something just dawned on me today as i processed my assimilation into the real world (thanks to our new poster, @jester, giving me a major throwback to my first post).. when you're a jehovah's witness, you really are in some sort of la la land.

things which are perfectly normal are acts of eating from the table of the demons.

things which are horribly grotesque and extremely unjust are branded as "righteousness".

I feel really stupid that I was even duped by the wts in the first place. All I can put it down to was the naivety of youth. Even worse is the pain and sadness I've seen on my daughter's face over the years when I've said we can't do this or that or go to such n such's house from school, no school discos, no after school clubs, having to tell her she can't do Irish dancing anymore coz i kept getting comments about her competitions (which were 1 Saturday every 2 months) taking us away from the ministry, being asked nearly every year if we can do xmas, listening to certain sisters pulling her (bad) qualities to bits and then telling her she needs to do this and that and behave this way to make Jehovah happy to get into paradise and I've just sat there imagining what I'd like to say to them in my head (which weren't nice things) and then consoling her at home afterwards, she's only flippin 12. I have snapped at them recently a few times when they've done it coz I'm reaching breaking point with them. Dunno why I couldn't see it all though til the last 2 years

Flat earth vs round earth

my brother has been talking about the earth being flat and some big conspiracy going on to make people beieve otherwise.

what are people's thoughts on this?.

Jp1962 my brother believes in a flat earth and they don't believe there are other planets. they think a round earth is a conspiracy theory by the government's of the world which is indoctrinated into us through school from childhood to draw people way from God by making people believe there's other life out there with there being other planets when there really isn't and those other planets aren't mentioned in the bible meaning earth is the only (flat) one. He also said the sun moves around the earth 😂😂 its crazy!!

just like when we were jw's doing the knocking, it's good to have a question prepared to get them thinking about their own beliefs.

What got me questioning teachings was when I found out Jerusalem didn't fall in 607bc so I'd ask:

It's getting arder to stay quiet when people are talking about the meetings and my husband who I'm separated from keeps talking about reconciling coz its what Jehovah wants and expects. I wanna tell him everything Ive learned and tell him he has been brainwashed but i know i have to keep quiet til I'm inactive coz he'll be straight to elders repeating what ive said thinking he's "saving" me then I'll get harassed off him and them. He'll start saying im killing our son and my daughter by not being a witness. He's done it before when I've said I dont want to be a witness over the last couple of years. I didn't know then all the lies I know now though about the organisation. He'll try every form of emotional blackmail he can think of

Confused

i am 12 years old and im confused because my mam is leaving the truth after 12 years and i want to celebrate xmas but she still doesnt believe that should do it coz even though shes realised society has lied about things she still believes in god.

im unsure whether i believe in god or not but i havent really looked into it much ..

Yes I'm her mam and Ive had a word about posting things on here. She saw me on it and I explained what the site was for and she's posted the thing about school without my knowledge but its sorted now. Thank you for your kind replies to her and for encouraging her not to post things like that on here and to talk to an appropriate person
