->is it fair/just/loving that innocent children be punished for their parent's wrongdoings etc...?
a passage from the new book released @ the dc p.131-2.
"(malachi 4:1) in that day of accounting, young children (boughs) will be dealt with justly according to jehovah's assessment of their parents (roots), who are responsible for minor children.
It is about guilt. They can't get all the control with fear so they try for the rest with guilt.

yep, thats right, haunted.
i have never had a dwelling place with so many unexplained noise and goings on.
lights that have been turned off, magically turn back on and visa versa.
So if it is about tapping into the collective consciousness, why do we need the board to do it?? Why can't any of us just do it any time we want? If I want to know what someone else knows, I should just be able to ask and presto, there it is.
And then there was the time the board starting giving information that no one had asked for pertaining to an event that would be in the newspaper the following day. It had not happened yet so none of us knew it.
So then the board should be able to tell Steve who is in his apartment because even if it is a spirit, it would be part of this collective consciousness and his knowledge would be shared whether he liked it or not.

If it is temors in the hands, then how is it that the board answers questions that those using the board do not have the answer to?
Years ago, in my pre-JW days, I had a board that my husband and I found entertaining. A teenage boy in the neighborhood said he did not believe it and if it were really able to tell answers, then it could tell us his middle name. We had just met him and had NO WAY of knowing his middle name. The Board spelled out "LWOOD". You should have seen the look on his face . His middle name in fact was Elwood, but the board always spelled things the easiest way. So even if my whole body had been tremoring, it would not have caused his middle name to be spelled. So I do not buy that theory.
Of course I threw the board out when I found THE TRUTH!

for those that don't know, my wife and i moved away from our family and friends to fade away.
my mom and her new uber-elder husband with gb connections have been spreading it around where we are from that he is going to send a couple of elders to my house for spiritual "assistance".
so, everytime an unfamiliar car comes up my driveway a small wave of dread comes over me as the car gets closer.
Many years ago I was with my husband conducting a bible study when the doorbell rang. It was a couple of Baptists. As they went through their presentation, they were using the same scriptures to prove what they were saying that we were using in the bible study to prove what we were saying. That one really hit me!
I have used that since when Mormons or Baptists or jws come to the door. I ask them how they know what they have is the truth and they always say because the scriptures prove it. Then I tell them that the others who come to my door use those same scriptures to prove they have the truth. It always leaves them without a comment for a few minutes. Simple statement. Seed planted!!
They can't all be right, but they can all be wrong.

Many years ago there was a big commotion in the congregation because the PO had taken quite a beating at the door from someone who knew their stuff. He was unable to prove anything the guy said was wrong. The thing was, it planted a seed in my mind that if what we really had was the truth, then what took place simply could not have happened. The PO is still going strong, but my family is long gone.
In another instance, a sister made the comment to me that it is pretty hard to believe all the elders are spirit appointed. That really got me thinking. She is still in there "taking direction". But we are long gone.
My point is that we may wonder why these people don't wake up when this stuff is right in front of them, but we are not realizing how many other people are tucking that information away and not saying anything at the time. Then, as Blondie said, it gets watered every now and then and they end up growing into a full bloom apostate
So I agree with Blondie, pick a subject that does not take a lot of explaining, don't try to get deep because they tune you out before you get to the good stuff, just give them something to chew on, something that will be brought back to mind every once in a while.

can you recall your earlier history of falling in love?
what do you think about those experiences now?
when i think of them i judge them as having been totally vain and naive and having made me too narrow minded, passive and dependant on other people.
I met my husband at a school dance in our freshman year. Dated all through high school, got married and just had our 40th anniversary.
We were in our mid 20s when we got sucked into the Cult. Been out for 6 years now.
We are coming up on 60 and have spent 2/3 of our lives together.
There was a boy in 8th grade. We went steady. He still sneaks into my dreams now and then............
I wonder if he has had a happy life. I hope so.

Tell "it" to go to the light. It is time to go home.
My son built a new house and right away when they moved in, they started hearing children other than their own. They would hear them on the baby monitor while the baby was sleeping upstairs and their own children were downstairs. They would awaken at night to the sound of children running around their bedroom laughing and playing. Their two year old starting talking about his new friend "Dewey." One night when my son got up in the night for a snack, he saw Dewey also. Dewey went with them everywhere except to my house. When I asked my little grandson why he did not come along to my house, he said that Dewey did not like me.
They sold that house a year ago. The new owners now have it back up for sale. That was in the Phoenix AZ area, known for that kind of activity. My one dog used to watch something move around the house a lot in AZ. . Here in Texas he does not often do that.
In my mother's house, she started hearing the phone ring in her bedroom. She did not have a phone in her bedroom. Then she started hearing someone going up and down the stairs, but it was a one story house. So she sold it to someone who wanted to remodel it into college apartments. They ended up tearing it down.

after replying to a recent thread, it made me think:
i`ll bet that there are some wacky elder experiences out there.
what was the wackiest thing you saw an elder do or say?
The conducting elder wanted to call on the visiting sister sitting in the back row. She had big dimples in her cheeks. He instead called on "the sister in the back with the big nipples".
Another elder on the platform referred to someone as a "Polock" and then laughed at himself for the slip.

Where I live, garage sales are not allowed, but there is a web site locally where garage sales online are posted. It is great. I sold a lot of stuff last week in preparation for our move to Colorado. I just sit back and read the e-mails and send them info and they come buy the stuff. We had a big screen TV to sell, and it did sell right away, but then I get this e-mail:
Hellow Seller,
I got your advert on your for sale (Big Screen TV) and I am ready to buy it from you at that amount (price need). I will want you to get back to me withy present condition and I will like you to know that my mode of payment will be certified cheque and so that I can arrange for the payment in time. Hope to read from you soonest.
Regards
Immediately I remembered that when we were still in Phoenix, it was in the newspaper that a couple had a car to sell and a guy online told them he would buy it for full price with a certified check. It turned out to be a phoney check from a Nigerian and the couple were out their money.
They do that on ebay as well. Certified checks mean nothing these days. Cash, only cash!
