No fun debating "imperfect" JWs
by Tantalon inwell that was no fun at all, just got a visit to invite me to the last supper memorial.
haven't had a call for a long long time.
i tried to engage them about following bible not watchtower, they just kept changing the subject as they have always done but this time every challenge was met with "we are not perfect, the slave is not perfect" and "we don't want to have a debate".

Hi HBF, I was born in, out for most of my adult life as my wife is a "worldly" woman, LOL. I was an apologist for a long time and still mentally hanging on by a toe nail til a few years ago I attended the funeral of a worldly Aunt with my aged parents. My Father's total insensitivity to and lack of comprehension about the whole grieving process and trying to vindicate the Society because in his mind said Aunt had died from a blood transfusion (not true) made me mad as hell. Took a deep dive into EXjw world, learned a hell of a lot, became a non-believer and lost all my silly fears and bad dreams. Never felt better.
Peace and happiness to you.

Smiddy, One was old man, 83, told me he was baptized at 15, the other was a woman 50ish I guess. I am in West Australia about 80ks out of Perth. I see them out in groups now and then, very rarely see any younguns in service.
After that long in he couldn't afford to look back and be objective about the changes, would probably be too much to cope with. I was pleasant enough with them, no good being full on with old folks.

Well that was no fun at all, just got a visit to invite me to the last supper memorial. Haven't had a call for a long long time. I tried to engage them about following Bible not Watchtower, they just kept changing the subject as they have always done but this time every challenge was met with "we are not perfect, the slave is not perfect" and "we don't want to have a debate". I tried Blood, Generations, ARC, UN ;....... " we are not perfect"
I thought they were supposed to examine every inspired utterance etc, like the Beroeans. Just couldn't gain any traction at all on any subject. I actually felt sorry for them. They are a very pale shadow of what they formerly were.

Tenacious; OP asked a simple question based on that poster's belief system, I gave a simple answer based on my belief system. Sorry if that offended you.

Well I am enjoying this much more than the political discussions that have been going on lately. Governing body stuff ups much more entertaining, for me anyhow. I doubt that it will wake many unfortunately but a lot of fun for apostates!.

Holy Spirit - Present or Gone in the Congregations?
by BourneIdentity ini was doing some reminiscing and remember the days back in the late 80s and early 90s where i truly could say the meetings were so encouraging and that i felt the holy spirit present and operating on all of us.
today when i attend, there is nothing of the sort.
is it because jehovah has withheld it?

I was born in (1958) and I never felt anything except confused, lonely and frightened. Later on very angry.
No offense to those who believe but the evidence tells me they never were under Holy Spirit, there is no such entity/force.
