And to think that they use that story to attack gay people because we're supposed to be immoral.

Once I can decrease my participation, I'd like to never be there. Don't know how to do it. Any suggestion?
If that works and you decrease your participation, maybe the same tactic can work taken a step further. My suggestion is that patience is your ally. Don't get desperate. That is if you feel like fading without a lot of noise is what you feel is necessary.

SOME go back to CHURCHianity!
And that, to ME, indicates they never HAD real faith in God- but it was in MEN....
the-Question, you are not really making a lot of sense. Seems like you are agitated or something. You have made a few posts, all of them with fragmented sentences expressing fragmented ideas.
May I suggest you to try to post one thing properly articulated? Two or three sentences that sound like yelling don't really articulate whatever you want to communicate.

A problem for believers
by Bugbear ina problem for believers!.
a majority of the world’s population acknowledge that they believe in a superior god or in their creator.
they also claim that they have got this special understanding and knowledge of his will and his law.

How stupid to believe that only you have the wisdom of God….!
I am in no way a believer, but I think that your ideas address only part of what religion and religious organizations are and do. What you describe is absolutely true, but is far from the complete picture.
It's neither complete nor fair for religion to be depicted only and exclusively for what they claim to be in relationship with the god they worship. Organized religion plays an important role in society. They do a lot more than simply try to make their people believe what they preach. Furthermore, there are plenty of churches and religious denominations that never force their own believes in people and where it's perfectly fine to not understand or believe in everything.
Also, there is a major difference between religious believes and religious abuse of people or abuse of religion itself. Most-to-all of those people who you see fervently claiming that their way or their god is the one and only are in fact abusing religion and abusing others in the name of religion. That is not what all religions do.
Then there are charities, foundations, social work, schools, religious clubs, retreats, and many other things in which religious organizations are involved that help and plays a major role in communities. Cults, abusive churches and groups that are there for the sole purpose of enriching themselves and exercise power over others are the organizations that may fit more what you describe. Most of those harmful groups do nothing for the community where their people live. Those are the ones pushing their people to believe that there's no other way than theirs. Many, many other religious organizations are nothing like that.

I have to agree with James Mixon. It's interesting reading but a little convoluted. Somewhat contrived.

What's preventing YOU from stopping meeting attendance?
by nicolaou inwe all 'exit' in our own way and at our own pace but i'm curious, why carry on stuffing yourself into that stiff suit and tie or meeting dress years after you realised the truth about 'the truth'?.
they kept you a prisoner, what's stopping you from leaving now that you have the key to your own cell?.
loved ones?

Loved ones? if you really love them lead by example surely. Why prop up the old regime by placing your bum on the Kingdom Hall seat?
I'm long gone, but my fade took me about three years, most of which I was still a fully active JW. What kept me going was that I needed to accomplish a few things:
- Build a support system (didn't know it as such back then) outside the congregation
- Not get disfellowshipped as it was important for me to leave in my terms
- Change jobs. I was working for a non-JW brother of a JW guy from my congregation. Back when I tried to be a good JW I also recommended two other JWs from my congregation to work there, so the place was infested with JW influence. Needed to leave the job too
- My boyfriend at the time's curiosity and education. At the time when we met his mother was taking bible studies to become a JW, so he wanted to learn some things by himself
- Fun. I was having fun with misleading people in the congregation to believe that I had interest in doing things, then not, then again, then I'd start some kind of rumor, then I'd talk to an elder asking for guidance, just to do the opposite of what he recommended (please understand that I was immature and angry at the congregation).
- Build confidence in my decision. At the end of the day, I was about to walk away from the first 23 years of my life. Life as I knew it was going to end, and that's no small thing.
When I was in the process of fading, "prisoner" was not how I looked at or felt about myself. I was planning my "escape". That gave me drive, hope and happiness. I was very happy during that time of my life.

The Triune Polytheism; the 'Trinity'
by the-Question inthe most ridiculous of all dogmas anywhere in the universe is the very foundation of churchianity.....thus, all their other claims are just blah, blah!.

the-Question, I'm not sure you are making a lot of sense. All of their claims are ridiculous because you find one of them to be the most ridiculous? My believes are pretty much aligned with what nicolaou posted, and I'm in any way shape or form defending Christianity, but your statement doesn't seem to be well articulated.

The Results Are In: On average, for the past 90 years, 1/3 of the world has been banned
by ILoveTTATT2 inso using some amazing features of excel and the starting data here, i managed to get the average, the maximum, and the minimum percentage of the inhabited landmass of the earth where jehovah's witnesses have been either active (reported) or "not banned".the average is 66.10%!!
that means that for 90 years, ever since there is data, 1/3 of the world's area has not been preached in or been fully able to preach in!the minimum occurred in 1943, when only 26.77% of the world's inhabited area made a full yearly report and/or wasn't banned.the maximum occurred in 1991 because the yearbook said that the ussr was included.
the maximum was 82.47%.

I don't need to attack that quack as he claims people do because of what he interprets. To me he looks just like another person trying to find something to believe in after leaving the WT.
