Counsel from Bro Losch (GB Member) to the Elders about the NFL
by James Jack inwhile attending a week long training class for elders in patterson, bro losch gave the concluding talk about loyalty to the borg, which i was in awe of(i went more in detail in a recent post about a s.a.d.
where losch was the speaker).
at the end of his talk, here's what he said: .

Had the C.O visit this week...went out on service and Wow
by MrsR-Awaken inthis is my first post here (not being comments) but i still have to tell my story but for that i need to get my mind together in other to give as much detail as possible to be able to share it.
will do in a future post.. anyway i had to share this.. so i went out on service this morning (i never do i always end up excusing myself because i hate field service) reason i did was to see what the new c.o had to say and he sure did say something.
he was saying what we had to present and he went over the watchtower magazine.

One of my relatives is a C.O. I can assure you those types of illustrations are but one in a trove of many other equally odd illustrations.
My favorite part was always watching others swoon at his every word when he shared these sorts of analogies.
They paid for it too! I remember one time, while visiting him as a teenager, he walked out of the kingdom hall with about 1200 bucks. This was years ago btw. Every handshake had a few 20's rolled up in it or even a 100 or 200.
Some day I need to relate all these stories, there are literally tons of them. A couple of which were inspired by Star Trek if you can believe it. If they only knew!! :)

Domain Webmaster: Logging, Privacy and Features
by Hadriel inquestion for the webmaster and authors of this site.. to what degree is logging kept on your server?.
has there been any consideration to move the server/host to for example the netherlands or iceland etc for added privacy rather than a u.s. based host such as is the case now (currently in mountain view, ca)?
any thought on allowing users to tag other users (e.g.

As to shredding it is easy to setup and logs absolutely could pose a threat to identity. If you don't keep them around long if you ever receive a court order for any reason you're in the clear as there's nothing to get really.
It's fine tho man was just curious since this is my world. Ignore me ha ha.
I know you know this but what makes this forum great is that it's inline. next post, next post, next post. Rather than the bb forums where there's so much nesting. Seems great in theory but I hated it then still hate it.
Holler if you ever need a hand or anything. glad to help do this stuff all day every day.
BTW what wysiwyg is this editor? I use Redactor a lot. kinda like this one.

Sounds good although I disagree on the "veneer" perspective. I have a fair amount of experience in this regard.
Privacy laws are significantly more stringent in certain countries.
As to logging what I typically do is remote log to encrypted host then periodically shred directories in a rotation of sorts.
Essentially the most you'll ever have logged is a couple days. Anything malicious you'll know about it. You don't need days of that around to troubleshoot in the majority of cases.
Anyway I was just curious. Thx!

Question for the webmaster and authors of this site.
To what degree is logging kept on your server?
Has there been any consideration to move the server/host to for example the Netherlands or Iceland etc for added privacy rather than a U.S. based host such as is the case now (currently in Mountain View, CA)?
Any thought on allowing users to tag other users (e.g. @SomeUserHandle) and have this ping the user either by email, pm or a toast notification (this would be handy to me)?
May apologies if these questions have been addressed before...yeah I was lazy and didn't search :(
Be clear site works great just a few thoughts that might take it even more next level.

As to your experience you have to put things in perspective. The bible doesn't support tribunals. in fact Judicial matters should be in the public forum to begin with. Disputes in Israel were handled at the city gate. The were done in public so the judges would act fairly and be held accountable.
In what way is that mimic'd in the organization today. It's NOT! In fact it is the polar opposite. Elders are not held accountable.
For many the mere thought of a judicial trial (let's not soften it, it's a trial) puts them on the defensive. In fact the scriptures often read before there's any discussion are accusatory and put the person in a tough spot as they feel guilty before they begin.
There's not much with this process that is loving or transparent. It is setup in such a way that the only one held accountable is the accused.
So although you might have had some experiences where someone has been dishonest, is not the entire concept and practice of judicial trials dishonest?
Pot calling the kettle black.
As to people in general some are good some are bad. There are plenty bad in the organization they just tow the line so as not to be cast out. People are what they are unfortunately.

@pile2222
So if you were always told there is no year zero why wasn't Russell "inspired" with Holy Spirit to get it right from the get go instead of error and use 606?
Honestly there's no way to defend this teaching. At this point I could do an entire conference for two days on it. unfortunately as you mentioned it is in fact complicated.
There is where they're able to get a way with it. No one wants to put the time in to really understand why it is false.
If people want to believe without knowing for themselves there's nothing you can do about that.

I would love to get the author of http://thirdwitness.com on phone, Skype whatever.
There are so many things left out that MATTER!!
Just one little tiny example related to his point on 607 which will prevent you from getting past the first page.
Initially Russell who took the idea of applying Daniel's prophecy to calculating the beginning of Jesus' parousia from Barbour (spelling, Miller etc) initially said the Pyramid of Giza's dimensions calculated to 1874. NOT 1914 at least not yet.
Suddenly miraculously in 1903 Russell then had to produce "new light" because well obvious 1874 was buptkis so he inexplicably changed the dimensions so they added up to 1914.
So the author of this site left these key pieces out. We haven't gotten off his first page on the subject yet btw.
Originally in calculating the Gentile Times ( I won't bore you with the entire prophecy & calculations here) the original date wasn't even 607 BCE it was 606! Why well that's because they forgot about the zero year!
Before I forget we still haven't left his first page on the matter. Now how do JW's arrive at 606 errr I mean 607 well they simply add the 70 years of desolation to the date factually known and accepted by all of 539 when Babylon was sacked by Cyrus.
So we just add 70 years to 539 and we get 609 wait what???
This is where it starts to get interesting again. Now I won't go into it in detail but it was 500 miles or more depending on route to return to Jerusalem when Cyrus decreed in his first year of rule to let the exiles return (see Ezra).
It order for this to work the exiles MUST return in 537. This cannot be proven Again can't go into that detail but you should look into the commiseration year of Cyrus and Darius.
Pyramids, 606, Nudging Pyramid inches to go from 1874 to 1914, iffy 537 and we haven't really gotten off the first page.
