England Vs Brazil, 0230hrs and A White Rabbit ....
by invisible inlife, what a strange and wonderful thing she is.
here we are 2:30am in the morning, the kickoff between england and brazil starts in only 5 hours time, you walk out of a mates house after watching the news, usual warring factions, israel and palestine, india and pakistan ad finitum, (why they can't just play cricket, i just don't know), then the other bit about the arabic conversations taped on the 10th of september, not deciphered until the 12th, and whatknot, well, like i was saying, walked out my mates house and spent the next several minutes chasing this white bunny rabbit up a steep hill, (which had obviously escaped from someones garden), i thought, england win, england lose, someone in the morning is going to be upset either way.
i get home and am on the phone to the police telling them (just prior to the all important football match) that this white rabbit is heading for marlborough road.

I love how they tout the principles of the U.S. constitution when convenient. For ones despising government of men, they sure do like its benefits. Good thing they also have no regard for those who fought and died to protect their freedom of speech.

'' but my question is: is such casual off-hand use of the divine name really respectful?
i mean, the vast majority of us well know the names of our parents; but just how respectful would it be to go around referring to them as ``harry'' and ``alice?".

Is It Fair To Discipline Born-Into-It's?
by Englishman ina born-into-it teenager or maybe someone in their early 20's, gets df'd for an unspecified offence.
later the df'd person protests that df'ing is unscriptural and inhumane, only to be told "you knew the score, you knew what would happen, it's your fault".. but is it?
maybe it might be fairer for a converted person to be df'd for breaking the rules, after all, a converted person has joined the jw's willingly and has therefore accepted the witness rules.

Affirmation from another born-and-raised. Belief systems are formed upon information we gather. If all that we gather from infancy is JW doctrine then all of our decisions will be based upon those "facts" as we have come to know them. There can be no "choice".
Children are told what to think and how to feel about religion and then life in general. There is little choosing involved. There is only the choice to please or not to please your parents (and therefore God).
Not just the Dubs, I see the same thing in the LDS church, Islam, Baptists, any fundies.
The discipline may even harsher for born-and-raised since members may take it more personally after having watched us grow up in the org. then reject it. We were so "fortunate" to have been born right into the truth and practically had salvation thrown into our laps. To turn away when we get older probably stings those who held out so much "hope" for us, especially parents.

the u.s. has beat mexico 2-0. for those of you who don't know me i used to play soccer.. i even went to the world cup.. this is the only time i went to the world cup.
so you know, i'm the guy in the green stripes.. needless to say i've not played soccer since.. .

Can You Feel My Pain?

this august 7th i leave the u.s. and fly to rio de janeiro and will be coming back late january or should time provide, mid march.
i dread staying untill march, because of carnival...i know, i know...terrible, absolutely terrible.
