WHAT DO YOU KNOW THAT NOBODY ELSE KNOWS?
by Terry ini happen to think quite a few intelligent people have cornered the market on certain information.. when you are around other intelligent people you find in talking with them that you are incredibly more well informed about certain subjects than other people are.
in fact, you might know things that nobody else knows anything about.. tell me what it is that you know.. i have some really quirky things i know.
but, what do you know that sets you apart?

'Ray'
by WildHorses ini loved it!
i would be laughing my ass off one minute and crying the next, then tapping my feet to the beat of his music the next.. ray didn't hold any of the truth back, even his bad points were there for all to see.
and as for jaime foxx, he definately deserves an oscar.

Haven't seen it yet but definitely will.
A couple months back, at two different movies I saw the trailer for Ray at the theater. Both times there was a dude sitting down front that found himself clapping at the end. Must have been moved, I guess.
That fellow was me. Even watching the trailer I knew the film would be great and Jamie's performance exceptional. Can't wait to see it.

It's just one test among thousands he'll take. Hopefully in the future he'll not make the horrendous mistake of capitalizing his spelling words. I wouldn't get worked up about it.
Smart kid. -

Study puts civilian toll in Iraq at over 100,000
by Simon intragic.
remember the neo-con jokes such as "shock and awe" and "precision bombing"?
how about the rediculous notion that you only need a couple of hundred thousand troops to control an invaded country?
-

I doubt that Bush or Rummy or Cheney or Wolfowitz or Rice spend a lot of time thinking about "a handful" of dead Iraqis. Why would they?

Did Rutherford believe what he wrote?
by VM44 inwho thinks "judge" rutherford really believed what he wrote?.
i believe it was in the salter letter where it is stated that rutherford said once that he had "bluffed his way through life".
think he also "bluffed" his way when writing and talking about "the theocracy"?

It's been a while ? years, actually ? since I've read anything by the Judge, but at the time of my exit I couldn't help but feel that the man knew what he was doing. He was a lawyer... a veritable wolf among sheep. Seeing how he discredited the majority of the WTS Board members, subsequently gained absolute control of a screwy religious movement, and in the end lived a lavish, carefree lifestyle on two coasts tells me that while he was most likely a morally flawed individual, he was no fool.

Blacks and Voting

Robatty,
There's a lot I could say on the subject of Mr. Jesse Jackson, but I'll sum up my thoughts on the subject by simply saying that IMO there is in Hell a special ring of fire reserved for charlatans like him. He has never, is not now, nor will he ever do anything of meritorious distinction for Black people... or anybody else, for that matter.
The absurdity of the idea that Kerry (or anyone associated with him) is yet another in a long line of politicians who's put Mr. Jackson on the payroll is staggering. Even more daunting is the feeling that in the US, in 2004, there are Blacks who actually are still moved by the man. -

the problem with blacks today is eveyone wants to tell the story of how "whitey" did them wrong, nothing wrong with that cause most blacks can indeed tell the story including myself, but to keep BI**&ing and MOANING ABOUT whitey "Ain't" helping the cause -
when one looks at the data of black wealth it is embaraasing to see how much $$$$$ flows thru our hands and communities- we can find the Phat Farm, Tommy wear- Cognac, the Esclades, and every hip hop song around, yet when it comes to the more important things we fail to step up to the plate-My goodness, JT!
If I didn't know better, I'd say there was a little bit of self-loathing going there.
At the beginning of the thread, Mecurious simply asked why blacks don't vote. Did you even come close to commenting on his question?
