No one from my old hall has contacted me to find out what happened.
That's how you know you made the right decision.
i was in my old stomping ground a couple of months ago and happened to be walking past the home of an old family friend.
word is in the hall that i used to go to is that "i am one of them" meaning apostate.
no one from my old hall has contacted me to find out what happened.

i often wondered how far back the witnesses had been involved with my family.
my grandmother died at the end of 2013 and while going through her photos we found some of my great-grandmother, dora, who was born in 1901 and died in 1994. there is a photo of dora dated 1946 standing outside her house in east riding, yorkshire.
on the back of the photo her husband had written "in a human moment before jehovah grabbed her".. my great grandfather, who died before i was born, did not like the witnesses.
Those are lovely photos. To find out the right time when the family started involved with the WT, you might need some accurate family history.
What your great grandfather wrote in the photo may have been written at any time. It may not difficult to verify with the right documentation and tools.
would he be disfelowshipped for talking to df persons?.
question of the day if Jesus on earth today and assuming he was a jw, would he be disfelowshipped for talking to Df persons?
Yes, that is if somehow he becomes a JW or cares to be one.
i've been bi for a long time but i know it's wrong if you want to be a jw... .

It's hard being any kind of anything other than what they expect and tell you to be. That goes with sexuality, health care decisions, marriage, social events, career, possessions, the list is endless. Sexuality is one of the many ways in which they want to control their people.
I understand not having a healthy way of expressing your sexuality being a severe stressor, but I wonder if that's the only thing from that organization that bothers you.
thumbs-up gesture doesn’t covey much if we see only four fingers closed and thumb standing upward.
but if we look for the implied meaning, then it is a positive, informal signal indicating a job well done, and saying ‘keep it up.’.
similarly, biblical accounts don’t convey much if we see them as mere accounts.

Too much work. I rather use Google.
last year i didn't bother with christmas as it still felt like a "nothing" day to me (thanks watchtower!).
this is the 2nd christmas since waking up and leaving the cult and i've finally bought my first christmas tree:).
i have no idea what to do with it though.
I have no idea what to do with it though. How to decorate it. When to put it up. Where to put it?

problem solved.

You are trying to place some sense in an organization that claims that is not part of the world. Looks great on paper, but never gonna happen. That's not what they are after. They have no interest in doing anything other than what they are set to do.
go to jw.org and watch some of the caleb and sophia videos in solomon islands pidgin language.
hilarious!.
Not funny to me.
Beautiful. Lovely vivid colors.
when i was a jw i was fascinated with the mormon religion.
i never believed a word of it of course, but i was interested in their religion like most boys were interested in star wars.
i’ve read the book of mormon, doctrine & covenants, pearl of great price, book of abraham, watched their videos, read critical books by ex mormons etc etc… (strange at the time that i never did this with my own religion!
Blacks in the church maybe? God living on a star called Kolob?
How about trying to get what's in it for them? Discussing their teachings and history I'm sure are things that they are very, very well prepared to debate, refute and ready to hear. Those things have been points of discussion in that religion for decades now.
Try asking them what is that makes them happy to be Mormons. Their testimonial may give you a clue as to the real reasons why they join. If they were raised in that religion, simply show them the size of the real world compared to what they have experienced, as a point to show them that they cannot say that the one and only thing they know is the one and only truth.
