So this way your kids can get "encouraged" a la Conti and then are absolutely stuck in the bORG, unable to speak of the things they endured for fear of DFing. Great retention policy there fellas.

JW.org Featured Artical: When Your Adolescent Questions Your Faith
by pale.emperor inthis is one of the featured articals on jw.borg at the moment.
could it be because the young ones are googling their parents religion?, seeing the bullshit?, and calling their parents out on it?
i hope so.. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/wp20120201/adolescent-questions-faith/.

Kingdom Halls Are Hall Full
by SplaneThisToMe inthere’s all this talk about combining congregations to enhance kingdom hall utilization.
the branch offices keep calling the halls half full.
are they half full or half empty?
-
MrRoboto
Being neither a pessimist nor optimist,I would say that the halls are simply twice as large as necessary.
Extending this concept a little bit though, since we are not talking about a single cup but an entire group of halls, we can also say that there are twice as many KHs than is necessary.
Incidentally, I've noticed this empty hall deal at my own kh (being pimo) as well. When it first started, I was all-in and thought that it was just some local anomaly due to bad attitudes and cronyism. Now a days, even the CO visit doesn't draw the crowd that it used to, the folks that would only show up for the CO - don't.

Jesus and Satan’s Hilly hike
by EverApostate ini got an inspiration to create this topic as a subset of another topic.
satan in heaven.. as per the bible, the devil took jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
below is a reference from another critic.

Along with the Earth being hanged upon nothing, the north is stretched out over nothing (wbts bible says "northern sky" but original text didn't say that) (somewhere in job)
I'm not a flat earther but I've seen some of the stuff they use in support and viewing of all the kingdoms by Jesus and Satan, from one vantage point, is one of those things.
Again, I'm not a flat earther but I wanted to note that none of the motions mentioned in the above posts are measurable/provable from our vantage point here, as noted by Einstein. There is no device on earth that can detect its movement, whether it be rotational, the spiral motion mentioned above, nor any other movement. Yet motion is easily detectable on planes, ships etc with a variety of mechanical and electrical/optical devices. All of these devices are sensitive enough to detect the motion of a plane, far above the surface (larger curve than surface) and they detect nothing on the surface. Before anyone mentions the F. pendulum, consider how it SHOULD move at the equator, and compare to actual movements. Hint: it should be stationary but leaning opposite to the direction of earths axial rotation.
What I find funny about the Jesus/Satan hill account is that Satan offers all those kingdoms to Jesus, if only he will perform one act of.... bowing down? (obiesence) or was that worship? Funny, when Satan wants it, is worship, when others give it to Jesus, it's just obeisance, even though the Greek word is the same.

HQ must be paying Google to get the top hits
by nonjwspouse ini typed into google jehovahs-witness and the first four hits were borg sites.

I've noticed a similar tend when searching for specific ideas and phrases (even ones that are not JW specific)
I have also found evidence of their SEO tactics when the whole Russia thing was happening. Yes they are paying services to get then listed first, even using black hat methodologies (like articles in online African news papers and lots of other funny places that link back to their Russia articles on jw-dot-org)
I also use incognito mode, which basically keeps Google from knowing "who" you are, or associating your long term browsing history with your current session. One thing especially for mobile users to remember though is that your cookies (tracking) is still there until you close the browser so if you just got done binge reading on the jw site, your next search on a scriptural topic may still show the jw site at the top of the Google results, if you have not closed the browser first.
It also helps their online authority when sites like this have a massive amount of links to various jw org pages which is why I try to make sure not to type the jw . org site here because it tends to auto-link on this forum.
But yes, OP is absolutely right about the shenanigans, even if they are a little off, since they are not actually paying Google.
The link below (moz.com) is long but it shows you some of the nonsense links the bORG has acquired, including to online newswires and other places that are only for ranking higher.

I was a bit disappointed when I realized that the Sanderson & posse were not detained and appropriately dealt with at the conclusion of the proceedings.
Too bad, such a moment lost in time, not likely to be seen again. Should have been a nice financial drain too, when the bORG faught tooth&nail to get him back. May have been able to raise some questions about how the "slave" could operate with one of the members gone, after all, it's a composite slave, only the slave when they are all together.
Too bad, too bad.

Gradualism for the blood doctrine?
by no-zombie inhere in australia, during the service meeting this week, the local needs part was taken up to quickly discuss a letter from the organization stating that there will no longer be a annual meeting part to discuss or remind the congregations about their blood cards.. i found this quite odd.. its not like that there is a shortage of meeting time to discuss this issue, as the society has recently been hijacking more and more local needs parts for its own messages.
and for a supposedly important doctrine, you would think that it should be mentioned more often rather than less, to keep everyone in line.. could this be a beginning of the movement away from the blood doctrine, through the process of gradualism?.
no-zombie .

Perhaps the letter is regional? Based on perception of legal liability in particular countries? I would like to see this letter as well.

Yes but if there is no specific rule against it, it essentially becomes a conscience matter.. Or does it? There are things that could get you DF or DA that you don't find out about until either it happens to you or you read the elder book so..
My question is this: if it wasn't officially denounced but it is no longer an active teaching, is it still considered a teaching/belief of JWs? There are quite a few ridiculous teachings that just faded away without being changed/renounced.

Jesus Christ The Founding source of Christianity [ Peace, Love,Family ,forgiveness and turn the other Cheek teaching ]
by smiddy3 inthat is the popular view of jesus christ as the prince of peace and the protector of children.. you don`t hear very much about the flip side of jesus teachings that contradict those teachings do you.. matt.10:34-37 .
"34 .do not think i came to put peace upon the earth,i came to put not peace but a sword 35..for i came to cause division with a man against his father and a daughter against her mother and a young wife against her mother in law 36.,indeed a man`s enemies will be persons of his own household.
37. he that has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me and he that has greater affection for son or daughter than me is not worthy of me.".

Mission accomplished. Look at how divided families get when people wake up to TTATT. If the "Greek scriptures"never existed, this wouldn't be such an issue.

The Blood Soaked Savagery of the YHWH/Jesus Creation
by fulltimestudent indo you remember being with a group of witnesses looking at some cute little animal and everyone saying, "oooh!
isn't jehovah sooo wooooonderful!!!
" of course, most other christians are just as prone to utter such insipid, sugary and idiotic expressions.. the cats and dogs that we often dote on are the result of hundreds of years of breeding out undesirable traits, but their original ancestors survived by catching and tearing to pieces cute, cuddly little animals who are stricken with terror as they are hunted.

Interesting points on that scripture. Once I was able to clear my mind of the JW specific indoctrination, I still had to wonder about the killing/feeding cycles of various animals. Doesn't seem quite right that these innocent animals should be eaten alive, torturously murdered as a result of mans' sin. That would be like (deity) saying to mankind "sorry guys, since the creatures I made on Mars decided to disobey me, you're going to become food for the dogs, better start running! But don't worry, in a few thousand years, when we're back on good terms, the dogs will eat grass instead". Yeah I'm a bit past wondering about the bible these days.

Finkelstein, that's not the first time I've seen reference to some "destroy the evidence" instruction but I'm not familiar with the actual document(s) can you give a link or maybe just cite which letter or whatever they used? I really would like to see this and maybe share it.
