You're right, Mini. Different elders rule differently. Go figure.

My Brother Can't Even Do Microphone Duty Because He Went To My Kid's Weddin
by minimus inmy mother just told me that my brother was told by his elders that because he attended my daughter's wedding, he was not going to be allowed any privileges, including "handling the microphones".
my elder friend that also went to the wedding told me he was being deleted too.

Well, Mini, did it surprise you?were you shocked??when your brother had all of his privileges removed? Did it surprise you when your elder friend was deleted? If so, why? Don't you have a clue?
And btw, Chris (not "Chris") has gone out of his way to befriend me since then. I've forgiven him. As a loyal Jw, he did what he had to do. I understand the JW mentality. Understood it then. That's sorta my point. You should try it. Understanding, I mean.
Getting on here and crying about stuff that you shoulda known would happen is kinda silly, don't-cha think? Or are you just playing some sort of game? -

When I was df'd, my best friend (I was his best man when he got married) didn't speak to me the couple of times our paths crossed during that 6-month period. Chris didn't even acknowledge my presence. Didn't look my way.
I was hurt... deeply... but not shocked. I had been a JW my whole life and knew what he would likely do. When he did it, I wasn't surprised.
Mini will have to face reality one day. He'll find that, facing reality sooner is better than facing it later.
JWs do what they do. Mini, a former elder, should know that better than any. I guess he still has things to learn about the JW religion. -

You've never seen a body of elders make rules as they go? And you were an elder for how long, Mini?

Weird DREAMS ...
by frenchbabyface in.... weird dreams.
i'm afraid to think that some particular dreams have a meaning, it's like my intuition talking to me.
i do not always understand their meaning from the start, but later it happen that i can see exactly what they meant (one lately was quiet interesting to realised about the why's and the what exactly).

Dreams have relevant meaning. I'm convinced of that. They are the sub-conscious mind's way of communicating things we need to know. The problem is that dream's true relevance can only be ascertained only by the dreamer.
For example, you saidI'm sleeping and get waked up by scratches on my windows,
I very tired I don't feel to answer in anyway but I turn my head on the window sides and first of she shutter are oppen (most of the time they are not) ...Scratches? Windows? You're tired and the shutters are open? There are two fingers in the hole? There is a brutal tearing away at the curtains?
Someone who doesn't know you or your particular circumstances can make a subjective analysis, but that analysis would likely turn out to be one that has nothing to do with your experience.
If you think about it long enough, the truth will reveal itself. I believe that. -

Mini,
Seems that, as a former elder, you'd inform all these JW relatives of yours how the game is played -- saving them heartache -- instead of telling us of the consequences that befall them when they *don't* play the game.
Why don't you? Help them, I mean? -

The Polar Express
by teejay inthe movie jibed very well with thoughts i've been mulling recently.
i wish, i wish, i wish i were a believer.... .

With all due respect, for me the movie transcended "spirituality," "religion," Santa Claus or any such catch phrases. It involved a place beyond words. I do hope, one day, to be where you appear to be, however. Still... I'm not optimistic.

Thanksgiving request
by NKyGuy inso i suppose i should give a little background here first, since i am not very regular here.
i was in "the truth" for a number of years, my wife with me, progressing nicely and was even a ministerial servant.
however, after a while i just couldn't do it anymore.

I think I will set it out as a situation of I am going, and I am taking the kids with me, and if she wants to come she can. Otherwise, she will spend the day at home, alone.
Regardless, I cannot continue to exclude my family from the things I enjoyed as a child. Especially when I cannot find a scriptural basis for not doing so.Good for you, NkyGuy! You have nothing to lose and your children only have things to gain.
When it came to Thanksgiving, I made up my mind lonnnng time ago: I would not deny my daughter the sublime pleasure of basking in the love, the warmth, the closeness of FAMILY that is always there, but feelings we seldom feel due to the hustle and bustle of everyday life and time constraints.
If at no other time, Thanksgiving Day is the one day of the year when we can live life to the full, with not a care in the world. I will not deny myself the experience. Not for me. Not for my daughter. No way. -

I'm with you, NKyGuy. It took decades of missing it, but now-a-days Thanksgiving has (easily) become my favorite holiday of the year -- my favorite time of the year. I now experience what (so-called) "worldly" people have enjoyed since forever.
My JW wife is the only one in her family who is a JW. Everybody else on her side of the family loves it that I've come into their family, because now they see their daughter/sister/aunt (my wife) every once in a while on the holidays. If she can, my wife "forgets" it's Thanksgiving. That's fine. I always remember.
I simply told her years ago that she doesn't have to go. She doesn't have to participate in the festivities. After being a JW for thirty years, I told her I understood where she was coming from. But my daughter and I would go. Period.
She (my wife) can go out in service, to a movie, shop, sleep, clean the house ? whatever she wants to do with the day off. Me and the kid are going to go get our eat on with the family. And watch the parades. And football. All day. Do what other regular people do. "See ya later" was my attitude, and I meant it to the bottom of my soul.
Know what? Wife goes with us every year. And enjoys herself btw. Watching her, you'd never know she was a Dub.
Good luck. And Happy Thanksgiving.
