Galations 1:8, 9 and Nu-Lite®
by kairos inhowever, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to you as good news something beyond what we declared to you as good news, let him be accursed.
9 as we have said above, i also now say again, whoever it is that is declaring to you as good news something beyond what you accepted, let him be accursed.. guess what?
wtbts is accursed.. they go beyond.

through their God-dishonoring teaching of Issue of Universal Sovereignty too, they went "beyond what is written in the scriptures." -

carol1111,
People will continue to do what they are prepared to do whether a superior evil person/good person tries to inspire them or not--hence as you say people are responsible for what they do.

Heaven,
very nicely put: "Christianity has exonerated themselves from the responsibility of evil."
thank you for that reference: WTWizard

freddo,
yes, I had many issues like that. Then I understood I need not ask anybody to understand what is in the Bible. Also, God will not leave a book to his children to be understood with the help of other children.

During CO visit, I took him for a Bible Study I was conducting. During the session, the householder said he believed Satan was not a person, but personification of evil within us. I left CO to handle householder’s doubt. CO tried as usual with WT answers (if Satan was a quality, it would mean Jesus was talking to the evil within him, but he was sinless …bla bla.). Unfortunately, householder did not seem to be convinced of CO’s reasoning.
On our way back, I told CO that the householder had a point. He said in the temptation account, Satan is shown as reflecting the erroneous belief of ancient time that shape of earth is flat, thus taking Jesus to the top of “a very high mountain” and showed “all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.” (Mathew 4:8, 9) The fact that Jesus did not correct the mistaken view of Satan shows the account of temptation is allegorical. Further, Jesus knew that Satan was only a personification of evil (Mathew 16:23; John 6:70) and categorically declared that “all evil thoughts proceed from one’s heart,” not from Satan. (Mark 7:21; James 1:14). There is nothing unusual with personification as Bible personifies even material riches. (Mathew 6:24).
CO did not respond to my comments. I thought that was the end of the matter.
However, I did not know that CO had registered a case against me with the Body of Elders. In the following week after CO visit, two elders approached me and asked whether I still stick to my view about Satan which I shared with CO. I really got angry within me thinking why should CO take seriously something I said so casually and informally. I responded: “If you both have come to build a case against me with two of you being the prospective witnesses to what I am going to say, here is my view. I do not believe Satan is a person, but a personification of evil tendencies found in all of us. You do whatever you want to do, and you don’t have to take the trouble of informing me what your decision is going to be.” After that I never went to Kingdom Hall.
After a few months, my friends in the congregation informed me that my disfellowshipping was announced. Reason: apostasy!

Kingdom Hall Attenders: Consider Stopping the Use of Loaded Language
by OnTheWayOut init's been a long time since i attended, but i understand that many of you still go to the kingdom hall for your various reasons.. a huge thing that helped me in my mentally breaking from their beliefs was to stop using their terms that put you, virtually automatically, into their thought mode.. using terms like "the truth," jw's feel special about themselves and this helps them separate themselves from "the world.
" by incorporating loaded language, jw's learn not to think, but merely to memorize words and phrases instead of analyzing a situation.. the reasons someone misses meetings is because they are "spiritually weak.
" they might be involved in "worldly thinking.".

It was a lot of fun for me hearing them use the phrase "according to our current understanding" and yet "truth" being applied to them exclusively. -

Luke 15:4 Has this ever happened in your congregation?
by pleaseresearch inluke 15:4. new international version.
"suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them.
doesn't he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?.
-

I have seen just the opposite.
In a wedding feast, when the elders saw one lost sheep (D/F), they created a pandemonium over it, arguing with the host (JW) that that the lost sheep should be asked to leave or else the whole of JW invitees would leave.

I need food for thought..
by raven inhi friends,it has been 20 years that i've slaved for the wt and through out the past couple of years i could feel myself fighting an urge to accept that something was not right.
i fought it off for so long only for it to resurface frequently throughout my years of pioneering, assembly/convention parts, & speaking with people about the "truth", slaving and giving to try to be a "spiritual person" but in reality i was not spiritual because spirituality (according to the org) is doing all of the things they want you to do.
which then will label you as spiritual... no !!!

Hello Raven,
I built up from my initial doubt on "who is the faithful and discreet slave?"--a question that is found in an illustration Jesus used to highlight the preparedness of all Christians, but JWs have made this verse as a basis for God's organization on earth in the "last days."
If this is how they understand Bible, one can imagine their understanding about other verses.
