Did man really go to the moon?
by atomant inl have researched this subject and come to the conclusion that no we didn't.what do others think?.

occams razor would suggest that the moon and other sky lights are just lights. im not suggesting this but that would be simpler than everything that would have to happen for the entire universe to exist. even multiple international conspiracies would be simpler than a big bang, universal expansion, and all the rest that finally got us here billions of years later, thats extremely complex.
if occams razor were a real thing, you would have a lot of nicks and not a clean shave at all.

i would like to take this moment to congratulate jrjw for starting what must be one of the fastest growing threads in some time.
truely bringing us all together for support and (mis)understanding.
its too bad about all the name calling and high emmotions, this is not even an emmotional topic! at least we all got to know eachother a little better though, for better or for worse.
i bet she had no idea, the can of worms she was loosing on the forum.

Talking Janet Jackson and Religious Freedom with the Wife
by OnTheWayOut inmy recent sidewalk discussion with a couple of jw's has gotten me in the mood to say more when appropriate.so the wife and i were riding in the car and cat stevens comes on.
i mentioned to her that cat stevens left music when he was still popular and converted to islam back in the 1970's- how he was told that his music would have to be morally acceptable and he found it easier to just abandon making new music for at least 20 years.
so i didn't really remember all the details and i figured the conversation would die.

Good job, you gave her the gift that keeps on giving, like the other comments noted.

Spacy question - ISS and gyros - what u think?
by MrRoboto inlots of spacy questions lately so i'll add mine here.
theres a video of one of the guys on the international space station doing some experiments with a few portable cd players, using them as gyroscopes when turned on.
it was interesting to see.

Whatshallicallmyself thats interesting. does this mean that the ISS doesnt orbit the earth but rather the earth is spinning beneath it? sounds fair but the iss is supposed to be moving much faster than earth. or does it move just about 700mph in opposition to the earths rotation, causing an relative speed of about 1700 mph? in that case, i would think the hypothetical gyro-box would wind up stuck to the walls and move around a bit as it resists the change in inertia/direction.
too bad theres no way to test it here, id like to see that.
for the request for links, i consider that a little lazy since i gave an exact saerch term but here https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p5rKDhmu37I

The question is this: given the high speed and curved path of the ISS, what should we expect to see happen with an object that has active gyros in all 3 dimensions if we were to observe for 1 minute or more?
Personally, i would have added one more on a diagonal plane to cover all the bases but that wasnt their setup.

from what i have seen flat earthers have various oppinions on the various facets of the lights in the sky (sun/moon/stars/planets) so they dont all have the same beliefs.
for the moon landing, there is not one person here that is qualified to state that it did or did not happen, out of personal 1st hand knowledge, we can only go with our personal understanding of and willingness to believe the evidence.
on a side note, Russia, who never claimed to land men on the moon, also has a lunar reflector. without having to put a man there. so refelctors are not proof, evidence maybe but weak evidence then, unless we are willing to say Russia is covering up their own moon men. Are we saying that now? is that a thing moon landing proponents are advocating?
what i find funny, hillarious really, is that the apollo astronots couldnt remember whether space was soo dark or soo bright with stars.
its too bad those pics from luna didnt show the milkyway. you can see it from earth, i really would have liked to see it from the moons POV. but maybe its because those cameras were not made to be used in a harsh environment like space, thats straight from the manufacurers mouth but maybe thats why they didnt pick up stars and galaxies and why the shadows are at funny angles sometimes.
Oh and recent videos from our NASA friends have stated that they are still trying to figure out how to safely get through the van allen belt, and that once they figure that out, the can go further out into space like to the moon and beyond. damn all this doublespeak, feels like the Watchtower has taught the govs to speak just like them.
for those who would say "prove it" to the statement above, do i really have to hand those things to you on a silver platter? its so easy to find, if i have to hand it to you, you are being intellectually lazy.

The Use of Hyperboles.
by Lost in the fog ini have often wondered if jesus deliberately used hyperboles to obscure his meaning.
i can say to my wife that i will love her until the moon is no more.
she well knows that i will love her forever, not simply until earth's nearest satellite crumbles into dust.

Obfuscation would seem to run contrary to the stated goal of repentance & salvation.
Keep in mind too that the "system of things" was not in the bible, it's these types of
bastardizationstranslations that make it harder to understand what's really being said. Also, the bible said that the message was already preached in all creation, in all the world. Oops.
Either the end already came, or....

Apparently it was simply "ignition" by Schmitt. But conspiracy buffs know that the real last words were "are you sure we can't tell anyone about all these pillars we found on the dark side? They seem kinda important"
Let the robot wars commence!
