dark mommie,
I just spoke with roamingfeline. It made me think of you...
I see that you have gone missing from this thread after quite boisterously barging your way in. It's highly regrettable that you, in your refusal to answer the simple questions that I have put to you, have not taken me up on my offer to expose who the real imbecile is.
Check my previous note, not the one where I was calling for your missing ass. You'll find that I suggested this, your present course of action. Part of me is sorry that you aren't as dumb as you first appeared. I was looking forward, believe me I was, to further interchanges with you. Perhaps another time, down the road.
Hopefully this will be lesson enough for you to keep your juvenile, trashy mouth closed when it comes to topics of which you have absolutely no clue. Hopefully the lesson you have just been taught will serve you best in the real world, helping you to escape more immediate and persuasive exhortations to shut the hell up.
It's one thing to hurl insults... any dumb ass can do that, as you've demonstrated. Backing them up? That's a whole 'nuther thang, stupid. It's a mighty fine thing that one such as you, even in your depths of ignorance, can see the difference.
Take care now, hear?

What if a person has been told that red apples are not as sweet?
What if, after being told that, they decide to believe it without investigating it for themselves?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------on the other hand...
What if they decide to investigate, but in biting into one of the only red apples they've ever seen, they happen to bite, without noticing, into the side that has the worm in it?
What if they then decide that all red apples taste bitter?
What if they pass along to others, loudly proclaiming what they THINK they know, their opinion about red apples?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Nice fairy tale. REALLY nice ending!
What a lovely world we'd have if only people would practice what they preach.

Hello troubled,
I just got home from work. You say you've dominated the board today. I haven't seen any of your other posts, just this one. It got my attention. Please bear with me...
I was raised in the truth and so didn't go to college after high school. In the summer of 2000, twenty-five years after my high school graduation, I decided to go back to school. One of the classes I'm taking now in my second year is Introductory Psychology. Last night, LAST NIGHT, in our lesson about psychological disorders, we talked about suicide.
I don't know exactly how you feel, but I have a good idea. I've been in a similar place.
It's a long story and goes back almost twenty years to when my first marriage was ending, a horrible time, lots of bad feelings and no friends... a lot of time alone... right now I won't bore you with the details, but for some reason I made the decision not to go through with it. Since then, it's been somewhat of an interest of mine--what leads people to that place. There are various reasons, not all of them concrete even in the minds of people who study the phenomenon.
I don't know quite how to answer you, but I deeply believe, I am almost absolutely certain, that the god of the Watchtower Society is not real. He is not the judgmental, goal oriented being that constantly checks to see if people are doing everything they are 'supposed' to. Since becoming a parent, I REALLY disbelieve that a creator who loves his creation in any way close to the love I have for my daughter would not exhibit the disposition and feelings toward people that Brooklyn Bethel says Jehovah does toward humankind.
Personally, I must tell you, I question whether or not there IS as god. But if I'm wrong, the god that I think exists is very merciful. Those on the brink of ending it all are in a unique place, beyond the understanding of most people. I didn't understand it myself for a long time until certain events came together in my life and I felt totally helpless and totally miserable.
I will say this, though:
Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, and the problem IS temporary, though it may not seem like it right now. Mine was... so is yours. I'm not saying the problem will end today, or this week. Hell, it may not even end this YEAR, but it will end, I can guarantee you that. Life gets better. It's not all dark days.
Email me at [email protected]. I'll give you my phone number if you want. Take your time. We're here for you.
peace,

To Active COs/DOs
by Maximus ina major news organization is in final process of preparing a tv program addressing the issues raised by silentlambs.
its producers and investigator reporters wish to be fair and unbiased, and are seeking broad input and insight.. another such organization has been attracted to the child abuse issue but does not wish to duplicate what's covered.
they are in the initial stages of examining the blood issue and that of enforced shunning and its consequences, in the light of human rights issues globally.

In 1970, my big brother took me to see the movie Tora! Tora! Tora!. One of the lines that I remember from the movie is a Japanese official's ominous prophecy to his countrymen. He said that the bombing of Pearl Harbor only served to awaken a sleeping giant.
JW.com has witnessed the same in this thread. Godspeed to you, Max, and men of like conscience. Do some good, and hurry.

Nature/nurture in homosexuality
by Introspection ini wanted to ask the gay and lesbian members of the board about the whole nature and nurture issue with homosexuality.
i suppose when you're looking at things this way it's usually a matter of how the two interact, and not so much that it's x% or all of one or the other.
but i guess some practical questions are, did you become gay or was it a matter of realizing you were gay all your life?

Joel,
Do you remember the name of that thread that discussed this topic? It was about a month (maybe two) ago. It went for days. I was thinking jayhawk might be interested in reading it.

Isn't it amazing, Teej, just how much malice folks have in their hearts? I mean, you would think folks could disagree, without becoming abusive... and just plain hateful, yes? But, then, what can you expect... they learned QUITE well from their 'father'... and his 'agents'. Ah, well... moving on.
It IS amazing, Shelby. It amazes the hell outta me ('scuse my French). I don't know about the "their father" part, but they learned it from somewhere, that's for sure. But whatcha gone do? <g>
After I said that "I know that I have never heard a voice out of the invisible communicate with someone I was with" you said "It doesn?t work that way. It is not a ?voice with words?."
When I used my daughter as an example, you said And you talk to her using your PHYSICAL body... and she HEARS... with her physical body. God, Teejay... is not a PHYSICAL being. He is a SPIRIT. So, in order to SPEAK to Him and HEAR Him... you must do it... in SPIRIT (Lord, what is so HARD about this?)
Well, sorry for making things hard. If you like we can discontinue the discussion, but really it's like anything else that I've never done. The first time's always the hardest, until you get it figured out. Again, sorry. I'll assume you wish to continue...
I understand the difference between physical communication and spiritual communication. Makes sense. I got no problem with it. But (and here's a big but), BUT it shouldn't make a difference with god--if communication is really the goal--since he made me and he's trying to talk to me, he should be the one doing the bending, not me.
By way of illustration, in talking to my daughter I could use words she would not understand. I could even speak to her in another language. I could fault her for her lack of understanding, but would that be fair or make sense? Yet, based on what you say, god seems to be doing that in speaking to me in a spiritual "voice" when I have not learned to communicate that way. Who's at fault? I think god is.
I said that as far as I knew, no one had ever heard god's voice when I was with them. You said they had and I had but I "didn?t LISTEN and neither did they." That's kind of a presumptuous thing to say, don't you think?
I think I will ignore your suggestion of polling the board (i asked Mulan on this thread since she said that understanding you wasn't that hard... she hears him, too? and she never got back to me) but I think polling my family and friends and others in r/l is a good idea. I encounter at least 200 people everyday. I'll take a random poll. I'll get back to you.
I said: I guess god isn't like that with his children. In order for most of us to hear god to talk to us we have to want it real bad.
You: LOL! (Shaking head)... believe that if you want, Teejay. If it will assuage your need NOT to hear what has been said to you, go for it. Do it YOUR way. But you won?t hear if you do. This amazes me:
Me, too. I only said what I said because that's the way it seems. If you must shake your head incredulously, then you must, but I'm trying to understand. I think a big problem would vanish if your Lord just talked to me. Or revealed something to me in a dream... dreams are nice. Why does god need a middle man? Why does your lord need YOU to talk to ME?
When I asked if he ever tells jokes you said that "he has a GREAT sense of humor. Actually, they?re funnier than we are." Care to pass along one of his funnier jokes, or would I not get it?
I demonstrated what I did with my daughter, using different words when she didn't understand instead of getting frustrated and giving up. I said, "When that happens, I don't go, "oh, forget it... you're not listening" or "you just don't understand." Instead, I use different words or patiently repeat what I said -- maybe lead her by the hand or demonstrate by my own actions what I mean. Before long, there's real communication -- my daughter understands!
You said that your Lord was "trying to do that NOW. That is why I am your ?servant?, to help you DO this. I cannot speak for my Lord? I can only speak what he TELLS me to tell you? and lead to HIM? so that he can take over."
Now that! THAT right there is exactly what I'm talking about. Why the need for an interpreter? You already noted that you aren?t special, none of those anointed are special in any way. In other words, you don't have something I'm missing. If god... er, the Lord is just, every person alive has the "equipment" to communitcate with him. Why can't your Lord show ME? What's up with that? You say "check your heart." You say I don't hear because I don't want to. But you're wrong.

Gee, dark mommie, did I get under your skin or what?!! My goodness, take a pill girlfriend! Alls I did was comment on your wholly defamatory observation of Larsguy, however that is. I don't know him (?) or his theology. Is he insane? I don't know that, either. Might be.
Whatever my opinion of him will be, I can say this: It will be based on my own observation and certainly not on the observation of one as ignorant (without knowledge) as you have demonstrated in MY case. You see, without knowing anything more about you other than the two posts you've addressed to me, you have demonstrated that you form very deep opinions about people (in my case--me) with extremely little (if not exactly zero) knowledge. If that works for you, if you wish to stumble thru life categorizing total strangers, well... fine, but I think it's a terribly stupid thing to do, that's all. You've done it with me... I'm thinking maybe you did it with Larsguy as well.
Tell you what... here's your chance to prove me wrong, an opportunity that I think you will pass up (you probably should considering you've already rammed your foot half-way down your own throat -- better to leave well-enough alone, eh? <g>), but here goes...
You said:
As for your daughter, I feel so sorry for that kid, she will never draw a free breath or think a free thought...On what do you base that assumption?
You said that I was a "frightened
sad
ittle
sexist
asshole"
On what do you base that opinion? Oh, you can forget the "asshole"... from what i heard, you slipped up and complimented me, considering that's a positive. Moving on...
You hoped that she ditches my, how did you say it... let's see... my "authoritarian assholery when she's of an age to get out from under your thumb."
Would you be so kind as to define [i]"authoritarian"[i] as it applies to me and fits in that (your) sentence?
Laughing right in your stupid face
Oh, my! <g>I have a better idea (once you get done laughing!), an idea that I think is going to be a lot more fun and wholly worthwhile. Let's see who's REALLY stupid, shall we? <g>
