  my mother became a witness right after i was born.

  1951. i was indoctrinated from that time forward for 50 yrs.

  during that time i did not hear anything about the 2 witness rule as applied to child molestation.

  i have a lot of stories about elders, some funny, some not so.. were all your experiences with elders bad?.

  I had different ones who were the more aggressive ones come after me for not doing what I was supposed to do. Not going to as many meetings and service. I had a few hobbies some did not like. I asked a lot of questions and that made some mad. Then when I asked a few too many questions as the internet came out and shined a light on them they really came after me for being an apostate. I would never talk to more than one elder at a time. That way they could not use the two witness rule. That really peed them off. Just before I moved they were coming round in two's every six months or so. I would say things like I heard someone say this or that about the witnesses. I never said I think this or that. That way it was me just hearing things. They knew what I was doing and one of the last visits they came out and said you know why we are here why don't you just ask us to disfellowship you. I just laughed and said that is your job not mine.

  Don't destroy old books, they have value. You are doing the work for the society. Many older books and other items have value in that they are proof that the society lies cheats and changes things to fix bad predictions. Try to find a 1934 year book for under a hundred bucks. You may but its not very easy.

  When I can I buy from a list I have made of things I am on the watch for. My 1984 BV has pictures on the front of one of the magazines that show a lot of old anointed and the caption is if I remember right the generation that will not pass away and they are all long dead now.

  J.W's and " but that is Pagan !".

  there have been a number of threads touching on this before, leolaia for one, back in the day when we had many an erudite poster, showed the pagan origins of many things, including the passover , and by extension, the jw " memorial".. what prompted my thought on this was a conversation i had the other day with a young lady, never a jw, who said the jw stance on birthday celebrations, was groundless and cruel.. i thought later that jw's do a " pick and mix " as usual, as they do with so many other things, on what they condemn as "pagan" and what they accept and practice.. the institution of marriage itself is pagan, marriages were performed long before the bible was written, and long before the nation of israel was formed.

  yet jw's perform marriages, use the veil, and the ring, all pagan.

  the names of the days of the week, the months of the year, all pagan.. i guess you guys can think of many more things ?

  My personal peeve is Bill Nye the not reall a science guy. He is not a scientist but a engineer who is gay and talks like he is an authority on everything while reading from a script.
