How did you feel when you found out "the truth about the truth"?

so when you first found out specific facts about the organisation, how did you feel??.

the un membership.

the way 1914 was calculated from pyramid measurements.

There are so many things left out that MATTER!!

Just one little tiny example related to his point on 607 which will prevent you from getting past the first page.

Initially Russell who took the idea of applying Daniel's prophecy to calculating the beginning of Jesus' parousia from Barbour (spelling, Miller etc) initially said the Pyramid of Giza's dimensions calculated to 1874. NOT 1914 at least not yet.

Suddenly miraculously in 1903 Russell then had to produce "new light" because well obvious 1874 was buptkis so he inexplicably changed the dimensions so they added up to 1914.

So the author of this site left these key pieces out. We haven't gotten off his first page on the subject yet btw.

Originally in calculating the Gentile Times ( I won't bore you with the entire prophecy & calculations here) the original date wasn't even 607 BCE it was 606! Why well that's because they forgot about the zero year!

Before I forget we still haven't left his first page on the matter. Now how do JW's arrive at 606 errr I mean 607 well they simply add the 70 years of desolation to the date factually known and accepted by all of 539 when Babylon was sacked by Cyrus.

So we just add 70 years to 539 and we get 609 wait what???

This is where it starts to get interesting again. Now I won't go into it in detail but it was 500 miles or more depending on route to return to Jerusalem when Cyrus decreed in his first year of rule to let the exiles return (see Ezra).

It order for this to work the exiles MUST return in 537. This cannot be proven Again can't go into that detail but you should look into the commiseration year of Cyrus and Darius.

Pyramids, 606, Nudging Pyramid inches to go from 1874 to 1914, iffy 537 and we haven't really gotten off the first page.

Have we become what we despise so much?

the majority of members who tend to join this forum have been hurt possibly even traumatized sometimes to the point of wanting to end their lives.

upon joining the forum, new members are welcomed with open arms, welcome messages start pouring in, "likes" are freely given, a false sense of security is promoted where a member is free to speak his mind without having to worry about the wt gestapo.

again, similar to how potential converts are welcomed and "love bombed" upon entering a kh for the first time.

I would suggest that argument when done in a non attacking way (no personal insults, attacking of family etc) can be quite healthy actually.

Although your point is fair and I see where you're coming from at the end of the day it is indefinitely better to disagree than to wander along mindlessly clapping uncontrollably for Jehovah's blessing of typhoon sand on a construction project all the while ignoring another typhoon that brought death and pain to 33 of his people 22 of which were huddled in a Kingdom Hall.

Constructive discussions even when we don't like to hear what others are saying can be helpful. It molds all of us as we shape one another. For with out this natural staple of life things would be rather boring and without difference.

Changed Will Watchtower You Get Nothing!

it dawned on me that i had the watchtower bible and tract society in my will.

i just changed it.

Yes James they have problem is it hits the trash the second any dissenting comment is made. That or the reply comes back with:

"Wait on Jehovah".

so as many know....ive been df'd goin on 19 years already.

i drive pops to meetings, and drop him off on saturdays for fs.. well yesterday, the elders ask to speak to me, and tell me that if i plan on returning to jehovah, i had better shave my beard off..

So you call killing children a mistake? Why would God have his spirit directed organization employ policies that would kill children.

Prior to 2000 many blood fractions were banned. Many children died. In fact an article was made praising their stance. Suddenly after 2000 this was relaxed.

Now imagine you're a parent whose child died. How would you feel? How would you feel about God.

I cannot and will not call these mistakes. They are opinions of men, that were not voted on unanimously by the way, that were flipped flopped without thought of those whom they effect.

I used to think just like you. Then a study ask me to prove them wrong. He had never been a witness. Knew nothing of them. He asked me to check into a few things. I setup to prove him wrong only I couldn't.

You simply cannot say anything one way or the other until you give an honest, transparent test of your faith. Until then your statement is heavily slanted.

There are two types of individuals that leave the organization. Ones that have been dealt with judicially and have an axe to grind, the other being ones that have been at Bethel and seen the hypocrisy or are generally deep thinkers and have really attempted to check every box.

For the latter group I can tell you if you allow yourself to have an honest, transparent study of the organization you simply CANNOT come away feeling remotely confident. In fact most feel deceived and duped.

Happy to give you 5 points that you can contemplate. If you can prove all 5 statements false I'll repent and return to the organization.

Are you up for the challenge or are you simply trolling?
