Spacy question - ISS and gyros - what u think?
by MrRoboto inlots of spacy questions lately so i'll add mine here.
theres a video of one of the guys on the international space station doing some experiments with a few portable cd players, using them as gyroscopes when turned on.
it was interesting to see.

Islandman you do realize that my comparison was one nasa satellite image vs another nasa satellite image and not maps, right? that is to say that in one image, north america takes up nearly the entire 1/2 globe and in others, its smaller than that, the scaling is off. review kairos pics from earlier in this thread, he posted some of the pics I'm talking about. these are easy to find using google and are official nasa imagery.
you do have some interesting observations about maps though... who would have ever thought that people would try to portray themselves as being more than they are...? nothing like internet forums, thank goodness!

Don't you think that some people are just better off within the org?
by paradiseseeker inthis is my first post, i will introduce myself later.
first of all, i must say that english is not my mother tongue (i'm spanish), so excuse me if i make any mistake.. do you think that some people simply can't cope with being outside the jws?
some of them are too worldlyphobic to be around non-jws, too dependent on a fixed set of rules in order to carry on with their lives, too dependent on the hope of paradise and resurrection, too unable to leave their personal comfort zone within the organization.

Because their security blanket can be destroyed thread by thread and their wall to the "world" can be demolished brick by brick. admittedly though it would be quite a feat and success is not a sure thing. it would likely take years for some folks, but IMHO it can be done.
If you are an elder, you may be able to expidite things a bit, they can get away with things that most folks cant and might be able to push some folks just enough to get them in the right state of mind to start to see ttatt. after that it can take care of itself for many folks.

my ex is being a pain about me not forcing my 12 year old to be a witness.
he doesn't know i'm becoming inactive at moment so i have to be careful how i word things to him.

sounds like u have no kids with him? if thats the case, maybe you can get a court order that limits his contact with you. in the US its called a restraining order, not sure if you have that option there.
that may ruffle some jw feathers but its a personal choice, not the business of the cong/elders.

im not doing the us them thing, theres me and you and this person and that one, everone stands on their own, or falls alone.
evidence can be overwhelming for 2 opposing ideas, that doesnt make your preferred one actually true. please just acknowledge that.
evidence is only as strong as your belief and what it means to you.
so while some nasa images may be overwhelming evidence of satellites snapping pics of a round earth, im a bit more objective when i tell you that the continents are not sized right on one vs the other, and so its overwhelming evidence that nasa doctors pictures and releases them as official satellite imagery. i cant go past that though, it wouldnt be objective or reasonable.
i dont watch videos like you were referring to and accusations are not necessary, only observation and the ability to objectively analyse what you can see. with those two alone, assuming arent litterally blind, youll be able to figure out what the deal is but if cant be objective, you could just start slinging mud, then you can be comfortable.
and yes, calling people names and refusing to consider outside evidence is exactly JWish.

well all that challenger stuff is interesting. maybe quantum entaglement works for people too. haha
my fav FE vids are not the cgi models showing how it could function and answering most of the RE ppls questions but the ones where people stop being arm chair scientists and get off their butts and do some experiments. at least they are trying which is more than 100% of the name-callers here. those experiments dont go far enough and leave too much wiggle room imho.
and yeah NASA hasnt helped with their fake pics and fake vids. their reasoning is irrelevent, you dont copy/paste cloud formations all over an official satellite image, or enlarge contintents to take more of the globe, thats unjustifiable. and at least some of the onboard ISS videos are digitally modified (video equivalent of photoshop) and some have obviously been taken from a non-ISS location.
of course none of that means flat earth, and flat earth doesnt mean..God. FE could mean any number of things if it were true.
