Final Episode of David's Story regarding sexual abuse and Jehovah's Witnesses was released today....
by dubstepped ini've just released the final podcast from david's story which is a bonus episode formed from a discussion that we had in the pre-interview.
i think that it contained some valuable information and insights through our discussion of not just the response (or lack thereof) to sexual abuse within the cult of jehovah's witnesses, but also about other related matters.. i hope that david's openness about his life has made an impact on others, and invite any that listen to leave him a word of encouragement at http://shunnedpodcast.com/episodes/ under either episode 6, 7, or 8, all relating to his story.
i was fortunate enough to be able to take part in the telling of his story and it has impacted me for sure.. you can find the "shunned" podcast on itunes (apple podcasts), google play, wherever you choose to get podcasts, or streaming right from my site on the page linked above.

Is the USA too big?
by Diogenesister infred deftone on another thread about the tragic events at m. stoneman douglas school:.
the us constitution wasn't written for 50 states either.
the country has gotten too big and i think the solution is fragmentation.

I'm not sure if my question will be seen so I thought I'd start a thread: what does everyone, particularly our US cousins, think about this statement?
The size of the country doesn't necessarily affect the spirit of what it was written for. Also, there is no need for fragmentation either. It is already fragmented into, well, 50 STATES.
Would it help, or hinder, issues like immigration, national security, safety and gun control ?
No. The issue with whatever problem, real or perceived, has nothing to do with the size of the country.
And if you had the choice which states would you like to be together and, or, live in if you got to make the decision?
No changes. The issues here are not laws, nor the size of the country, nor which state should be together with which state. Not to mention that segregation and dividing things (and USA has quite a history on that, yet they still don't learn the lesson) doesn't work.
Or would you keep it just as it is ( do you maybe have just one state you would jettison, and why ?!!!)
I don't see what the rationale behind separating or segregating states will do. Sometimes I wonder about New Jersey... but that's what every other New Yorker does. Joke, aside, no. Separating states is not a solution to anything. What would be next, deporting people to the other states when they don't agree? What makes people think that an entire state, every single person in it shares the exact same ideology? And most importantly, what does any of it has to do with a shooting in a school?
Also, is the second amendment, in your opinion, relevant in the modern world and would you keep it in your dream union?
It is, in my opinion. When it was implemented the forefathers might have something completely different in mind than what the NRA today has, but it should remain in the constitution. Besides, the issues we face today have nothing to do with laws or the constitution. You cannot legislate attitude.

Where some of the money is going - from AM III
by Listener inthere is a public talk given by tight pants tony on youtube titled "the real armageddon, why, when"his talk, as usual, doesn't make much sense.
he says armageddon is not a nuclear holocaust or an asteroid hitting the earth it's god's war against all the political nations of the earth.
he talks about a celestial phenomenon that will be phenomenal.

This part reminded me of my first time with my husband. The rest of whatever that idiot has to say is pure garbage.

Cheap Shots Fired
by Wake Me Up Before You Jo-Ho inwhen @brian j’s “bullet in the head” thread went live (https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/4747450574176256/session-8-bullet-head) those written shots echoed in my mind.
a week later while overhearing a bible study, the conductor was asked if god really has given us “free will”.
but if someone ever put a gun to my head and asked me to renounce my faith as a jehovah’s witness, i would die.”.

Interesting, yet this still fall under the category of what-if scenarios, which I find interesting that many ex-JWs love playing for some bizarre reason. I wonder why that is.
Interesting, nonetheless.

A World so different to the one I grew up in.
by fulltimestudent inin the early 1950's i changed my life.
i started to study the bible with a jw.
big mistake!

Unimaginable all those years ago.
Yes, that is what we call progress. Unfortunately, many people love to give those things a negative tone, especially religion.
I don't lament my JW past, nor do I celebrate it. It just is. Since I left I am in sync with the world and all it changes, the good ones and the bad ones.
I hope you can embrace the world. It's not pretty all the time, but it's the only one we have.

Jehovah's Witness Books in Guinness Book of World Records
by TerryWalstrom inhttp://ed5015.tripod.com/jwbookscirculation.htm.
new light.
predicting world events--yet--containing not even 1 successfully completed prophecy.how is any of it "food"?

It doesn't look like a reliable source of information, nor does it say anything about the Guinness Book of World Records. Also, the Guinness Book of World Records does not have a category for "Most Popular Book". They have a lot of categories that describe different people an ways of publishing and printing books (i.e., "Most published works by one" author and "Thickest book published").

Young People Ask questions that work - How to identify a cult
by CovertsadJW ini have been wanting to write a book for kids who grow up in the borg or near the borg.
it would be non offensive and factual.
i am putting the chapters together.

I want to fight the Borgs indoctrination to our young kids—-Thoughts ?
I think that can be a great idea. I think that the tricky part here is reaching out to them in a way that makes them pay attention. If they are young people, they are (a) minors, (b) therefore, have to do what they parents tell them, which means that (c) having them access that type of literature might not be easy.
As for the content, I think your list is good.
