me.
are they going to come find and disfellowship us unless we go back or can we now come back "no questions asked" (yah right)?

The good in Jehovah's Witnesses.
by ScoobySnax ini don't think i've made any apology for my leanings here towards jws, whilst i don't imagine most here will agree with me, i just think its good sometimes to redress the balance on this forum in a small way to let people who might be reading/lurking/ know that.. despite feeling messed up a bit in my own head about which direction i want/have to take in my own life, and despite many struggles as deep and traumatic as many have experienced here, i still hold jws as a group in the highest esteem.
i can remember what it was like to try and do the "right" thing and follow the way of the truth, it was bloody hard, and i fell down many times.
i always used to try and pick myself up dust myself down and start over again, sometimes with success for longer periods than others.

Some religious people are good, and some religious people are bad.
That doesn't mean that religion itself is any in any way a good thing at all.
In fact, in the case of the Witnesses, I find it unbelievable that you can still support their way of life and their teachings, if you've spent as long here as you have. It's all a big lie, and it doesn't matter that kind-hearted people sometimes get caught up in that lie - that doesn't make it any better.
What I would say is that I did know some genuinely good people when I was in the "Troof" too. Unfortunately, these extremely nice people were suffering from a severe case of religion. That's pretty sad. I honestly don't know how people can go in for that stuff. None of it stands up to scrutiny...
