Acts 15:29 - "keep abstaining from blood"
by aqwsed12345 infor a christian, only the moral commandments of the old testament are binding (as they cannot change), but the various liturgical, social, and other so-called casuistic laws no longer apply to them.
this includes dietary habits, such as the prohibition of pork or fat, as well as the prohibition of blood.. take a look at the following verses: mt 15:11, mk 7:15-19, acts 11:7-9, 1 tim 4:3-5.. the jehovah's witnesses say that, yes, but in the acts of the apostles (15) the consumption of blood, idol meat, and strangled animals is also prohibited, meaning the new testament still forbids it.
for catholics, the council of florence settled this issue, stating that this apostolic regulation was only a temporary measure to facilitate agreement between jews and gentiles in the early church.

😆😁
ARTHUR: O Knights of Ni, we have brought you your shrubbery. May we go now?
HEAD KNIGHT: It is a good shrubbery. I like the laurels particularly,... but there is one small problem.
ARTHUR: What is that?
HEAD KNIGHT: We are now... no longer the Knights Who Say 'Ni'.
KNIGHTS OF NI: Ni! Shh!
HEAD KNIGHT: Shh! We are now the Knights Who Say 'Ecky-ecky-ecky-ecky-pikang-zoop-boing-goodem-zu-owly-zhiv'.
RANDOM: Ni!
HEAD KNIGHT: Therefore, we must give you a test.
ARTHUR: What is this test, O Knights of-- knights who till recently said 'ni'?
HEAD KNIGHT: Firstly, you must find... another shrubbery!
[dramatic chord]
ARTHUR: Not another shrubbery!
RANDOM: Ni!
HEAD KNIGHT: Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must place it here beside this shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get the two-level effect with a little path running down the middle.
KNIGHTS OF NI: A path! A path! A path! Ni! Shh! Knights of Ni! Ni! Ni! Shh! Shh!...
HEAD KNIGHT: Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must cut down the mightiest tree in the forest... with... a herring!
[dramatic chord]
KNIGHTS OF NI: A herring!
ARTHUR: We shall do no such thing!
HEAD KNIGHT: Oh, please!
ARTHUR: Cut down a tree with a herring? It can't be done
Funny, there are "red herrings" all over this thread, but not one has been able to cut down the basic clear command from God for Christians: "Abstain from blood."
Isaiah 40:8
"The green grass dries up,
The blossom withers,
But the word of our God endures forever.”

"As far as I know"

(Just goes to show how little you know.)
You have no clue what you are talking about, @SeaBreeze. You are making stuff up. I've very clearly expressed my faith in the ransom blood of the Christ. I am party to the new covenant, and I partake of the wine and the bread as evidence of that relationship with the Christ.
You are a slanderer, @SeaBreeze, and I have no desire to talk with you any more on this forum.

Hebrews 10:26-31
"For if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left, but there is a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a burning indignation that is going to consume those in opposition. Anyone who has disregarded the Law of Moses dies without compassion on the testimony of two or three. How much greater punishment do you think a person will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God and who has regarded as of ordinary value the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and who has outraged the spirit of undeserved kindness with contempt? For we know the One who said: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again: “Jehovah will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

Go ahead and drink your blood, @TD. Take your fractions. Whatever. Nobody's stopping you. But you can't say you weren't warned. I think it's nasty and God says it's an abomination, but you can do what you want, you have free will.
Acts 18:6
"But after they kept on opposing him and speaking abusively, he shook out his garments and said to them: “Let your blood be on your own heads. I am clean.""
@Vander, I am not going to argue with you about liver transplants.🙂
Taking in blood products in any form is wrong in God's eyes. When the blood comes out of the body, it needs to be disposed of. End of story.
"Abstain from blood."

Obvious OT Exception to the Two Witness "Rule"
by NotFormer inin the torah, where the need for sanctuary cities is being established, a hypothetical situation is described where a bloke is swinging an axe, and the axe head flies off and kills another bloke.
the dead man's brother is designated "the avenger" and pursues the original guy in order to kill him for being responsible for the death.
he is allowed to do so, if the original guy doesn't make it to a sanctuary city.

Two Witnesses
In context, Deuteronomy 17:2-7 is talking about the sin of false worship. No one could be put to death for false worship unless there were at least two witnesses.
In context, Numbers 35:30-32 is talking about the sin of murder. No one could be put to death as a murderer unless there were at least two witnesses.
In context, Deuteronomy 19:15-19 is not talking about sexual sins. It is talking about any other kind of sin between two men, like moving back a boundary marker or attacking another man (those are the sins talked about earlier in chapter 19).
When the Mosaic Law is talking about sexual sins, it always mentions "woman" or "daughter" or something like that specifically (like at Leviticus chapter 18; Deuteronomy 27; Deuteronomy 22:25-27), and they don't mention two witnesses.
The accounts that mention "two witnesses" being required to convict someone are not about sexual sins. WTBT$ does not have scriptural support for their "two witness" rule.

Here's another time that "two witnesses" were not needed in the OT...
Deuteronomy 22:25-27
"If, however, the man happened to meet the engaged girl in the field and the man overpowered her and lay down with her, the man who lay down with her is to die by himself, and you must do nothing to the girl. The girl has not committed a sin deserving of death. This case is the same as when a man attacks his fellow man and murders him. For he happened to meet her in the field, and the engaged girl screamed, but there was no one to rescue her."

I know that Barbara Anderson, Bill Bowen, and Mark O'Donnell have been brave and have looked out for the interests of abused victims of the WTBT$. I also know that there are countless others who have been brave and have looked out for the interests of abused victims of the WTBT$. I would just hate to see their hard work and progress lose ground because of unsubstantiated claims and threats.
Showing up at a KH and speaking abusively to a random elder is not being "brave". It's being foolish.
I hope Sherry and Salena get the comfort they need. I'm sorry they're suffering. I'm sure they've been through some kind of trauma. They are obviously disturbed individuals. But responding to abuse with abuse is not the way to take down the WT.

"Do you believe a doctor who told a patient to abstain from meat would be upset if he found out his patient later had a liver transplant?"
Well, it depends. I do not know the doctor in your illustration, or the patient, or the situation.
If the patient had Alpha-Gal syndrome and was allergic to certain proteins and if the liver transfusion was of the experimental kind such as discussed in one of the articles here, then, yes, I think the doctor would be upset if he found out the patient had a liver transplant.

"Jehovah's Witnesses sacrificing babies to Jehovah, do you feel that really happens, Sherry?..."
(Sherry gives no evidence.)
"It does, I have to agree with you. I'm not totally oblivious. I'm sure it does happen."
(Rick just said he's sure people sacrifice babies to Jehovah.)
"One of the other things, I think she might have the numbers right, but I'm not sure, but on that same tiktok video where she's talking about babies being sacrificed to Jehovah, she talks about a pedophile ring. That I have no problem with. I know it for a fact. I have a personal friend who was a personal friend with Watchtower. He's told me numerous times about..."
Anyway, I won't go into all of it. Here's the thing -
Just because we know something has gone on at other times, doesn't mean it's gone on in this particular circumstance.
We know rape happens. But Joseph wasn't guilty of rape just because rape happens.
It's never wise to repeat slander. If there is evidence, fine, but there was no evidence given here. Just puff. Puff isn't a good foundation for anything heavy.
If you read any of my other posts, you know I am not soft on WTBT$. That organization will be destroyed by the nations, I am confident of that. They will be destroyed for misrepresenting Jehovah, the God of truth and love. But so will everyone else who loves lies, as is figuratively depicted here...
"But as for the cowards and those without faith and those who are disgusting in their filth and murderers and the sexually immoral and those practicing spiritism and idolaters and all the liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This means the second death."
