by minimus indoes the rank and file or the elders view us as disassociated or disfellowshipped or simply "weak" or possibly a "prodigal son" type?.

Need help finding a quote!
by EdenOne ini need your help please.. i remember when the book "keep yourself in god's love" was published, there were instructions (published in a km ?
) to the publishers that the book should be the second book to study with bible students, that a publisher needed not wait to finish the book to be baptized, and that the appendix was of optional study.
can you help me find such quotes in english please?

The name was "The Truth that Leads to Eternal Life", not "Knowledge That Leads To Eternal Life". I don't know if it should have been standard all over the world, but where I grew up there was a book that they used after that one. It was "True Peace and Security: How Can You Find It?" or something like that.

Interesting explanation of a reason why some people stick with in the JW, regardless of facts - stress
by nonjwspouse inthis youtube is entirely interesting ( to me anyway) about the affects of stress on the body, and what causes that sress.
the jws who feel "at the top" in the jw, actually have reduced their stress d a degree.
when they feel empowered by "privileges" it brings a positive effect on stress levels, especially when in the outside of the jw world they have low level jobs with demanding supervisors, etc.

That's one reason. Interesting.

A scientist did better than all religious founders and teachers
by venus inthinking people have always sought a right reason for people to feel self-motivated to love each other (which is the goal of all religions).
in the process each religious leader presented some reasons which were not adequate because division appeared once the founder left the stage.. however, carl sagan (astronomer, astrophysicist, and science-fiction novelist ….etc) got it right when he wrote: “for small creatures, such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love” (contact, chapter 24 p. 430).
when an interviewer said this was the best of his quotes and asked him to put it in simple words, sagan said: “we exist in vastness of the universe, hence should have vast (great) mind of treating every one as residing/subsisting on the same (planet) home who breathe the same air (in contrast to going into smallness of contraction with each one seeking own interest).

...people have always sought a right reason for people to feel self-motivated to love each other...
That's the problem right there if you ask me. That seems based on the premise that people aren't capable or naturally interested in being kind to each other, which is not necessarily accurate.
In any event, science can explain many things way better than religion, but I'm not sure that something like love can be scientifically explained, or how can it promote loving each other, other than by choice. Although many religions preach "love", but not to gay people, not to fornicators, not to rape victims, and for as long as they say it's the right thing to do, otherwise people deserve to die.
There's no science or religion that can make that right in any way shape or form.

Another family needlessly torn apart
by Visitor1984 ini'm feeling very angry tonight as i watched my mother in law end her relationship with my husband, her son, tonight.
we were happily inactive, enjoying a distant but decent relationship with my in laws until they saw some christmas decorations and everything changed.
i spent two hours getting drilled on whether my husband and i celebrate holidays, to be told that my laws won't socialize with us anymore.

I'm posting this to vent my anger and for any lurkers. I lurked for a long time too. This religion does not reflect normal loving family behavior. If it doesn't feel right, follow your gut, it probably isn't.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm sorry to hear about your mother in law. You have every reason to be angry, and never forget that you guys are the ones with the right set of morals. I hope things change for the better in the future.
You are venting your anger and not asking for advice or suggestions, so I'll just offer you a hug.

A Religion of Faithful Parrots
by Hapthor1986 init's funny as i reflect back on my days as a witness during the watchtower study.
it seems like no matter what the question asked.
it was like parrots squawking back exactly what they had just heard with absolutely no thought or even the slightest expression of free will.

Interesting that they call it "questions and answers" and they are, only that both the questions and their answers come from the same source.

As much as I like the God farts explanation, the crop circles were a stunt from some artist looking for notoriety, so I'll have to go with Village Idiot, people.

"Overlapping Generation" is a "Spiritual Generation" - a letter to the governing body
by jwleaks in11 march 2017. dear governing body of jehovah's witnesses,.
could you please introduce the phrase "spiritual generation" to replace the phrase "overlapping generation".
it would save us all a lot of confusion.. an online search of your publications dating back to 2000 showed that this term has never been used.. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/s/r1/lp-e?q="spiritual+generation"&p=par.

It would save us all a lot of confusion.
That seems based on the assumption that (a) they give a rat's behind about their people and (b) they want people not to be confused.
Good luck.
