rebel8- No I haven't. I've heard of humanism but I haven't really looked into anything about it. I will give it a look.

I've been found out!
by pale.emperor inwell, thats it folks.. my identity on here has been rumbled and reported to the elders.
someone, somehow, has figured out that im a member of this site and - rather than speak to me - has promptly reported me to the elders.
i just feel sad for my daughter.

pale.emperor- I'm sorry and congrats all at once. Rip that JW personality off like a bandaid lol When i was in my hubs set his foot down about my daughter being baptized. He said he had no problem with me raising her that way and taking her to meetings and conventions. But he said absolutely not on baptism until she was at LEAST 18 and could make an adult decision. Maybe you can approach it that way. He was nice about it and very respectful and it worked for us. But about 5 yrs after that I left the JWs so it doesnt matter now.

cofty- Yes, I agree with you. Information is what makes the thought of a god very far fetched.
ToesUp- Trust is really a hard thing for me too. Being raised in a complete lie will really kill your ability to trust anything, especially religion.

Has anyone else felt like they should believe something after leaving WT? I am an agnostic atheist and its so so hard for me to believe in a god or higher power. It just doesn't make sense. But sometimes I feel like maybe I am just being stubborn and there might be something out there. I can't be the only person who deals with this. If you do believe, how did you get there and why? If you don't, why don't you? I don't mean to pry, I just don't really have anyone in my situation to talk to lol my whole family is JW :)

Ex JWs and those who are shunned (or will be after the convention) don't need help in a way that money can fix it. We need our family. Money doesn't help mend that hole in your life. I personally think go fund me pages are tacky unless its for a victim of disease or some sort of disaster. There is plenty of assistance for those who need shelter and food and in some places like where i live they have help with utility bills if needed. Just my two cents tho. I'm a wee bit prideful and I don't like to ask people for anything.

Should I stay married to my JW wife
by gatorguy inme and my wife were at the beach the other day and i finally told her, i don't think i believe in god anymore.
i fessed up to the fact that it started with me doubting some jw beliefs and then it just led me to this point where i don't even believe in god.
i wouldn't say that i even have a negative view towards jw's or religion in general.

For me it was opposite. I was JW and my hubs was not and never had been. Hes an atheist. He never pushed his thoughts on me. He would let me talk and then let me come to my own conclusion. We have two children currently and one on the way. It worked out fine for us to have kids. He wasnt big on holidays and birthdays anyhow so it never really was an issue for me to raise the kids JW. He did put his foot down about baptism. That was off limits until they were 18. And medical issues as well. His way of approaching it worked for me. He would drop subtle hints but never really forced anything. Finally, I came to the conclusion it was nonsense, am now atheist and we celebrated our first holidays in 2015 just because lol. Halloween being our very first. It all depends on how hardcore your wife is and how you want your kids to be raised. I see no reason to leave if you love her and she makes you happy. She may be considering what you said and feel like waiting to have kids bc she has doubts too. Do Not throw kids into a stressful mix though.

EXPOSED: JWS TRAWL DEATH NOTICES TO TARGET GRIEVING RELATIVES
by steve2 inthe leading metropolitan newspaper in new zealand, the dominion-post, yesterday front-paged confirmation that jws target grieving persons by trawling through obituaries for names of relatives and - unbelievably - even visiting cemeteries to approach persons tending graves (the article cites a recent watchtower that presented the experience of a sister who did just that).. an ex-jw elder and his wife (both unknown to me) were featured in the article after approaching the newspaper in response to a local elder's denial last week that witnesses deliberately obtain relatives' names from obituaries.. this is the third featured article in just over one week - and, to date, the most prominent.. of interest a "senior" elder from the sydney, australia bethel (which now has oversight over jws in new zealand) is quoted as not denying it happens - but tried to put a less damning spin on it by stating it was something that was up to individual witnesses and is not expected.

Let's Get Physical
by Funchback inrap, earth, wind and fire, 'let's get physical'.... types of music, performers and songs i wasn't allowed to listen to as a person in the jw corporation.. i remember jane, a self-appointed annointed, counseled me because i was an 11-year-old boy singing 'let's get physical' after a meeting.
i remember watching the video simply believing it was about exercise...lol!
but holy roller jane just had to try to ruin it for me, causing me to ponder, 'what else could it mean?'.
