How has your life improved since leaving the cult?
No need to save anyone from anything
Free to make my own life decisions
Went to collage
Voted, joined and contribute to things and institutions I believe in
Got rid of the sickest people I've ever had in my life, many of which were forced on me to like
Have true spirituality, based on what works for me
I'm free of the "responsibility" of saving people from anything. I can state what I believe, and state my opinion without the need from others to like or approve it
I know the difference between opinions and interpretations of things, and facts
I learned the difference between feelings and truth; feelings are not reality, nor are they facts
Formed a wonderful family
Have/had several careers
Left young enough to be able to have a little something for retirement
Minimized the negative influence of that organization
Have the best and most loyal friends
I've traveled the world to places I want to visit, not places I want to convert people and "spread the good news"
Have proven time and time again that I am a much better person and have better morals than many of the morally bankrupted, horrible JWs I met and grew up with
I have a great support system, people I can truly count on without any condition and based on mutual acceptance and respect
I can make any financial, career, family and medical decision on my own and based on sound, informed decisions, not for some reward in a next life that may or may not happen
Doing the things that I love and believe in, I have been able to be a role model, inspire others, provide true help and support to others, and get the reward of a heart felt thank you to me (because I deserve the credit, not some Jehovah)
Been able to maintain my life, my stances, my believes, and the path that I chose, regardless of whether things get bad or not. I'm no stranger to hardship and bad times, but I've overcome every obstacle leaving the Jehovah crap aside. I've never doubted my decision to leave no matter how bad things have gotten in my life.
The most important thing, however, is that I was able to receive the mental health support that I needed instead of relying on magic Jehovah or any of that nonsense.
Are you happy?
Overall yes.
Have you made some amazing friends or maybe met an amazing partner in the world?
Yes, absolutely. However, even if I didn't, the Jehovah crap is never going to contribute anything good in my life. Never had, never will. I rather die alone and homeless than going back the the Jehovah crap.
The world can be scary, but I don't need to escape from it to make it in it.

boyfriend ex jehovah witness please help
by whatisthis12 inso i posted yesterday.
my boyfriend and i have been living together for a year, and he went to the memorial tonight (sorry if that’s not what it’s called).
i told him i was upset he didn’t invite me but wasn’t going to tell him not to go because he hasn’t talked to his family for over a year.

Sorry that you'r going through rough times. If you are fighting all the time, maybe the JW thing isn't the issue. Would you consider talking to a professional in marriage counseling? Not everything bad that happens in a relationship has to do with the WT.
Having a talk with him about topics that aren't comfortable without it escalating into a fight is something that many couples struggle with, and that has nothing to do with him being a JW.

Gruesome details in last night's memorial talk
by purrpurr inlast night's memorial talk in my cong went into graphic gruesome details about the torture of jesus and how the stake killed people.
i mean medical level graphic description!
step by step details of each injury and how it killed!

I wondered how the kids and new ones in the audience were taking this? I found it quite disturbing, so I shudder to think what effect it had on the kids!?
The same way they do when they hear about fornication, bestiality, the destruction of the world as they know it, that they will be killed if they don't do something that they don't understand, and the graphic descriptions that they give like the one of a prostitute having sex with a dragon.
The WT doesn't give fuck about children. They can't care less.

It was kind of nice, but it was all a show to get me to come back and I just don't know how to feel about that.
Thank you for sharing. Good that you had a little normalcy with your family. Sad that it has to be under those circumstances.

Vast Apostate Army handout
by Bill3rd into whom it may concern : after seeing the expose' on ctv`s program w5 called "no witnesses", i would like to find some way to obtain a few copies of the handouts which were used by the "vast apostate army".
can anyone send me a contact email to the "vast apostate army" and to zeb leatherman or parker bryan or tricia franginha ( spelling ?
t. just today i watched the "recruitment video" for the "vast apostate army"; the sound quality on my laptop was not the greatest but i say kudos to all those mostly younger people and a couple middle aged guys for taking this stand.. for a few years i have been in fairly regular contact by email with rev.

Some contact with activist ex-JWs who would contact a family member in Vancouver B.C. who is still frighteningly naive about JWs.
Intervening in people's private lives without their permission, so they can join another religious organization? I don't think so.

I do find his vehicle and the box in the back a little creepy. I guess I've been watching Investigation Discovery too much.
"Abuse of creation", as if building that "Ark" isn't. Just a 3D visual of the same bible nonsense.
Thanks for the video.

Religion Project
by Darren Doody ini've recently taken a particular interest in the jehovah's witness belief, and as a result, have decided to do a project on this belief as part of my college study.
i am a student teacher in ireland, so, i am undertaking this project from an educational perspective; i want to see how jehovah's witnesses are catered for in religious education in schools, and if there are any ways one could improve it.
i would appreciate if anyone could give their opinion on this topic.

I want to see how Jehovah's witnesses are catered for in religious education in schools, and if there are any ways one could improve it. I would appreciate if anyone could give their opinion on this topic. I am focussing particularly on how they are represented in the Irish Education system, but replies from any region would be so greatly appreciated
Interesting topic. I'm going to have to ask my Irish friends about it. Also, are you focusing on a particular area of education? Any specific sector? Is it private or public education? At what level (early childhood, middle school, college, etc)?

Heart wrenching letter
by neat blue dog ini don't know why i read this stuff it makes me so upset 😅 but although it's sad and frustrating it also is encouraging in a way:.

I think the letters are good for people who might be considering doing the same. Also good for many PIMO people not to feel isolated.
That's the frustrating part, knowing that you can talk til you're blue in the face, but it will likely only be met by a pair of glazed eyes.
Just because we don't see some kind of Eureka moment, doesn't mean that it has no effect. It's a cult, people are brainwashed, are biased and influenced, and convinced that anything outside is an attack. But they are still human beings. They read, think and question (even if they themselves don't even notice).
