  what is the benefit of god's kingdom?.

  the watchtower said when it started out in 1879 that god's kingdom had already arrived in heaven in 1874 and that its work would be complete by 1914. .

  with heroic slogans of "destroying the kings of the earth" and "all enemies of christ the king" etc by 1914, "god fearing" humankind was to have been restored to prelapsarian innocence and the earth to a global edenic paradise.

  I say, it keeps people hooked, latched, handcuffed into donating to this religion for want of a better future/hope! It fills up the coffers!

  while we all know the importance of attending christian meetings and participating in the public ministry, if you are sick, it is best to stay home to avoid infecting others.

  Double-tongued standards again: a comment made by a jw.Notice the obedience to governments mandate but when it comes to protecting children for paedos,and reporting to the police "no sir we cover-it-up"

  "No. the bethelites come and go. Just no Gilead Graduation nor tourists. There will be no touring at this point for whatever time they seem reasonable or deemed. They are paying close attention to the news and ready to obey any government mandate to secure safety of the citizens".

  Follow Government Recommendations and Directives. Local authorities often implement precautions or restrictions for public health. It is good to keep informed and comply with the government’s directives.

  @Stanlivedeath: I like the idea. Please can you make it a Large bottle of Macallan's and I be the first to hold the bottle.(I can drink it at my leisure since not supposed to pass around coz of the virus). Best memorial ever!

  Jehovah's Witnesses have agreed to close their places of worship in the Corredor del Henares and its Congress Hall, located in the Madrid town of Ajalvir, as a preventive measure against the spread of coronavirus.

    In a statement, the group reports that they have proceeded to close their places of worship in Torrejón de Ardoz, Alcalá de Henares, Ajalvir, Algete, Coslada and San Fernando.

  The measures will affect a total of 28 congregations and some 2,100 faithful from these locations. They will also keep their Kingdom Hall closed in front of the Ajalvir national headquarters,

    Similarly, visits to the national headquarters of Ajalvir have been restricted and the four exhibitions that have been open to the public and HEIs in the area that have been interested in visiting them have been closed until further notice.

  During the duration of this health crisis, the activity of the church will be through the Internet."

  Just wondered if this could just be the subtle start of being web based religion soon, or a trial to see what donations come in from these areas; giving them an idea od what to expect if they do go internet based alone

  i was thinking about this at work the other day, and realized the one positive thing i can truly credit the jws with: .

  i have no fear of public speaking.

  i was a shy kid, fat, clumsy, with crooked glasses and worse teeth, who wore hand-me-downs in one of the wealthiest counties in all of america, who sat still while classmates got up to salute the flag or recite the pledge of allegiance.
