[quote] dr applewhite acknowledged that her report did not identify the basis on which she had formed her opinions.657 she accepted that her report failed to identify the ‘current standards’ of other religious organisations658 or which ‘religious organisations’ she referred to in writing her report.659 dr applewhite told the royal commission that her understanding of material provided to parents and families about sexual development in children by other faith-based organisations was ‘anecdotal’.660.

  dr applewhite accepted that it would be difficult for the royal commission to accept the opinions expressed in paragraphs 36, 45, and 46 of her report because her report did not identify the basis on which those opinions were formed.661.

  we do not consider that dr applewhite’s report and the opinions expressed therein assist the royal commission in its inquiry for the following reasons:.

  thanksgiving is really just a nice, traditional, family-oriented day set aside on a national level.

  As we don't have thanksgiving down South Africa way where I am ....what would be the sanction you could receive from JW were you to celebrate Thanksgiving ?

  What "reasons" would they cite for why you should not be celebrating?

  To my mind it is a time that should be grabbed with both hands to have the family and friends together.

  [Fortunately I am not a big fan of Turkey.............................then again......when have I ever eaten the bird??]

  Depression, Anger and Anxiety

  for the last few months, i feel like i've been going through the 5 stages of grief.

  lately, it's been happening simultaneously.

  in my other posts, i've expressed anger at my family and congregation for their thoughtless ways.

  When I was in the throes of deep dark clinical depression back in 2010 [30 months of hell] someone who was Buddhist spoke to me one day and told me to reflect on my life as with the Seasons.....and that I was at that moment in a Winter period of life ......After Winter comes Spring.....

  So your life is "moving" but the time frames can appear to be so painfully long -

  Of course seeking out professional assistance should not be discounted - I only came "right' when I combined the psychological therapies and interventions with going onto an SNRI medication [Venlafaxine] which I am still taking. Of course each one's therapy is not the same - so you must inform yourself to the fullest extent possible. Don't explore the internet over-much for therapies etc as it is filled with a lot of negative information and can mislead you too.

  Coming out of the cult was one of the most releasing events and the positives of having done that was attested to my the Psych. as well .

  With my whole family out now we are travelling in a glorious Spring of life [despite Cancer having visited my wife in this time too !]

  JW TV - Britain Branch Report

  although it is titled as "britain branch report" it's not much of a report.

  it only goes for just over 6 minutes and half of it is some 'wild talk' about romeo and juliette, i say wild talk because it has nothing to do with the british branch and if there was any point to it, it's lost on me.. anyway, about the only thing said that is of any importance was this (at the 2.20 mark) -.

  "the governing body, very kindly, have given us permission to continue construction once we have reviewed the scope of the building so we hope to be underway very soon".
