very stressfull and upsetting evening was had last night.

BUT THE WORST IS YET TO COME... she called the elders. Two elders visited her home and asked my 2yo girl about me. Apparently, a 2yo child told them that i have women over in my house all the time. How a 2yo can articulate such a claim is beyond me. The truth is, when im with my daughter NO ONE is allowed to visit me. Thats my time with my daughter. My ex doesnt believe this and is now only allowing me to see my girl 1 day every 2 weeks!!

Document, document, document. Record those phone calls, try to get things from the elders in writing, and get a lawyer. The JWs have to be put in their place. She is the one abusing the child by submitting her to elders interviews and by restricting her interaction with other children.

Even if you bring other women to your home, who effing cares? That's not her nor the elders business. Go to court and have court mandated visitation for your child. I think you should stop the nonsense now. It's not going to get any better. She and the JWs will do as much as they can get away with.

Showing Kindness To Strangers

here i was operating under the impression that showing kindness to strangers was something that one did unselfishly.

I feel pretty foolish after reading the drivel in today's WT. Here I was operating under the impression that showing kindness to strangers was something that one did unselfishly. Boy was I wrong! Here are just a few of the statements about how to show kindness to strangers that are going to be slurped up today.
"...warm welcome at the Kingdom Hall."
"Jehovah is equally concerned about people... who attend meetings..."
"...loving concern for fellow believers from other lands..."
"...neighbors, fellow workers, schoolmates make derogatory remarks about those of another background."
"We can show kindness...by warmly greeting them at the Kingdom Hall."
"To help others feel at home in the congregation...why not accept them just the way they are?"
"We rejoice that Jehovah in his...kindness...has allowed people from all backgrounds...to associate with us."
So there we have it. Kindness is shown by getting people in the door of the KH. No one else is kind but rather they always speak derogatorily of others. Is there any wonder that I am FedUp?

Here's something interesting to look at too, FedUpJW. Do you notice that the WT actually have to tell people to be welcoming and loving, even when it is to their own KH? If that doesn't give you a clue of how that organization tries to influence people to the point that they cannot even know to be welcoming, I don't know what does.

That organization takes away so much from people. It's insane.

Is there a general rule or does each KH make it's own policy?

I'd say that "policy" is not the best word to use to characterize what the JWs do with people. Please understand that the WT is a high demand, controlling group, and as such, in many things they don't have written policies, nor do they say anything specific. As is, they change many things that they say and people still continue believing in their nonsense.

They use a lot of rumor and hearsay. They don't take a specific stance on certain things, but they do appeal to hinder people's own instincts and discretion. They instill fear in anything that doesn't come from them as a way to control anything that can influence their loyalty to them. Hence, you may hear different things from different people, although all those things converge in one common feeling, which is fear of anything outside that organization.

I know this Ecuadorian lady who kills chickens and goats to let the bad spirits go from the house. You want her number?

Also, this is what I was told to do by some guy I dated who believed in cleansing houses from bad spirits: Buy a porcelain plate. It has to be brand new, and porcelain. Also buy a yellow rose. Get a penny and a yellow candle. Go to your tub and fill it with water, spread the rose petals iin it. Go in, naked, and use the plate to throw water at you as you repeat "Bad spirits, in the name of Babalu Bayango, leave!". Repeat at least 25 times. Once finished, light the candle and pass the flame on the plate. The smear of smoke that remains on the plate will show the shape of the bad spirit. Put the plate in a bag, get dressed and take the plate in the bag and throw it in a place where you know you will never ever return. That will take the spirit away.

Or, don't believe any of this crap I just typed and get an exterminator.

she does not know i used to be a witness.

she was telling me how the labour is all donated and they only pay for the materials.

My guess is what she means is that she's very confident that the "Society" is never going to evict them. That is true... until some "new light" comes up that tells them to get packing.

Remember, many JWs blindly trust every single thing that the WT says and does. She's not going to believe that the WT has an entire real estate empire, making gazzilions of money from all the KHs that were turned over to them.

Have any ex-jws considered joining the Bible Students?

their fundamental beliefs are much like jehovah's witnesses sans the paranoia, authoritarianism, stifling rules, and end-times enthusiasm.

you don't even have to become a bible student to be saved, you could be an idol worshipping heathen and still get resurrected in the milenium.

if i still believed in the divine inspiration of the scriptures, i would be a bible student.

Saved from what? Sounds to me like the same bible nonsense. To many of us ex-JWs, our leaving has nothing to do with doctrine. Some of us are not looking for anything bible related, nor religion related, not even spirituality related.

Some of us just don't believe in the bible. And why on Earth anyone who wants to worship GOD, still wants to follow the writings of Charles T. Russell, a MAN?

my wife and i went to see it today at the encouragement of some of our new friends.

we laughed until we cried, and it was so cathartic to sit in a room full of hundreds of people laughing at the ridiculousness of religion.

sure, the subject is mormonism, but it was very poignant and applicable to all religion.

has anybody else noticed that almost all the jdubs are super arrogant?

i mean even from just the basic ones to especially the elders and the overseers omg.

they act like they are so high and mighty that you should just worship them.

Has anybody else noticed that almost all the Jdubs are super arrogant? I mean even from just the basic ones to especially the elders and the overseers omg. They act like they are so high and mighty that you should just worship them. And if you dare to challenge them or have any disagreement you are immediately 'labeled' and shunned whether or not you are a JW or not. This then, I found, leads to being isolated in the congregation real quick. Not only that, but if you want to converse with someone at a KH about 'moving up' they are very quick to dodge and show you your errors and why it just can't be done... either that or they just plainly ignore you for several minutes and talk about some bull with someone else hoping you go away (lol).
I just felt like ranting for a bit and was just wondering if anybody had some input to add here or any past experiebces.

Definitely. They have been made believe that that are the ones who have the one an only truth, that they are going to live forever and no one else will, and that their interpretation of facts is the one and only right one.

They live like ostriches, with their heads buried in the ground, not realizing that their asses are all up on the air.
