I wonder what if anything will tat make people want to join. Or maybe they just purposely want the old timers to suffer or die of bitterness.

More evidence beards are being eased in . . .
by neat blue dog inthe june 2017 watchtower tells the experience of a bible student who was homeless and unkempt, but improved his appearance after being preached to.. peter began to change.
he bathed, neatlytrimmed his beard, and put on the betterclothes that don offered him.
peter continued to maintain a clean appearance.. so here we see that with a neatly trimmed beard the watchtower's writers view him as having "a clean appearance".

Three congregations dissolved and a kingdom hall sold within a 50 mile radius in my area...
by UNCONDITIONAL LOVE inhas anyone else heard of these situations with congregations and halls in your area?
i thought the ground breaking mandatory pledge a little while ago was to keep up with "immense" growth?
how soon they forget... looks really bleak for the future of the wbats, the jw gravy train seems to be coming to a slow and agonizing yet inevitable stop.

Not sure if you have been a member of this forum for some time, but there have been many threads about their real estate business. They are in the business of real estate and are making money of it. Their pledge is as good as a three dollar bill.

Do JWs Regard You As An APOSTATE?
by minimus ini doubt people consider me an apostate but you never know.🤓.

I don't think that the JWs who knew me as a JW have the depth of thought enough to consider me an apostate. Gay is enough for them. That's all they see.

Becoming the average JW (and what I found out about the average 'Joe Witness')
by Skepsis inuntil a couple of months ago i was an uber-spiritual pioneer, only having association with other pioneers, elders and others who would fill in the category i classified as "spiritually acceptable" friends.. but since stopping pioneering and having more time to think about my doubts and what i really believe (or better said, what i no longer believe), i have started getting to know other less spiritual brothers and sisters of the area.
in fact, my old friends are starting to forget me quite quickly, i must say.
so, i guess my next move in fading is becoming what i call the average witness.. and what did i discover?

Love you post. It stroke me as sort of divided, the way you describe what seems to be a clear separation between the "average" JWs and the "very JW JWs". Seems like the "elite" doesn't seem to care much for whatever the rest of the congregation does. It has come to that.
What you shared about the conversations you had with the other JWs seems to me like a good thing in the sense that you get to be more in touch with reality, but also in the fact that the "average JWs" seem to be way far away from looking up to those über JWs. Used to be, at least when I was there a few decades ago, that those people were supposed to be looking up and wanting to be like them.
Times have changed. Hopefully for the good.

Does the Watchtower Bible Society own stocks. Nad are those stock related to military business?
by CitizenofEarth inhello.. i am a young 18 year old danish guy, who is a baptized jw.
since one year ago i have been maturing gradually and asking questions about many things, not only about jw stuff(which has caused some problems.
but nothing i couldnt handle with a bit of social skill).

Hello, CitizenofEarth.
Recently i stumbled upon an article that discusses and proves that the WTS owns stock in companies that have ties to military business, and business in general(i found it on this website). I only read this article through a few minutes ago, and i am of course in a state of "denial"(or shock). Can you help me find the source of this article - or another one that shows the same. I would like to show this to my dad, who luckily can think for himself, in order to show him why i dont trust the WTS and just want to believe in god in peace, without being dependent on an organization susceptible to corruption.
I personally don't know about the stocks that the WT's owns, but I'd encourage you that now that you are in researching "mode", use this opportunity to search for anything and everything you may be curious about the WT. There are reasons why they only expect you to read their literature, their website and use only the education that comes from them. That is not a good thing, especially if they are supposed to be "the truth".
If I come across that information I'll forward it to you.

When you were an active WT door knocker... How did you knock?
by LoisLane looking for Superman inon the door frame, on the door, door knocker, bell.. loud, very loud, regular, soft... gentle... or just pretended and never knocked at all?
we just had a city worker come a knocking on our front door and my responce after she left was, she should go down to the local kingdom haul and give lessons.
her knock was so loud, she could raise the dead.

I grew up in a rural area, so most of the time I had to yell to houses far from the entrance fence. Our main threat were dogs and people yelling back all kinds of things, ranging from "GO AWAY, WE'RE BUSY!!!" to "GO AWAY, WE'RE FU**ING!!!". Most of the time people were nice and even offered us fruits, water, etc.

Interesting conversation with a JDub regarding kingdom songs.
by joe134cd inwas out side a jdubs house while they were playing kingdom songs.
this is how the conversation went.. me: did you realize that one of their kingdom songs was a copy from the jurassic park theme song.. jdub: where did you find this.
me: hey i've got the down load to the movie, and that theme song has a striking resemblance to that song you just played.

Conversation ends. There you have it folks the response from a real hard liner JDUB.
Sad. Any context or background on how you found yourself in that conversation? Just curious.

Some years ago, elder talked bad things about me in field service.....
by Iamallcool ini just thought about my old congregation where an elder met worldly married couple in field service some years ago.
the couple knew me for years but we do not know each other very well and they mentioned my name to him and he started to talk bad things about me!
wtf!

Just wondering if you know of any JW that talk bad about Ex-JW in field service?
Just like redpilltwice, too many to mention. I was the gossip punching bag of the congregation. Those idiots seemed to have the theory that their ill intended gossip and s**t talking was somehow going to make me change my behavior and attitude.
As I have mentioned many times, gossip and backstabbing are the backbone of the manipulation and control of the WT and many other cults. Ill-intended gossip ir around all the time in every congregation.

Was There ANYTHING Positive That You Experienced Because of Being a JW?
by minimus inwas there anything positive about your jehovah's witness experience?.

Public speaking I think is the one thing that I have to give the WT credit for. Also, as a JW I was very good at preaching house to house. I would talk to anyone and would not take no for an answer. I would talk to people some other JWs shied away from.
My process of surviving such horrible experience of so many people trying to make me fit a mold I am not made for gave me strength, resiliency, and confidence in who/how I am.
The fact that the WT is so full of phonies claiming that their magic Jehovah does wonders, seeing the hypocrisy of so many JWs, including many in positions of authority, and growing up with double-faced abusive JW parents, has given me a great way of not buying into people's bs. I think that's the biggest gift, seeing through so much hypocrisy and nonsense and people pretending to be happy. God, did I hate those stupid glazed happy faces!
