Why I like movies ...

i think i've sussed out why i'm getting so into movies.. they make me feel emotions.

i think i'm a bit of a cold fish - i find it hard to properly feel emotions.

i'm not sure if i was born that way or if it's a result of my experience with the wts.

Talking to my two boys well after we all had left the religion they would relate to me how the youths in the congregations would pull the wool over the eyes of their parents including me thinking they were good youthful JW`s and they would frequently go to movies,R+ and X rated and gigs that we as parents had no knowledge about just trusting our children that we were bringing them up right.

Not only were we gullible about the religion we had was the "truth" we were also gullible in thinking that "if you train up a boy(or girl) in the way they should go they will not depart from it".

Bullshit.

Thankfully we are all OK out of the influence of this toxic religion.

let's play devils advocate here.. put yourself in the governing body's shoes.

they are well aware of all the issues they are facing.

they know their numbers (they 'do the math' as they say in the us).

The bulk of the population is on the Eastern and Southern sides of the Continent and not on the Western side of the Continent that is shown on JW.org

Aren`t their scriptures in the Hebrew books ( OT) that indicate that their are faithful men (women?) of old that have gone to heaven ? Such as Abraham Isaac and Jacob ?for instance and ,any women ? Any others ?

And if so wouldn`t that contradict John 3:13 ?

In theory, can one be disfellowshipped for attempted suicide?

so i was recently reading the reasons for disfellowshipping as listed in shepherd the flock of god.

the handbook is available online here: https://thetruthofjehowaswittness.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/jehovas-vitner.pdf.. on page 59, point #4, it lists attempted suicide as a reason for disfellowshipping.

has it ever been removed?

Sheeesh , I would never have thought of this as a DF offence or a reason for a JC meeting..How heartless can this organization be ? For someone to reach the depths of despair to contemplate taking their own life and acting on it regardless of what the motive behind it is ,they need help and compassion and not a big stick threatening to DF them or put restrictions on them at a JC meeting which would only drive them deeper into despair.

And they call themselves" Shepherds of the Flock" ?

one of my jw sons seems to be putting pressure on his non-jw brother apparently to scare him into accepting the troof and start coming to meetings.

wild statements like our topic title, which i know are not supported at jw dot org, have been made to my non-jw son several times over the past year or so.

while i haven't been privy to the actual phone conversations i tend to believe that the jw son is being pressured by the local elders to cut ties with the non-jw since their conversations seem to degrade into arguments -- therefore tending to weaken the jws faith in wt teachings.. either my jw son is lying about what i would call rogue teachings (and this would disappoint me greatly) or he is in some close knit clique in his congregation which has secretly chosen to go rogue on certain wt issues.. based on many of the recent posts here about drastic money and wt organization problems this could be a sign of pending splits of certain congregation members.. what do you think?

I wouldn`t think so with only about 1/3rd of the worlds population having ever been preached to and as every hour of the day goes by the ratio of JW`s to the population gets wider and wider ,making it harder and harder for the words of Jesus to ever be accomplished.

It hasnt been acheived in 103 years of Jesus Christ rule so far and does not look like it could ever happen with the winding down of so many JW activities.

And as I have indicated before JW`s have always only been riding on the backs of Christendom poaching off of them for their members ,never entering into virgin territory where Christendom has never been before them.

Jehovah`s Witnesses are true parasites in the true sense of the word.

So for the next 6 thousand years Satan had free range of shifting between heaven and earth with no other penalties on him or his followers .No suffering ,no death ,no indignity`s ,no anything.

except for some future punishment thousands of years in the future no doubt.

How does that compare with Adam & Eve ? They were immediately sentenced to a life of misery outside of Gods favour and so were their offspring to what we see today 6,000 years later of misery , disease ,indignity`s ,suffering and ,death .

No normal parent today would put their child through any suffering of any sort for a minute however Jehovah God has put his children through the worst of sufferings for thousands of years.

Wasn`t Satan the original apostate ? If anything he should have recieved the more heavier sentence.

I hope they never ever turn things around .I don`t want them to reform or change their ways ,I want them to go into oblivion if that`s at all possible.(though I doubt it will happen in the near foreseeable future)

The damage they have done to millions of people with their policy`s since their inception in the late 1800`s ,and (that is no exaggeration saying millions) ,reform or change in policy`s now would not do justice for all the suffering and wrongs that have been endured by members over all these years and is still being endured by members and there family`s still under the control of this sect.
