hello friends.
recently i had been reflecting back on my past life as a witness, and happened to find myself googling jehovah witnesses and ended up on this website.
i was once an active lurker and occasional poster on this site about 7 years ago when i was exiting the organization and had always enjoyed reading others experiences and topics.
Welcome. I'm glad that your departure from the JWs has been a positive one for you. Many ex-JWs don't realize that part of the brainwashing isn't only what they are made believe about their practices and doctrine, but they are also brainwashed to believe that their lives are no supposed to matter if they leave.
I'm glad that you didn't drink that koolaid.
i am new to this site, want to know who in the admin and are we all jw?.
if yes, i am from nigeria, west african.
as an active and dedicated witness i want to tread safe.. need to make some friends here; i love honesty in all things.. best regards.
Are We all Witnesses Here?
Welcome. Please take a look around the forum. There are a lot of very honest, nice loving people here. Not a lot of active witnesses, though.
Enjoy the forum. Take what you like and leave the rest.
ct russell said the dead would be resurrected to heaven from 1874-1881.. then the judge decided that it was not 1874/5 for the return of christ but 1914, so moving the heavenly resurrection forward to be from 1914-1918.. in truth nobody knows when it happens or happened.
just because the watchtower leadership says something in the printed word doesn't mean that it is true.
zion's watchtower 1881, january.
CT Russell said the dead would be resurrected to heaven from 1874-1881
Last time I checked I'm not in heaven, so I can't tell one way or another.
the wtbts has finally decided to join the rest of us in the 21st century and has begun rebranding.
they've dropped the iconic watchtower sign from their heaquarters, and it's only a matter of time till they drop the now embarrassing watchtower name completely; a name synonymous with failure on the one hand and concentration camps on the other.. the organisation will soon be known solely as jw.org, bringing them right up-to-date with the web 2.0 revolution of 15 years ago, and making them the only company still to use a full web address as their main identifier, very forward-thinking of them.. it's inevitable that they'll gradually rebrand everything.
what methods do you think they'll go with?
Thanks for sharing that information, Fred Franztone. Personally I don't have any interest or reaction to whatever they decide to do (other than maybe shutting down completely). I do know that it does help and interest others.
after being around for a few years reading, then posting - i've realized the usefulness of trolls.
for 1. they expose what type of person they are.. 2. trolls are very good once you roast them.
many are not able to march up to the wt and give them a piece of our mind.
That is just some of the things I think when I see a Troll. How about you?
You forgot a very important piece: what is a troll? What you think is trolling behavior might be very useful to other people. Some people label things they don't like hearing about "trolling", when the reality is that they just don't like (or are not ready to) listening to what the so-called "troll" is communicating.
anyone on here an ex accounts servant?
i’d be interested in a projection of what percentage of contributions come from elderly jw’s.
i.e, money that will be diminishing over next 5 or 10 years as these ones pass on.. i estimate that in one of my previous congs 50% of the contribution totals of approximately £400 each month were being made by the over 70’s demographic.. within the other 50% were pioneers and low paid workers who put in regular but small amounts.. i guess when the accountants ring the alarm bells you start cutting the biggest costs; full time servants, buildings, printed literature.
Cong accounts analysis?
My analysis: still too many effing JWs.
...wondering what the reaction would be 😊 has anyone ever do be this on their way out??
If you are a JW, I'm quite sure you know well what their reaction will be. I didn't do any of the sort on my way out, but I did quite a few nasty disrespectful things.
I witnessed a couple of times people doing similar things.
I think that regardless of what the action is, their reaction is going to always be the same. They are brainwashed to believe any combination of the following (and/or act accordingly):
The end result, I can guarantee you, is not going to be you leaving a mark or becoming memorable. If at all, you will be ridiculed or cited as a bad example, or as an example of how their "Jehovah" maintains his people united in spite of your "attack".
a year ago i had a rough time and posted this .
it was a controversial topic, some people got offended by my overly boastful tone, others offered help.
i appreciate any kind of opinion and i try to correct the flaws in my personality.
Girls are unpredictable, materialist, and use us, men, as a toy
I know, that's why I'm gay.
a 'concerned' jw in my congregation rang me earlier and said she's noticed my daughter sits miserable at the meetings and said she's a right miserable girl in general.
i said she's happy and hyper when she's not at the meetings they're just really boring and she doesn't want to be there.
apparently i'm a bad parent coz she feels that way.
Did anyone else have any annoying people trying to correct them all the time and point out everything they're doing wrong instead of concentrating on themselves
Yes, it's called a congregation. What gets to me is how entitled to get into your business without your permission they act.
