Elders ,CO ,DO ,branch overseers ,GB ,missionaries has "sinful" lust got the better of them.
I'm afraid that most of the worst in that respect doesn't come to light because it involves lawyers and gag orders.

a follow-up to my letter to my brother which i posted earlier: .
my brother, ronnie, had texted my sister, linda, and me regarding our late mother's estate.
linda engaged ronnie in a text conversation about our mother’s ashes because he has ignored her texts for several years.
I respectfully disagree, steve2. Actually, not completely. I acknowledge what you state, but to me, I think Roger Kirkpatrick's feelings are more important than what you pointed in your reply. The privacy of names, I think, should be left up to the poster. Some may disagree with that, but I also want to point that we are all responsible for what we post and how we post.
The conversation doesn't seem too intimate to me.
Roger Kirkpatrick, I wonder if there was a response to your text. It's difficult to deal with family, but I am glad that you had the opportunity of letting your sibling know where you are standing.
i was wondering if you guys think if the general public cares about our stories or if they even care what the watchtower does to people??
?.

My stance is this: we are living in a world where a person like Kim Kardashian is considered relevant. If you look at what people pay attention to, and what makes people interested, no. I believe that the general public has grown to have a very short and shallow attention span, and can't care less about anything that doesn't give them immediate gratification, even if it's to its own detriment.
That said, this reminds me of a comment that a person made in a YouTube video from an ex-JW. She was stating something along the lines of ex-JWs are always talking about that organization and seem to never let it go.
Many people have very little knowledge of the negative effects that cults and oppressive groups have in people. Even many ex-JWs are not aware of how badly influenced they have been until they start "deprogramming" and learning to think for themselves and accept the time and energy lost due to the WT.
If they know nothing about the WT, know nothing about cults, brainwashing and their negative effects, and if none of that affects them directly, no, the general public will not care. At best, some people may have a degree of curiosity, but I believe that is short lived.
i wanted to take a moment to give a quick baby update.
my last post mentioned that we lost twin b at 17 weeks but twin a is doing well so far.
we are 25 weeks tomorrow and a week past the point of viability so we are starting to get really exited for this new adventure in our lives.
I am very sorry for your loss, and very happy to hear that your decisions around the baby shower are sound and loving. Great lesson for those JWs who think they are entitled to include and exclude people as they please.
My heart goes to you and your family.
Happy to hear about your baby a.

I never did, but not because I couldn't. I never told anything about anyone to the elders. I had quite some dirt in quite a few elders. I saw one drinking at a hotel bar with some woman that looked like a "working woman", another carrying a birthday cake for one of his students (he was a teacher), one that dressed like Santa at a corner downtown my town. I saw a couple of them at the porn theater, and I had sex with one when he was an elder. Had sex with another who later became an elder.
I never bothered saying anything to anyone. The reason was more along the lines that I can't really care less about the JW structure and how they do things. Plus to be honest, I think that there's some humanity in me. My encounter with the elders, as much as I was able to handle them, were not pleasant.
I guess I was just happy of reaffirming my point that they are all full of --it, and that elders are not to be trusted.
i am thinking about buying coffee mug(s).
maybe i will get my coffee mug personalized.
any suggestions on what should be on my coffee mug?
I would have this printed in the mug:

hello people,.
i was born in but long time faded.
i think i hold current jws to a higher standard than they now maintain.. here's the thing; my father is very old, in his nineties and been a jdub for over 60 years and even made it to elder till he got too old.on a recent visit my siblings and dad were saying how wonderful that veterans affairs were.
Should a JW accept Veteran payments?
Yes, no question about it, there are many JWs that I knew/know who receive veteran benefits.
since leaving watchtower i kind of hit the "reset" button in my mind and reevaluated what i thought i knew, what i believe and i require proof for every idea put before me before i commit to it.
lately i've been fascinated with evolution.
as a jw i never even looked at the subject, dismissing it as "just a theory".
One more reason i could never go back to the JWs.
And the beauty of it all is that if you decide not to believe in it anyway, no one is going to shun you.

Sounds like petty vindictiveness. Not funny to me.
i've recently openly joined this community and already have a huge favor to ask: if you are in the nyc area, would you be willing to be my marriage witness this wednesday morning?
all of my family and friends are either active dubs or abroad, while my "worldly" fiancée is a fl transplant and still new to the city.
we're happy to provide modest compensation.
I am in NYC but unfortunately have a lot of professional responsibilities and can't just go. I'm sure that if you can find the right person in the line behind you anywhere, that will be in NYC.
