I'm full of them lol. Yeah I know how you feel! I was exactly the same until I gradually started getting angrier and angrier at the teachings.
Onwards and upwards
so i just watched a documentary on netflix called "the end of the world cult" about some geezer named wayne bent (self proclaimed as michael travesser).
some of the stuff this guy says is absolutely unbelievable, and made me seriously think that there are some god awful cults out there, and made me think my time in the jw's (however boring and restrictive) wasn't all so bad... has anyone else seen this?
does anyone have any recommendations on other documentaries of the like??

I suppose you're right Blondie.
Kind of like "I'm sorry you got herpes, but on the bright side, at least it's better than HIV..."

I was going to ask that myself...
i have not seen jehovah’s witnesses in my neighborhood for several years now.
it appears that the cart witnessing has taken over.
congregations are being consolidated and witnesses are being forced to travel a greater distance than before.the burdens/privileges of elders seem to be ever increasing!.
I remember when I did the cart once, we put it against the wall of a viaduct, en route to one of the least busy train stations in the whole area. It was pouring with rain so we just sat in the car while over the course of 2 hours about 3 or 4 people ran straight past the cart and into the train station. Did have a really nice steak and ale pie though so not a total waste.
i posted this a while ago and i was asked for it again recently, which made me think of putting it back here for any newer members.. please find a link that is active for one month which lists the jw teachings which have been changed back and forth.. flip flop pdf.
it was this alone which made me realise the wt are clueless, imperfect guessers at doctrine, so why do they deserve to be followed.
(spoiler: they don't deserve to be.
Works for me! Thank you. Did have a good old laugh about the "Questions from our readers" section that says, is it wrong for a pet to receive a blood transfusion... And it is! 😂.
what you will not be told at the door bythe jehovah’s witnesses.
the jehovah’s witness (or watchtower bible and tract society) have made the followingpredictions which appear in their own literature:.
1. that jesus would return by 1874. when jesus failed to appear, the witnesses claimedthat it was an unseen, spiritual return.
Point 7 is interesting, not heard of that one before I'll have to look it up!!!
hi everyone, i got the news that the lawsuit against the watchtower for the child abuse issue has been accepted in quebec(canada).
that means it can proceed further.
it is a first victory.
I'm not sure they are wanting to blame the WTBS. The only person responsible *FOR THE ABUSE* is the abuser. And they will be dealt with as per the norm. However on many occasions the victims and the families will go to the elders before the authorities. Similar to the way a child may go to a teacher before the police or parents. This then puts the duty of care on the elders to report this as required by law. If they don't report it to the proper authorities then this would constitute negligence.
Just my thoughts.
hi there this is my first post as i’m not sure what to do.
my family (both sides) are well known in our circuit and very dedicated to the truth.
but we’re relatively normal people and i love them all so much.
At least then you'll have plausible deniability. Feel like Walter White saying that....

I agree with fastJehu.
My uncle who is also a fader, told me the best way to go about it for me was to play the "I have lots of personal issues" card. and to iterate that I don't want to talk about them with anyone other than my grandfather who is an elder or my mum or dad who used to be an elder. May be of help if you get approached by other elders.
Hope you can figure something out
