Interesting concept, but I think there are better ways of using the time and money. Not sure what exactly they expect to accomplish. Plus it's not accurate to say that it's the first time that there's such type of gathering. Maybe it's the first in Warwick, but not the first time ex-JWs protest or get together.

American JWs - Marriage in Foreign Countries

as a non-jw, i now know of at least 3 american jws who have left the country, married some random person in a third world country and who have returned to the us alone.

there may be a 4th one soon.. it could be pure coincidence, but just thought i’d throw it out there to see if there’s some bizarre jw logic to this .

i’m no longer close enough to the group to hear any details so... could be purely coincidence.

Thoughts?

I can tell you of Muslims, Baptists, Catholics, Pentecostal, Santeros and Atheists people who also have left the country, married some random person in a third world country and who have returned to the US alone.

Being a JW is no different than being of any other religion, no matter how much they claim they aren't part of the world.

for example, satan is freely permitted to move in heaven and on earth even after many many sins he keeps on practicing.

israel as a nation was not rejected at the first instance of their disobedience.

i had a conversation with an old jw friend and he spent a good part of the evening preaching to me.

as i am “inactive”, i am forced to stay low, thus, i was not argumentative.

yet, at one moment, he said that angels protect jws in field service and other situations.

You cannot be self centered to a higher degree.

It's nonsense. That's the very definition of faulty logic. Nonsense like that is where some people find comfort or an explanation for bad things that happen.

My sister has a different view of shunning to my brother-in-law, but he doesn't know

my library has volunteers who run the local history department.

they put up an exhibition last month called women at war and they asked for photos of people in uniform who aided the war effort in wwll.

i offered a photo of my mother in her red cross nurse's uniform but then i couldn't find it so i had to write to my sister asking if she had it.. i addressed it to her and her husband explaining why i wanted it and just wrote as if this is family property and i needed it.

Sorry that you have to deal with that undeserved behavior from your sister. Seems like she's happy to have you out of her life. Sad.

so i was reading the book of daniel, starting with chapter 4 (nebuchadnezzar's famous tree chopping/banding dream where the 7 times is introduced) but i noticed that when you don't cherry pick verses and just read straight thru - it really seems like some children's book that was poorly written.

even though the borg says that this book as written by daniel, chapter 4 is clearly written by "king nebuchad·nezzar to all the peoples, nations, and language groups dwelling in all the earth" after the tree chopping business.

) of the rest of the chapters seem to be written in 3rd person (odd, if you are writing about your experiences).

Big fat YES. It was inspired by the people who wrote it at the moment for the purpose it was written at the moment. If you mean inspired by God, then big fat NO.

Why Jehovah witnesses don't say, "Bless you" ?

bless you, that was a big sneeze you let out sister.. sister- ah, what does "bless you" mean?.

oh, it's pagan.

because people bless the soul of the person so they don't escape from their physical bodies.. sister- right, it is difficult to change the little things, but we can please jehovah by staying away from those things.. .... this is a scenario that happened when i accidentally (naturally) said "bless you" to the jw sister.

Can anyone explain why the JWs don't say bless you, besides being "pagan"?

I never got to hear one consistent answer to that nonsense. In Spanish we reply "Salud", which literally means "health", and that was still "pagan", even though we are not even using the word "bless".

It's just WT nonsense. There's no other explanation to me. I wonder what is the story with whatever other people say in other languages.
