growing up as a jw in the 1960s and 1970s, a common refrain from the yearbook, local elders and circuit overseers was how jws were protected at meetings, conventions, and in the field service by "the angels".

experiences of "divine intervention" during service, ww2, in communist lands, and conventions were common.

the internet and google are regularly debunking this myth in the 21st century.

We had an experience some months back when 2 sisters were out in field service.
Driving in a semi - rural area a tree suddenly came crashing down and crushed their car as they were driving along. They were killed! If they had been driving just a little slower or faster they would still be alive today. Just another example of the precarious nature of our day to day lives!

Hip replacement on Monday. Wish me luck.

as the title says i'm having a total hip replacement on monday.

the pain has grown over the years and now i'm using a cane to walk.

after steroid injections and physical therapy, it was decided that a total hip replacement is appropriate.

All the best with that Great Teacher. Some initial pain and anxiety but after the operation you will reap a better and more productive life. Having a blood transfusion definitely not a good idea though! I recall my father back about 30 years ago had an internal bleed and was told he needed a transfusion. The doctors said he was likely to die without one.
He refused and the doctors went ahead and respected his wishes. The doctors and nurses were amazed how well he recovered and he lived on to be 86. Anyway stay positive and confident as your surgeon no doubt has years of experience and highly skilled in his profession. Let us know how you go mate!

MissDaSilva, with your 12 years of involvement in the pharma industry you must know a lot about what was in these Covid vaccines. Is it fair to say that many vaccines contain formaldehyde, mercury, anti freeze, phenol and aluminium to name a few ingredients.
If this is correct how can such dangerous substances even be allowed to be injected
into the bodies of poorly informed individuals?

I pioneered, I just liked sharing with people the promise of a new world that would be free from sickness, suffering, war and corruption. My parents both thought they would enter into the new world without dying, but that did not work out. Both have died in last 5 years. The long delay in it’s coming is creating a lot of hurt and suffering for many. But nevertheless a new world will come. The alternative is living without hope!

Everybody loved no ministry?
Thats a sweeping statement and couldn’t be true. I much prefer the ministry but gave up on writing letters.

If that CO resorted to yelling at people well imo he should be removed.
There are some who do not fully understand the struggles, hardships and anxieties that many brothers are having to endure in these the last days. But be assured that Jehovah the God of love and tender mercies certainly does understand. Such lack of empathy and kindness is totally contrary to how Jesus conducted himself!

Owen was drinking and just experimenting with “stuff”
When you get older Owen and develop some life experience and maturity you may well realise that such behaviour is damaging to your health and is detrimental in so many ways. There really are great positives in living by Bible standards. As many other religions also attest to.

now that the time has past i can give up the surprise that i sprung on the elders before my da'ing announcement.

i emailed the entire congregation!

or at least as many addresses that i had which was most of those who use email.

An update? It’s so painful to try and listen to this video as it’s over 2 hours.
And it is of very little substance and should be condensed down to say 10 minutes to highlight the main points of what is trying to be conveyed. The host does get hyped up as if he has something vitally important to convey but always comes up short and just becomes extremely boring and empty of anything that’s meaningful. So hard to see what the fuss is over these empty videos. But may appeal to some individuals.
