You're pretty confident for someone who doesn't have a clue.
You believe what Nick Lane says about "aliens" but if someone with a belief system that is "alien" to you shows up, your prejudice blinds you to even considering what they share.
The energy that motivates me is hidden from you because you have preconceived notions and you choose to stay in the dark. There is an entire universe right in front of you but you choose to ignore it.
The higher "alien" life and "source of energy" that Nick Lane talks about is someone you already know by name, Cofty. His name is Jehovah. You already know Him. You already know about the angels. You know more than Nick Lane, but you just tossed it away because it's not in a "science" package.
If someone came to you and interspersed a bunch of fancy science vocab and wore a white lab coat and acted all super-smarty-pants you would believe them, but you won't believe someone who is low.
If an alien showed up in ugly skin with a creepy face and told you about the secrets of the universe, would you believe them? What if that "alien" was another imperfect human?
You're so funny. It doesn't matter who Jehovah sends, you won't listen.

Food at the Proper Time
by Alpaca inya' know....as i listen to the great music of my youth from the 60s & 70s ... i've reached the inescapable conclusion that the "food at the proper time" came from simon & garfunkel, the grateful dead, jimi hendrix, led zeppelin, pete seeger, bob dylan, hot tuna, steve winwood and hundreds of other incredible musical philosophers!!!
i can honestly say that my life has been enriched.. i am barreling toward 70 years on this planet and i still get goose bumps listening to the music & lyrics that perfectly capture life's eternal truths.
at that time in my life i had "one foot in the world" spent a lot of time listening to that classic music with "worldly" friends who were there for me when i finally walked out of the fog of dubdom in the late 1990's.

πSo many "worldly" musicians understand aspects of truth better than the so-called "FD$". I'm grateful too for the way so many musicians have been willing to reflect light and truth from their hearts through music.

I love the treasures expressed in this song...

"By the way I'm still waiting to hear the title of even one single book that presents the evidence for evolution that you have actually read."
There isn't one book ever written that presents evidence for evolution. They're all full of crap.
There are JWs who have read dozens of books about the false 1914 doctrine and can quote them and preach them. There are JWs who have read more magazine articles on the so-called "FD$" and can "splane" it all day long. They're wrong and so are you.
I'm not going to debate fake stuff. I'm not fancy and I don't use high-sounding language to try to be a science Pharisee with what amounts to the equivalent of longer fringe or more fake pious-sounding hypocritical public prayers. I've been there and done that.
You want to embarrass yourself by doing the Splane thing, carry on with your charts and pointer stick. You have a crowd of followers. Enjoy your pit before it gets filled in.

"I am not doubting your studies in anthropology. I don't know the syllabus of your course but you have demonstrated your total ignorance of biological evolution."
Cofty, I am not doubting your sincerity, but you have demonstrated your total ignorance of the teachings of so-called "biological evolution".
Biological anthropology is the study of so-called "biological evolution" of humans. It includes examining the replicas of so-called "hominid" fossils in the lab setting.
I got an "A" in the class. I read the books. I did the lab work. I learned and quoted the theories. I know what biological evolution is. It's fake, just like your claims that you know what you are talking about.
I like you, Cofty, but you don't know what you are talking about. You cut and paste articles and learn the "vocab" but you don't know anything about "biological evolution". It's make believe, just like those guys like Splane who have the make believe overlapping generations crap. It's fake.
Splane splanes things. He's an "expert" in overlapping generations, but it's fake. He can "splane" it all he wants, but it's not real. It's the same with the biological evolution teachings. It's fake, Cofty. You can "splane" it all you want, but it's not real.
If a person becomes an expert in the JWBorg 1914 teaching, they can teach others about it. They can publish it in magazines and books and videos. They can become a missionary and a Gilead instructor, but they're just passing on false information when they teach about the JWBorg 1914 thing. It's the same with biological evolution teaching. It's published in a lot of places. A lot of people "believe" it, but it's not true.
I am telling you this knowing that it's just like telling a JWBorger that Jesus didn't take the throne in 1914. You won't listen until you're ready to open your eyes. You don't want to believe you've been lied to, that the people you trusted in the "science" field could tell lies or publish untruths.
When you wake up, then we can talk about it some more. Until then, I hope you have a nice day.π

Oh, Phizzy, I don't know that I "deserve" anything - even though I'm not a "troll" I know I can act contrary to what is socially expected at times and I apologize if I come across harshly when exposing untruths sometimes. I don't mean to offend. I just don't always know the best way to express things. Thank you for being kind and patient with me.πππ·

Phizzy said: "I suspect this Troll knows the Truth."
I am not a troll, Phizzy, but I do know the truth.
You made some comments about "old lazy ones" and "young ones" - I don't know what that comment was about. I'll be 46 soon. I became a JW at 24. Prior to that I'd done the college campus life and associated activities. I know how to do research and I'm not attached to my phone. I've been disfellowshipped over a year and it's nice to have my eyes opened to the hypocrisy in the JWBorg, but I can see quite clearly how so many leave the JWBorg and get sucked in to the hypocrisy in the "science" teachings. You go from one cult to the other.
I got out of the "science" cult when I was 24. I saw the hypocrisy in it then. You are willing to tell people the truth about the bad things going on in the JWBorg, and when you do that, some people still in call you "an apostate" or "a heretic" even though they are the ones who are blinded.
It's the same thing here with this issue. You can call me the equivalent of "an apostate" to the evolution teaching or "a heretic" when I tell you the truth about how evolutionary theorists are lying to you. But it's just like I'm talking to the wall, the same as when you try to open the eyes of an indoctrinated JW who doesn't want to let go of the FD$ teaching.
You'll wake up someday, and you'll know I told you the truth because I do love you. And I'm not the only one. Jehovah loves you too, even though you keep ignoring Him.

Oh, you make me laugh so much!π
So on the other thread we were talking about evolution. I had already shared with you a screenshot of my transcript, which showed both that I am a woman, and that I have a degree in anthropology/archaeology.
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/4652297393537024/critique-chemical-evolution
After that, you said this:
"I will ask you the same question I have asked literally dozens of creationists on this forum - without one honest reply!
What books that present the scientific case for biological evolution have you read?I predict you will either not reply or obfuscate or lie. So far I have never been wrong about this."
The fact that you have supposedly read all the literature linked to this thread and yet you don't even know that biological anthropologists are the hominid evolution theorists tells me who really is the ignorant one here and who also has poor reading comprehension.
After me telling you that I am anthro major, that you would even ask me "what books that present the scientific case for biological evolution have you read" and then that you said: "Why should anybody take you seriously when you have not read a single word of the evidence that you arrogantly dismiss?" because you didn't even know what an anthropologist is and what they study lets me know that you are more blind than I thought.
Also, I am not a man, I am a woman. If you can't tell the difference in that, it's not surprising you can't tell the difference between a troll and someone who is telling the truth. I have spoken with several people on here either on the phone or Zoom or fb messenger and they know I am who I say I am.
I feel bad for you, playing around in your world of make believe and putting on airs, acting like high-in-the-sky intellectual bullies when you don't even know you're in the mud. The words you throw at me as attempted insults just expose your own motives and state, words like "arrogant" and "ignorant". Oh, well. You've just allowed any honest hearted ones here to see what you are really "selling" and why. Just like the BOEs who want to lord it over others with misinformation, pretending to know more than everybody else, some kind of superiority complex issue. Whatever.
You said: "I have never been wrong about this."
Cofty - you are wrong, honey. About many, many things, you are wrong.
One thing you are not wrong about, though, is your love for justice. I hope you turn around from this ridiculous evolution thing because other than your attachment to it, I think you're pretty cool.π

Some quotes from "Dr" Nick Laneπ...
from https://cordis.europa.eu/article/id/32724-energy-vital-to-evolution-of-complex-life (for a laugh...)
"Scientists have long believed that the evolution of nucleus was the key to complex life. However, Dr Nick Lane from University College London (UCL) in the UK and Dr William Martin from the University of DΓΌsseldorf in Germany, believe instead that mitochondria played a crucial role in the development of complex innovations like the nucleus because of their function as power stations in the cell.
"'The underlying principles are universal,' said Dr Lane from UCL's Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment. 'Energy is vital, even in the realm of evolutionary inventions. Even aliens will need mitochondria.'"
Ah, even aliens. Nice! π
"According to Dr Lane, their discovery 'overturns the traditional view that the jump to complex eukaryotic cells simply required the right kinds of mutations', nothing that the evolution from simple prokaryotes, such as bacteria, 'actually required a kind of industrial revolution in terms of energy production'.
"Dr Lane explained that at the level of our cells, humans have far more in common with mushrooms, magnolias and marigolds than with bacteria because we share complex cells with specialised compartments including an information centre, the nucleus, and mitochondria. These eukaryotes all share a common ancestor that emerged just once in 4 billion years of evolution.""
There you have it, folks. "Dr" Nick Lane thinks he's related to mushrooms!
π€£π€£π€£
Okay, and now you can go read one of his books because he's really really smart and obviously knows more than anyone else here about the origin of life.π€π...Okay, maybe not. But if you want to laugh, you can read what he wrote and all the other comedians who like to write sci-fi under the guise of "evolutionary theory". There is a whole list that Cofty provided, so the laughs can keep you going for hours and hours.π
(Funny how people will believe in aliens but won't believe in God... As if the other life forms out there couldn't be higher? As if the other life forms couldn't initiate the writing of a book like the Bible or have morality or give prophecy? He believes he has more in common with mushrooms than with Jehovah? Poor Nick Lane. Somebody ought to tell him he's looking in the wrong place for answers. Jehovah is the Source of all Dynamic Energy.)
