All the scriptures point to the preaching work taking place at the synagogue, the market, hillsides, etc., nowhere does the scriptures state that a systematic, “door to door” work was taking place.

So based upon that statement, the disciples of Christ WERE engaged in "disciple-making", then.

Of course, not "door-to-door" preaching. But "disciple-making".

I agree wholeheartedly that JW "door-to-door" preaching is UNSCRIPTURAL.

But if you check back, I never once said anything about "door-to-door" preaching. We were talking about "disciple-making". One work is Biblical and one work is not. Go back and check what I said.

However, as you've said above, the disciples of Christ were engaged in various forms of "disciple-making". And if they were going to stay in a particular area for any length of time, they needed "logding" to support and sustain that particular christian "activity".

So its not about foolish "JW mantra", (as I would be the first to condemn it) but about what the Bible actually teaches, period.

I'm quite familiar with the above information, since I've read both books by RV Franz and have both books in my possession.

However, I notice that you quote Raymond Franz like he is God himself. He is spoken of in reverential tones by yourself.

But I must ask you, since when is RV Franz the final "authority" on all scriptural matters? Did RV Franz teach in his books, that we should quote his book, like one would quote the Bible itself? Did that come from RV Franz? (You did quote from his book, that way.)

Now, if you ask me, this is precisely the mind-set "You Know" has complained about since he has arrived on this discussion board (and before on H2O). The "teachings" of RV Franz espoused as the actual Word of God himself.

So you think by quoting RV Franz, you've made your point to me?

ThiChi, Ray Franz may have an opinion. So do others. So SHOULD YOU. So please understand, quoting him as an authority on scripture really means nothing to me. The Bible says we must all develop "thinking ability". And, I think Ray Franz would support such a viewpoint. (Proverbs 1:4)

I'll tell you what, rather than quote me what RV Franz says, why not simply state your own personal views. YOUR VIEWS. Quotes from RV Franz carries no special weight with me. He is a man. A man. That is all.

And that is all Ray Franz claimed to be, to my knowledge. A man with an opinion, but with no special claimed insights upon scripture nor its interpretation. This is what I read in his "writings".

Now, after having said that, I'll say this about what you personally have written. Based upon what you have said thus far, unfortunately, I have to respectfully differ on your personal opinion on this matter.

The disciples WERE involved in disciple-making. Disciple-making, while on a "preaching tour".

Now here is my opinion. If you carefully consider Luke 9:5, you will see these are precise "instructions" given by Jesus. (I have no problem with the thought that the disciples were shown HOW to obtain lodging. That is a given. They are on a "preaching tour". I got that point. This is what I understood Ray Franz to mean by the above comments.)

But they are "preaching". They are "preaching" the "kingdom of God." They are "declaring the good news" of that kingdom. That's the mission. (Luke 9:2, 6)

Let's look at the context. Luke 9th chapter. Let's consider Luke 9:2,

"And he sent them out to PREACH THE KINGDOM OF GOD and to heal the sick." NIV

So these are PREACHING INSTRUCTIONS. They are "preaching the kingdom of God", this is their message.

Now, lets consider Luke 9:6 says,

"So they set out and went from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere." NIV

So your point is: they are "obtaining lodging" to carry out a "preaching" assignment or tour. Understood.

So with that understood, then, are you saying a "preaching tour" is different from "disciple-making" activity? Is that what you object to?

Are you saying, they are not engaged in "disciple-making" but merely carrying out a "preaching tour", which is different in YOUR mind. Is that what you are saying?

When I started this thread, the whole purpose was to draw attention to the original thread which had to do with JWs "preaching" to people in "cities" which do not want them there. JWs taking "court action" to enforce the issue, in Stratton, Ohio. That the point I'm really after. The JW viewpoint of that particular "enforcement" which contrasts the instructions given by Jesus to "shake the dust off your feet" when others do not respond to your "preaching".

But when Jesus said, "when people do not take you in OR, LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS...", what did he mean by this?

The word "Or," is there. Either action is offensive. To NOT "take one in" (lodging) OR, or, or, to voluntarily refrain from "listening to your words". Either one, either action is OFFENSIVE. So, in either case, the disciples should "shake the dust off their feet as a WITNESS against them". (Matt. 10:14; Luke 9:5)

So the disciples are instructed to "shake the dust off their feet", if "lodging" IS NOT extended to them? In so doing, Christ cites the attitude of INHOSPITALITY as being offensive to him. The inhospitable attitude of fellow-Israelites, of like faith. Israelites, under the Mosiac Law, who have refused to extend HOSPITALITY in giving "lodging" to his disciples? A hospitality problem for people under the Mosiac Law.

So, Jesus said in this case, "shake the dust off your feet as a witness AGAINST them." Those inhospitable Jews.

But Jesus also spoke of another condition, which I think goes hand-in-hand with this inhospitable spirit. Jesus said, "when they do not listen to you". When they do not "receive you".

In saying this, Jesus is talking about the refusal to "receive" of a "witness" work, a preaching work that is carried out by the disciples of Christ? Thus, a refusal of a "witness" work, or a refusal of a "preaching" assignment, the "preaching of the kingdom of God," a "declaring of the good news" as mentioned at Luke 9:2 and Luke 9:6. Therefore, when one, an Israelite specifically, refuses the "message" of the "good news of the kingdom" that Jesus' disciples were preaching, this would constitute refusal of Christ himself. And a refusal of Christ, would mean a refusal of the One who sent Him, Jehovah God. (Luke 10:6)

So I propose a "compromise" between your viewpoint (which is actually Ray Franz's) and mine. Perhaps, Jesus meant to "shake the dust off the feet as a witness against them" for doing BOTH things mentioned above. (a) The denial of extension of "hospitality" (lodging) toward a fellow-Israelite, and (b) a clear refusal of "receiving" (did not listen to) the "good news of the kingdom" as presented by the disciples of Jesus.

I'd say the disciples of Christ were told to "shake the dust off their feet as a witness against" fellow-Israelites who were guilty of both infractions.

Of course ThiChi, I know you may need to "check in with Ray Franz", before you can forumulate your OWN OPINION on the matter. I understand, if you do.

Yes, obtaining lodging but "obtaining lodging" for what purpose?

What was the purpose of the visit, to the "city" or "village"? To just "obtain lodging"? Or, more.

Jesus said, if "they do not listen to you," then do thus and so.

They were carrying a special "message", in that in the event the listener did not respond, a "witness against them" was noted. (Luke 9:5)

I'm afraid the disciples of Jesus as recorded at Matt. 10:11-14, were doing more than merely "obtaining lodging". Much more.

Recently, Jesus' clear disciple-making instructions at Matt. 10:11-14 and Luke 9:5 have come up for discussion, in light of the manner in which JWs carry on their insistent and relentless "preaching" work in modern times. As it were, when all else fails, resorting to using "Caesar's" law (and man's court system) to literally FORCE "Cities" and townships to hear their message repeatedly, year in and year out, whether they want to or not. The Stratton, Ohio/Supreme Court hearing for example.

Some bible students feel, given what we have read above, this is 180 degrees OPPOSITE of the explicit counsel of Jesus given to his true disciples.

Seeing how these are the actual words of the Lord, and "his" plain instructions on how to carry on the christian preaching activity to a "city" that does not "receive" or respond well to the "christian" message, how do you explain WTS court action, past and recent?

In other words, what happened to the part of Jesus' instructions to humbly and quietly, "shake off the dust from your feet", as a "witness against" them so that the Lord himself could be the final judge?

Why aren't JWs and WTS complying with that part of Jesus' instructions?

This aggressive "legal" move (WTS Court Action) upon the parts of the WTS and JWs, actually could be intrepreted by sincere observers as underlying contempt for the Lord's original instructions, thus showing brazen disobedience. The present day mode of procedure (to use "Caesar's" law to attack "cities") to increase "preaching" privileges for JWs, seems to the sincere observers, completely contrary to the "spirit" and "content" of the explicit instructions left by the Lord Jesus. Especially the part, say, on the matter of preaching to unresponsive "cities" and obediently "shaking the dust off your feet" as a "witness against" such ones. So that the Lord can be the final judge of the matter.

Anything beyond this is retaliation on the "christian's" part.

True Christians were never advised to take unresponsive individuals to "court" and using the "world's" legal system to cram and jam the message "down their throats". Where is that taught in Holy Scripture? And how are you letting the Lord be the final judge, when you are attempting to force the issue? (See Luke 9:5.)

DANIEL, THE "REPENTANT" PROPHET

REPENTANCE -- You see, the righteous prophet Daniel was repentant. Daniel had a "repentant attitude" for both himself and the nation he represented. An attitude you know nothing about, "You Know", in all of your shameful disdainful "supercilliousness". (See Psalms 10:4.)

Innocent Daniel, was being "punished" by being exiled in Babylon, FOR THE SINS OF HIS LEADERS! But Daniel was himself, very innocent of these sins. But he was being "punished" nonetheless, for "their" [the leaders of the nation] sins.

This is what you do not understand about this whole UN/GB Scandal situation.

Actually, now that you've mentioned him, Daniel would be the perfect person I would pick to DISPROVE your argument, and show your lack of repentance before God.

Unlike you, the "repentant" and contrite prophet Daniel had enough "sense" to keep HIS BIG MOUTH SHUT, the whole while he was in Babylon under pagan rulership (Nebuchadnezzar). Daniel had enough sense to recognize shame, national "shame". Daniel had the spiritual insight to recognize a GREAT NATIONAL EMERGENCY when he saw one. He recognized Great "sin" on the nations part when he saw it. You evidently have not the vision, nor the mental facility to "see" the real issue at stake here.

Daniel did not have your problem. Daniel knew to be led off into "captivity" as punishment was a GREAT SHAME! Shame, Shame. Do you know the meaning of it, shame that is. National shame. This is something I wished you would learn, so that you will quit all of your meaningless "preaching" to others, when you are to God and Jesus, as spiritually filthy as they come. Here is why you are filthy. The entire spiritual nation of Jehovah's Witnesses is filthy, because of

COMMUNITY GUILT:

Leviticus 4:3, 13, 14:

"If the [High] priest, the anointed one sins so as to BRING GUILTINESS UPON THE PEOPLE..."

Is ignorance an excuse? What if the sin is "hidden"?

"Now if the entire assembly of Israel makes a mistake and the matter has been hidden from the eyes of the congregation in that they have done one of all the things that Jehovah commands should not be done and so have BECOME GUILTY and the sin that they have committed against it has become known, ..."

Guilt is incurred, no matter. Whether the nation knows or not. Its national guilt. The "guilt" cannot be removed so easily. Punishment is in store.

"You Know", what you don't realize is this fact:

If the Governing Body "sins", that means YOU HAVE SINNED, in God's eyes, by simply being one of Jehovah's Witnesses!

Its called "COMMUNITY GUILT".

Here is the scriptural rule that must be adhered to at all times:

"And as for the [false] prophet [WTS], in case he gets fooled and actually speaks a word, I myself, Jehovah, have fooled that prophet; and I will stretch out my hand against him and annihilate him from the midst of my people Israel. And they [the entire JW congregation] will have to bear their error. THE ERROR OF THE INQUIRER WILL PROVE TO BE JUST THE SAME AS THE ERROR OF THE [FALSE] PROPHET, in order that those of the house of Israel may no more go wandering off from following me and may no more go defiling themselves with all their transgressions..." (Ezekiel 14:9-11)

Stiff punishment. The "inquirer" gets the same punishment as the "false prophet," Jehovah has said.

So, you are going to get the same "Divine punishment" as the WTS, your leaders. Because you are a part of that nation.

COMMUNITY GUILT & REVELATION 18:4, AS APPLIED BY JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES WORLDWIDE

"COMMUNITY GUILT"

is what you told the people in your filthy door-to-door work, when you said the "churches were guilty, and the people in the churches were JUST AS GUILTY when they decide to stay and support the churches." Do you remember saying that?

Then, you quoted Rev. 18:4, which says conveniently:

"...Get out of her [Babylon], if you do not want to SHARE WITH HER IN HER SINS, and if you do not want to RECEIVE PART OF HER PLAGUES."

Jehovah's Witnesses called it "Community Guilt". JWs said, the Bible taught it. They said it applied to all parishners and supporters of the churches of Babylon the Great. JWs called it "Guilt By Association". Being an "Assessory To the Fact". And it applies to all supporters of the wicked churches. Remember, "You Know"?

Therefore, using this same Divine Principle, all Jehovah's Witnesses MUST then "share in the sins" of the Governing Body's, "share their guilt" over the UN/GB Scandal, according to Jesus and God, and Revelation 18:4. This is because you, "You Know" and your unfaithful "constituents" told the people in field service that they were going to be "completely destroyed", if they stayed with their filthy church organization. And this was because of "Community Guilt", did you not? Do you remember? No, it didn't matter what they personally believed or did, their good conduct, personally didn't matter to God. That didn't matter. You told them: They would get the SAME PENALTY AS THEIR LEADERS. Because they were part of the filthy organization, a supporter, even if it was only in name only. This is what you've taught, "You Know".

Did you not say this, "You Know", last week in field service?

I'm sure you have explained, Revelation 18:4 before, You Know, in field service.

So, now the "shoe is on the other foot."

"You Know", is now facing, what you have preached to others! Surprise! Surprise! "You Know" is facing something you didn't expect. "Community Guilt", as taught by Rev. 18:4. One of JWs favorite scriptures too.

Jesus understood "Community Guilt". That's why Jesus said, if the "blind leads the blind, THEY BOTH fall into the pit." (Matthew 15:14)

If the Pharisees go down, then the whole nation goes down, "in the pit". Community Guilt.

Funny how things work, You Know. You see, the same "pit" you have joyfully and gleefully dug for all others, for years and years in the door-to-door work, is now waiting for you! You and the WTS will "fall into your own pit." Neither one of you will escape, this irrevocable Divine penalty inherent in God's Law. (Proverbs 26:27; 28:10)

So now, its time for YOU, to fall back in the "pit" of COMMUNITY GUILT, just for being one of Jehovah's Witnesses! All thanks to Rev. 18:4 and your "big mouth" in the door-to-door work.

Now here is how Daniel looked at NATIONAL tragedy. The following shows Daniel understood something, "You Know," that clearly you do not. He understood "COMMUNITY GUILT" when he said,

"O Jehovah, TO US [entire nation] belongs the SHAME OF FACE, to OUR KINGS, to OUR PRINCES and to OUR FOREFATHERS, because WE [entire nation] HAVE SINNED against you...WE [entire nation] HAVE NOT OBEYED the voice of Jehovah our God by walking in his laws that he set before us by the hand of his servants the prophets. And ALL THOSE OF ISRAEL HAVE OVERSTEPPED your law, and there has been a turning aside by not obeying your voice, so that you poured out UPON US [entire nation] the curse and the sworn oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of the true God, for WE [entire nation] HAVE SINNED against him." (Daniel 9:8-11)

Daniel was humble, unlike you. Daniel included himself in the "sinning" process of the nation by saying: "We have sinned..."

He included himself, "You Know", in the "sinning". Have you? No because you DO NOT understand it. But God will be there, to remind you.

Daniel kept saying, "We have sinned...We have transgressed." We, the nation, We, the people, the leaders. We, We, We. Not "you," "you," "you have sinned". Not "They, they, they have sinned."

Unlike you, Daniel said, "Our kings," "our Princes," and rightfully "all of Israel" have sinned, he acknowledged this fact. Daniel had some "sense". He kept his "wit" about him during the whole affair.

Not, what you keep saying, things like:

"those clowns at at Bethel have sinned."

Daniel was a spiritual man who could "examine all things". He was nothing like you. (1 Corinthians 2:15)

You are a fool who understands nothing about Jehovah, "You Know".

And the United Nations Organization needed to have PERMISSION to use this article. Permission from the WTS. And they got it. This article has been archived for all to see, as an eternal monument of support to the United Nations Organization by the WTS. An event that cannot be erased by the passing of time. The entire Governing Body was in on it. No question.

"Therefore you are INEXCUSABLE, O man, whoever you are, if you judge; for in the thing in which you judge another (Catholic Church), you condemn yourself, inasmuch as you that judge PRACTICE THE SAME THINGS (WTS Secret NGO for United Nations for 10 years)...But do you have this idea, O man, while you judge those who practice such things and yet YOU DO THEM, that you will escape the judgment of God?" (Romans 2:1-3)

Will you or your highly hypocritical organization, "escape the judgment of God," You Know?

Hardly.

Thus, ALL the wicked, must be "judged", You Know. No one escapes.

But to the wicked one [WTS & You Know] God will have to say, "What right do you have to enumerate my regulations, And that you may bear my covenant in your mouth?" (Psalms 50:16)

God says, You and your filthy organization, have no "right" to judge anyone, anymore. Your "judging-of-others" days are over, You Know, God has said.

I have every right to use the Bible. The same right you possess when you carry your worthless "rag-magazine" to the people in the door-to-door work. Disturbing the whole neighborhood, by selling your filthy, hypocritical literature to them. As it were, barking up every tree you come to, like a dog.

But all of that will be short-lived. Your religion is going no where. Because of the internet. More Internet (in more countries) means no JW growth. Its just a matter of time. (The Mormons have already doubled you in size.) Your annual growth figures are truly pathetic.

I said the WTS was "from the Devil". But the thought really doesn't pose a problem for me. You see, it was Jesus himself who said the "Pharisees" were to quote, "from the Devil". And yet, this same Jesus also said the "kingdom of God" would be stripped from these same wicked Satanic Pharisees, and given to a "nation" that would "bear the fruit" God desired. Is that such a paradox to you? Was Israel God's Organization or the Devil's. Which?

You are nothing like Jesus, the one who said of the spiritually "lost" from His fold,

"Likewise it is not a desirable thing with my Father who is in heaven for ONE OF THESE LITTLE ONES TO PERISH." (Matthew 18:14)

These are former followers of Jesus. Lost sheep. He still loved them, searched for them. Jehovah still loved them.

Since you are NOT reading the scriptures I've mentioned, (I don't know why that doesn't surprise me) I'll quote Matthew 18:12-14 for you,

"What do you think? If a certain man comes to have a hundred sheep and one of them gets strayed, will he not leave the ninety-nine upon the mountains and set out on a search for the one that is straying? And if he happens to find it, I certainly tell you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that have not strayed. Likewise it is not a desirable thing with my Father who is in heaven for one of these little ones to perish."

You & the WTS are way out of line, with no scriptural backing.

Jesus was truly a "loving" person right down to the end. Even AFTER these "sheep" left the fold, and came to be considered, in a "lost" spiritual condition. Still, Jesus was loving to the end. Something you & the WTS wouldn't know any thing about.

For this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, "Here I am, I myself, and I will search for my sheep and care for them." (Ezekiel 34:11)

Love not hate, is the way of Jehovah. You do not "know Jehovah" at all. Rather, you are in need of someone to "teach" you, to "know Jehovah" still. (Hebrews 8:11)

In Paul's comment about weeping for such ones he apparently knew those who fell away---before they fell away. That's why he said he used to mention them often, when they were in the truth. But, once they left, then the weeping is not for the enemy, but for the person that left, before they became corrupt.

Of course, what you say above makes no sense at all.

Nonetheless, I never recall you saying any JW should "weep" for any ex-JW at any time, period. Before they left the organization, nor after. So, why don't you practice what you preach?

First, you tell your "anointed" brothers in New York to "repent". Have some "guts" for once in your life and stand up for what is right, the way Jesus did. At present, you are a "yellow-belly" coward in Jehovah's, Jesus' and Satan's eyes. The word "martyrdom" is not in your spiritual vocabulary at all. Here is someone brave,

"And they conquered him [Satan] because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their witnessing, and they did not love their souls even in the face of death." (Revelation 12:11)

First century Christians were brave, even thrown to the lions den. Died for their beliefs. You however on the other hand, in the face of the UN/GB Scandal, have a "yellow streak" running down the middle of your back, because you will not stand up to the WTS over this known practice of spiritual "adultery". You are afraid of them. So you willingly go along with 'their' spiritual adultery.

By doing this, you show out right "hatred" for your spiritual brothers and knowingly and willingly "bear sin along with them." Jesus would never take such a course. He instead, when before Pilate for his life, was willing to die for "the truth". (Lev. 19:17; John 18:37)

Instead, you hide from the brothers in your congregation, and attempt to salve your filthy "conscience" by sneaking to this discussion board and vociferously condemn the worthless "apostates", who surprisingly do not LACK the courage you do, to stand up against the wicked WTS. Yeah, you are real brave, you attack the "apostates" behind closed doors on the internet, when you know full well the real "apostates" are right there in front of you EVERYDAY at the kingdom hall as "elders", and those speaking to you using the printed "rag", right from Brooklyn (Patterson) Headquarters!

Why don't you "prophesy" to them? Why not speak out against "apostates" of the UN/GB affair? Why don't you become a "man interposing" for the people, if you are a real prophet?

"And the truth proves to be missing, and anyone turning away from badness is being despoiled. And Jehovah got to see, and it was bad in his eyes that there was no justice. And when he saw that there was NO MAN (standing up), he began to show himself astonished that there was NO ONE INTERPOSING..." (Isa. 59:15, 16; See also Proverbs 31:8,9.)

You are not a "prophet". And you are not a true "interposer" for the people, or for Jehovah. You are a straight-out loud-mouthed, yellow-belly coward!

A disgusting thing in God's sight. God has no use for the likes of someone like you.

I feel absolutely no pity for apostate ridiculers. Nor did any of Jehovah's prophets in the past. When Jehovah causes the hammer to fall the accursed children of the apostasy are going to get exactly what they deserve.

GOD'S VIEW OF APOSTATES:

"For there are many, I used to mention them often but now I mention them also WITH WEEPING, who are walking as the ENEMIES OF THE TORTURE STAKE of the Christ." (Philippians 3:18)

Why do you try to ignore this scripture? God's Word reveals these are former "Christians" who had become Christ's "ENEMIES"!

And yet, Paul both felt pity and shed tears over them. Something you and the WTS are opposed to doing!

LOVINGLY, Jehovah God,

"DOES NOT DESIRE ANY TO BE DESTROYED but desires ALL (everyone on earth including "apostates") to attain to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

Whereas, you and the WTS do not. (Your well-expressed attitude above shows this.)

You see "You Know", even though you don't realize it yet, you have the unscriptural, WTS/SATANIC viewpoint of "apostates".

And in your so doing, you do not reflect Jehovah & Jesus' Godly personality, as a true prophet should. You can only display a vicious, wicked form of "self-righteousness", which IS NOT "subject" to God's in any way. And that makes you "God's enemy". (Compare Romans 8:7 with Romans 10:2,3.)

You are definitely Watchtower-trained. You have the "Watchtower Mentality", and their "evil-inclinedness" is reflected well in your UNLOVING, copious writings. Since you are well-trained by them, you mimic their "whitewashed" form of wickedness well. You have become "just like" your heartless mentors, a real living, breathing modern-day "Pharisee" who always conveniently manages to overlook or "disregard the weightier matters of God's Law," like "MERCY". (Matthew 23:23, 24, 27, 28; Luke 6:40)

You are from the WTS, and the WTS is from Satan, which makes you from Satan too. When examined in the light of the scriptures, one can easily see the WTS' UNLOVING personality reflected in the evil they speak of about so-called "apostates", and others who oppose your religion's exposed wickedness. (Like the UN/GB Scandal! A subject you always wish to "brush off" as being of no real consequence.) And if someone stands up for what is right, these are the ones you brand as "apostates" in your worthless rag, the Watchtower magazine. So far, 6 million of your loathsome kind, have been infected by this wicked literature. Thus, both you and the WTS in the end, reflect only what you can reflect, not God's personality but the unloving "personality" of your master-teacher, your lying "father", Satan the Devil. (John 8:42-44)

However, when "put to the test" by scriptures like Philippians 3:18 and 2 Peter 3:9, the WTS and yourself are proven wicked, "bad men" in whom first century christians righteously, "could not bear". (1 John 4:1; Rev. 2:2)
