"Everything else is left to state and local governments. In this
scenario New York and Mississippi can deal with their problems as they
see fit."
Yeah, worked wonderfully between 1865 and 1964.
But seriously. Nothing about civil rights for example appears in that list. Was that the Federal Government overstepping the exact words in the constitution? Should we have just marched on for all eternity as if Article 1 section 8 were handed down by god himself?

Ron DeSantis: "We do not require assistance. The people of Florida will rebuild on our own"
by BettyHumpter inas if.no, of course he's already asking for federal aid.
it's the republican way.
florida needs the rest of the country to pitch in taxpayer dollars because it's different when it happens to me.

"Obviously Republicans opposed this straight up political favoritism and government handouts disguised as aid".
"Straight up" is not the word you are looking for. The correct word is "imaginary".
Here is an interesting article detailing what actually happened in 2012.
Also, Gov. Christie claimed 37 Billion in New Jersey, not 65.

"Is it me, or does that map show that around half of all Americans are crammed into the northeast? We really did a shitty job of dispersing."
I watched an interesting short documentary on YouTube recently about how 80% or about 250 million Americans live East of the 100th meridian.
The other 20% of 'Westerner's" live on a fairly narrow band along the Pacific Ocean, with the exception of Las Vegas and Phoenix, AZ.
I knew the western US was empty but didn't grasp just how empty. Anyways, the documentary went into how the Sierra Nevada's and Rocky Mountains act as a wall to incoming weather systems off the Pacific and therefore why those areas are so sparsely populated and why the few population centers that do exist rely on spring snow melt from said mountain ranges for their water supply.
Still not nearly as empty as Australia, where a population of only 25 million lives on a land area almost as big as the lower 48 -

@punkofnice:
Why do you assume that particular story about women reporting sexual harassment is a fake narrative?
Would you be more inclined to believe the accusations if you heard Lloyd Evans was now working in Antarctica? :) -

https://www.moneygeek.com/living/states-most-reliant-federal-government/
Key Findings:
- Eight of the 10 states most dependent on the federal government were Republican-voting, with the average red state receiving $1.35 per dollar spent.
- Nine states sent more to the federal government than they received — seven of these were Democrat-voting and had higher per capita GDPs than many of the red states that received the most.
- New Mexico had the highest return on federal spending of any state ($4.33), and Delaware had the lowest ($0.63).
- The eight states receiving the highest child tax credit per capita were all Republican-voting.
Red States Lead With Federal Dependence
Democratic-voting blue states tend to be wealthier and pay more to the federal government than they get. In contrast, Republican-voting red states tend to have less wealth and receive more federal government funds than they pay. In the MoneyGeek rankings, 8 of the 10 most dependent states are considered red states.

No. They congregate in states like Mississippi and accept aid from liberal states where the jobs actually are while complaining against it and spending their money on red MAGAt caps. :)

"There is a growing feeling from some right-wing commentators such as Lauren Chen that the US should split into two new independent countries - one Republican, the other Democrat."
Such a split would be pretty messy. The divide is mostly Urban vs Rural. So while you may have a state that is 'Republican', it's major cities may be majority democrat. How you gonna split that up?Also:

It looks like a cramped conference room at a shitty Holiday Inn for a Dentist's conference.
It's strange to me how they never got the importance of architecture to the human psyche. I'm not talking about building a St. Peters. I mean many 'humble' protestant churches make an effort to be aesthetically pleasing and to convey the importance of what the believers feel the buildings purpose is.
I've had to go to my non-JW grandparents church on several occasions for weddings, funerals etc. Vaulted roof, but timber framed. Stained glass. A bit stuffy feeling, actually. But, even though i'm not a believer, it does give a certain feeling of permanence. I remember attending a cousin's wedding and thinking my grandparents were married in that same spot, and not only that, my grandmothers grandmother was married in that same spot.
A Kingdom Hall wedding or funeral may as well be taking place in conference room 3 at _____ Corp Inc.
