The Modern Exodus: Perception or Reality?
by Hadriel ini'm completely new at this however just in my joining this forum and of course interacting with others i can't help but notice what appears to be a significant exodus from the organization.. for those of you that have long been in this game have you seen this before?
i'm really curious and we should refrain from the sensational, but is what we're seeing different than in years past?.
it sure seems like so so many are waking and leaving.

2nd amendment right ... where should it end?
by Simon inone thing i like to do to test a theory is to take things to extremes or to their logical conclusion to see if the premises still hold.
very often, a claim that seems to make sense at a superficial level falls apart when you start to stretch it a little.. so let's play a game.. suppose the 2nd amendment is valid, that some "well regulated militia" really is necessary to hold the government to account.. obviously when this was drafted the government had access to the weapons of it's day which would be muskets!
so muskets all round.

@Giordano & @Simon
You guys are missing the point. You're quick to sight isolated incidents however when albeit via satire I state another way someone might die in the same environment that doesn't count? What kinda logic is that?
The point is you can't sight a single incident and say see see if someone is hunting a camper/hiker dies. That is what you are implying.
So my counter is well then if you pitch a tent you get killed by a tree.
Maybe you missed it but my point is that it's ridiculous to say either!!!
No one has explained to me the fact that in states where gun ownership is nearly 65% that they have so few murders by guns they don't even register in the analytics. See those are facts. Those aren't isolated incidents we see that in multiple states.
I feel like you guys think if there's a gun in the picture it's for sure going off and someone is getting killed. Yet the proof that gun lenient states are safer is clearly there. That is categorically contrary to the theory that guns spontaneously go off.
I get it you think all guns should be banned, fine just add everything thing else to the list too as bombs are far more destructive and kill many more yet none of you have even mentioned it.
I have to get out of this one as I think I'm gonna lose my mind ha ha.
I'll leave everyone with this. I'm all for reasonable gun control however I refuse to say guns kill people. People kill people and they do it by many means. You'd be better off starting programs to help people coincide and relive stress than limiting a cartridge to 10 rounds instead of 15.
Respectfully,
HH

To be clear I don't feel one way or the other about it honestly. I suspect most of you feel the same. Things become so firm in your mind that you don't need a confirmation.
So that isn't my point here. More about simply are we seeing the start of something larger or not. I just keep seeing folks bail left and right and it makes me wonder but I have no history for comparison.

There is far far less control in where shrapnel goes.
There have been more deaths by terrorists in explosions than by guns themselves.
People put people at risk.
Siting a one off case of a hiker is pretty silly.
Why don't you ban trees next? They kill in the wild too. You have a better chance of being maimed or killed in the wilderness but some accident or animal attack than you ever will an errant bullet. Not even up for discussion.

Sometimes I think the more rabid gun nuts have a Mad Max fetish, and subconsciously (or perhaps not so subconsciously) hope the world will become that way once everyone is finally armed to the teeth.
Oh brother. Right everyone that owns a gun is a vigilante.
Do you take this stand with the common chemicals in your home that can be used as poison or bombs? Do you vehemently pursue the fertilizer companies to restrict access to their materials?
More often than not many mass murders have little to do with guns. Just look at the Boston Marathon and many many more.
Nut jobs will do nut job things. They'll use whatever they can get their hands on and although they may be carrying a gun more often than not some other mechanism, not a gun, is used to maximize the damage.
So I'd really like to see you folks start clamoring to ban nails, pipe, fertilizer, ammonia and the list goes on.
Have you never camped out in the back woods? You couldn't get me out there without a weapon. On more than one occasion I've had to fire warning shots to scare off animals. Ever been camping where bears are common. You better be packing something.
Seriously I want to see a thread started demanding the ban of nails. Every dang pipe bomb ever made has used them.

Is Reading/Writing about Mythologies bad?
by Messhy inas the topic title says, is reading/writing about mythologies bad?
i read alot of mythologies and enjoy it.
should i stop?.

Hadriel
@Messhy first off welcome and I'm glad you made it in.
Ask yourself why do humans like music? Why do most enjoy a good movie? Songs can be full of fantasy and most movies are pure fiction.
So why if we know going in that they are well to put it bluntly fake, do we enjoy them so? The mind is quite the interesting organ. It needs fact. It needs to know or be in the know you might say. If we don't have fact or understand it can actually drive us mad. We are constantly in search for things.
However that all said why do you dream? Dreams can be utter fiction and make zero sense. So why do we have them if they are not reality?
The bottom line is we all need shut down time. It simply isn't healthy to be full go all the time. Much like any machine if you run it non-stop and never let it cool down eventually it will break.
Personally I believe we are no different. Our brains need down time. So when we go to a movie and relax for a couple hours I actually believe that this is very healthy. That down time allows us to shut down a bit and let our mind rest.
So in this long winded way what I'm saying is read whatever you like. Is it possible for what we read to influence us, of course but to act as though the minute you read this or that it means x is in my mind fantasy in of itself.
I've long played first person shooter games. I love the strategy of it. I actually find it relaxing. Some will say oh there's blood on the screen or those sorts of games cause you to one day go postal and mow people down with an AR15, well I say that is utter horse pucky.
I have plenty of weapons There's not been a single second where I thought ya know I'll roll into the local Starbucks tomorrow and take target practice at everyone's caramel macchiatos...lol.
The point being we are all perfectly capable of disseminating between fiction and reality and in fact need both.

It sure seems like so so many are waking and leaving. It may take up to a year or more to truly see the effects but I believe completely it's significant, however I have nothing to compare it to. That's where you come in, so speak your peace, thx.

Elders at the gates
by Gorbatchov inmy lovely wife warned me from the upper floor: close the windows, brother x is at the front door.
so, there they are again, for their required visit before the memorial.
i don't like it, you never hear from them, only in the week before the memorial.
-
Hadriel
@Gorby fyi I wouldn't take the lack of responses here as that no one cares or is interested. More like man we've all seen this before.
Dealing with the same, I want to tell them to get bent as the expression goes but I don't want to set off any alarms either.
For the record with the numbers exiting I wouldn't be surprised if these efforts ramped heavily in the coming years.

This is the crap we indoctrinated our own children with. When we woke even as teenagers we with the aid of similar propaganda we had done such a good job we nearly failed at waking them too.
I'll hand it to the WT they know how to manipulate people's minds. They're masters at ti. In many cases cold hard fact isn't enough when even right in front of their eyes to wake some.

God said be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and govern it.
by atomant inl have a problem with this.lf adam and eve didnt sin the earth would eventually have been full to the brim with perfect human beings.then what every man gets the chop or no more sex?then on the other hand we have the jw's sayingresurrected ones will not be allowed to marry in the earthly new system.. married survivors of armageddon will remain married.
single survivors of armageddon may or may not be allowed to marry.so it seems that people reborn into new system wont be able to procreate.
and married survivors will stay married so l assume that means they can still hanky panky and have babys thats a bit unfair..the earth can only accommodate a maximum number of humans then what for the married couples.
-
Hadriel
@atomant you make the assumption there's such a thing as paradise Earth. However this does not exist in the bible. Only paradise of heaven is discussed.
Sadly many witnesses assume that "paradise earth" is spoken about all over the bible however it simply is not. mention it to them and they are stunned to find that this is the case.
So before we start considering that the Earth would be overfilled you have to first show me where in the bible this is even eluded to.
If there's a hope does it matter what it is? Earthly or Heavenly? Or is simply not dying or having life again more important?
