I found this site when looking for JWR - do we know what actually happened with it? I too had some posts on there that I would've liked to reflect back on. I've been an ex-jw for 6 years now - and probably and ex-ex-jw for 5 years, so I missed this when it was happening.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses a cult just as evil and dangerous as Islam?
by cookiemaster ini know you might think i'm exaggerating but if you really think about it, maybe i'm not.
these two religions originate with the same ancient belief system.
islam is a dangerous middle eastern cult that seeks to control every aspect of its members' lives.

Ah, I just got to the inevitable part of any discussion on the topic of Islam where "THE CRUSADES" is mentioned to somehow justify what Islam is putting the world through in the 21st century.
I guess this just comes about by people's belief that all religions are created equal, and that all doctrines produce the same result. This myth is so dumb, it's almost embarrassing that it has to be explained to people that are old enough to use a web browser.
For one the Crusades are getting close to 1000 years ago - you're also ignoring the fact that many people at that time were illiterate and unable to even read the Bible. You're also ignoring the fact Islamic aggression was one of the reasons FOR the crusades. And frankly, thank Allah that the Crusades were successful in this regard. If you think to live under a Christian theocracy is equally as bad as it would be under an Islamic theocracy, you clearly haven't done your homework on either religion.

Just referring to 'fundamentalism' - I'm sure the point has been made, but JW's are basically fundamentalist Christians - they take the Bible as the literal word of the creator of the universe. They put too much emphasis on some things, and less on others (e.g. blood)
ISIS are fundamentalist Muslims. They're practising what their Prophet set out for them 1400 years ago. The clear issue with Islam is that, while Jesus's message was mostly pacifism and non-violence - turn the other cheek, forgiveness, pay back Ceasar's things to Ceasar, etc - Mohammed's example was extremely brutal and totalitarian - slavery, mass killing, raping, mutilation child molesting etc.
So yes, JW's and ISIS members are both fundamentalists. The issue is with the fundamentals themselves.
Frankly kind of sick of people who claim that all religions are equal.

The Watchtower and Islam
by Hecce ina few times we have commented in the forum about the lack of information in the watchtower publications about the islamic religion.
we have to go back to 1951 to find a very comprehensive analysis of mohamed and his religion that is in the book “what has religion done for mankind?”.. this subject is discussed on page 278 and chapter 22, under the title “islam, mohamed religion of submission”.
the information is written with the watchtower detailed style for those days and there is a lot of history to be learn in that chapter.

Learning about Islam made me realise that being raised as a JW wasn't that bad.
The level of indoctrination & brainwashing in Islam actually makes the WTBS look like amateurs. Couple that with the support from their 'holy texts' for violence and domination, it is no wonder that every Muslim majority country has major issues with human rights.
