I never really believed in any of the infomercials and I would nitpicking all the different scenarios that it wont be useful or wont work. I just know that these are a marketing strategy, a gimmick , click bait if you like, and you are a few pounds/dollars shorter. Also did not have the money just to throw away just to try something. If it is not broken no need to fix it, right!

several times while driving alone i started singing one of them, and then i get to an offensive lyric which jolts me 'awake', and i say something to myself like 'no!

I am surprised to learn that so many of you do ! For me nope,nada,niet ! I dont know why that is .Perhaps my brains just cleared out all of that clutter, switched off all of that BS.
Now if I ever have to amidst jdumbs and singing, I will be definitely lost...without words !Thouhg I am happy about this!

Jehovah's Witnesses Came to My Neighborhood
by Juan Viejo2 infor nearly two years i have not seen any jehovah's witnesses going door to door in my neighborhood.
that was not the case when my wife and i first moved here (north central oregon).
in fact, our neighborhood was visited at least once every 4 to 5 months - even in the coldest winter months.

DesirousOfChange: I know that recording things is like a two edged sword...kills both ways.As much as it is a protection, it also leaves one a victim relying on the circumstances. So far i have seen the benefits of it and I am glad that I have the app.It has helped me out of pickles with Boe's when they have lied to me, or try to frame me wrongfully. Anything otherwise ,I have yet to wait n see.
All in a days work n all that!

yesterday i asked an elder because the sister teaching me didn't want to ask for me, so i asked the elder if me wearing the head covering would stop me getting baptized in the future, and the elder said basically i would have to make a choice and as time went on i would see what is the right thing to do.
In my opinion/experience this is generally what they do to new ones who are having a Bible study so as not to scare you away. Why is it so difficult ot give you a straight forward answer? You did not ask a very difficult question! Also why would the sister not want to ask the elder the question for you? Did she give you any reasons at all?
the watchtower seems to have a lot of power over the congregation and just getting this simple question answerd there is proving difficult.
If getting a simple question answered is so difficult , can you imagine how much more difficult it is going to be if you asked really serious questions; questions that have a very high impact on you and your kids life?
You also mentioned that your daughter has differing views and because of that you wont be able to talk with her (if I understood you correctly), do you know about shunning that the jw's follow? That is heart-breaking, life wrecking!
The bible says in Proverbs 27:12 A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.
Do tonnes of research because this is your life

Steve2: But isn't it a little premature to call it a success? I couldn't tell from your intriguing post the number of times they have returned.
As my post stated, I have been trying to wake them up for over 8 months now.So they have been coming back quite a bit .When they come back, they bring research that they have doe on topics by way of a reply to my statements at their last visit. So I know they are listening and changing /opening their minds to other info outside of the cult. Their demeanor during this period has been changing and they are becoming more open to conversing things with me now than before when I started. Whenever I notice a right time to mention stuff, I have done so but never with a view to 'teaching them,insisting and proving that I am right'. A person has to prove to themselves what they want to believe in.One can take a horse to the water, not make 'em drink it.
