Yes, there are democrats who are dishonest, BUT, the republican party is known for it. It has become their culture, the fabric of their party. It's just who they have become. Finding dishonest people in a party is one thing, dishonesty becoming the fabric of the party, like with the republican party, is a completely different thing.

Why are Republican's so consistantly dishonest?
by Coded Logic init hasn't gone unnoticed that the republicans who are saying, "we need to get to the bottom of the obama wiretapping" and "let's investigate this" - are the same people, when it comes to trump's russian ties, who are saying, "we shouldn't look at this at all - it's just a bunch of lies and hype.".
no evidence whatsoever for claims about obama need a congressional investigation.
but mountains of evidence about trump with more coming out everyday can be swept under the rug.

Are you having to travel for medical help?
by compound complex inin this morning's paper, i read that many local health pros -- about 150 -- are losing their jobs.
the huge medical establishments (sponsoring hospitals) expected to turn a profit but are, instead, losing money.
within a couple months, our labs, doctors' offices, etc., will close.

How about out your way?
The complete opposite. I work in academic medicine now, and the health system I work for keeps growing, acquiring private practices and other clinics, and opening a brand new hospital that will have robots to handle many task such as carrying medicine and sheets for rooms. I guess my health system has a good business plan (and billionaire donors).

Observations From an Ex-Elder Part 3 - Searching for the Lost Sheep
by doubtfull1799 in"what man among you with 100 sheep, on losing one of them, will not leave the 99 behind in the wilderness and go after the lost one until he finds it?
" - luke 15:4. disclaimer: by posting the following observations i am not complaining.
i am happy to be left alone.

Their lack of effort in this regard is appalling to me and I believe it shows their true colours. That they are more concerned with, and too busy with, the 99 other sheep who remain in the fold to worry about "difficult" lost sheep like me! When I was still an elder, one of my friends in another congregation had a son that was leaving the truth, turning to evolution etc and on their request I was happy to meet with him every week for hours to discuss and debate with him evolution/creation and many other topics. I did not view him as "lost" or the "enemy" - I loved him, and I was happy to listen to and respect his point of view even though I argued opposite views. Would be nice to have the same consideration given to me and to be treated with the same dignity by all my ex-colleagues, not just one....
doubtfull1799 and no-zombie, as I read your stories, something occurred to me. If you see at the history of this forum, and if you look at the amount of posts about the following things:
- Not a lot of house to house preaching
- Current preachers are slackers, with little interest in making a real effort in engaging people in their conversations
- Changes in doctrine that are too obvious to ignore
- People leaving for all kinds of reasons
- Women, LGBT people, single parents, people with a spouse who isn't a JW, and all those people who used to be unpopular in congregations seem fed up and taking a stand against the WT views on all of them
- "Elite", uber JWs not seen as role models anymore
- Large accessibility to material that exposes their inconsistencies, inaccuracies and immoral, unethical, and illegal practices
- Not relying on published printed material anymore, changing their model
- An increasing amount of ex-JWs
and the list goes on, I'm thinking now that considering that neither elders nor currently active JWs, not even the CO get paid for any of the work they do, maybe they are just burned out. Maybe they just need to establish priorities simply because they just don't have the capacity to tend to every single issue, especially since the JWs that are still in are slacking, and weak in their standing.
It's just a thought. Not defending nor making excuses for them (trust me, I have no interest in making them look good), but if you look at the entire picture, right now elders and COs are dealing with a lot, on top of keeping up with all the changes that are being imposed on them.
I wonder if it's just them not having the physical or mental capacity, and they are just letting go of those they don't think are/should be priority. They have to save face in a s--t load of things.

GETTING FIRED VS QUITTING
by TerryWalstrom ingetting fired vs quitting_________________________my specialties in life are great and many, but none more fabulous than the talent i've possessed for getting fired and/or quitting a job.how many jobs and careers i blazed through would spin your head!
suffice it to say, more than you've time or patience to hear.. there is something in my psychology and verbal arsenal too prone toward candid criticism!
i find myself blurting out what i really think before even i can stop myself.i worked for an art gallery owner once who had everything going for him except good sense.

And to think that in the backward thinking community I grew up in as a JW, using any technology would get me a meeting with the JC. Times have changed.
