multiple very serious allegations against tony and then huge efforts to remove him from all pictures and videos, have to admit it doesn’t look good.. once the pennsylvania investigation becomes public knowledge and front page news it will be very very hard for 8 million pimis.. is it possible that this could be the largest problem the branch has ever faced?

many will feel heartbroken and betrayed.

@DesirousOfChange, Yeah, I'm not a troll. I've been hoodwinked many times, and I have been hurt by a lot of pathological liars in the JWBorg, so I am a bit oversensitive if I suspect someone might be trying to pull one over on me. Sometimes I react too "loudly" now as a more recent learned defense mechanism (for a long time I didn't say anything at all, just got steamrolled). I know it's not the best quality, and I am working on it, but I'm slow. I apologize for seeming "troll-like". I don't mean to come across that way.

The fact that there would be "false prophets" implies that there would also be true prophets.

According to God, legally those religious organizations do have to be transparent about the donations, because God set the precedent in the Bible. He is honest. Any organization claiming to represent Him needs to be honest too.

Shunning in and of itself is a personal decision. The "crime" is that a group of men who fraudulently claim to represent God dictate who is "shun-worthy" to their misinformed followers. The GB of the CCJW do not follow what is written in the scriptures. They do not have authority from God to execute group ostracism judgments that according to the Bible should be personal decisions of individual Christians.

If the corporate structure of the JWBorg was taken down, then the disfellowshipping doctrine of the WTBT$ would end. There would be no centralized structure holding records of disfellowshipped individuals, no Bethel Service Department enforcing and encouraging bans, no Pharisaical writing group making up extra unscriptural rules. The ungodly authoritarian structure behind the enforcement of the disfellowshipping doctrine would be gone. People in local congregations would have to make up their own minds as to who they want to hang out with and who they want to shun independently of any corporate structure, which is the way the Bible is written anyway, with respect for the consciences of individual Christians to make up their own minds on who they will associate with.

The current governments express the desire to protect religious freedoms, not religious frauds. The fraudulence of the WTBT$ claiming to be Christ's judges has gone on long enough.

@BoogerMan, yes, so clear that the illustration Jesus gave about the faithful and discreet slave is about keeping on the watch. It is not about some "title" - it is about keeping on the watch.

@AnonyMous, I'm not sure what you are talking about. The Bible is clear that God sends prophets even today.

Amos 3:7

"For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing

Unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets."

Jeremiah 25:4

"And Jehovah sent all his servants the prophets to you, sending them again and again, but you would not listen or incline your ear to hear."

Jesus was a prophet. The parable in Matthew 24:45 that the WTBT$ likes to misapply is actually designed to encourage Christians to keep on the watch for the rest of the prophecies that Jesus foretold would happen. The great and awe-inspiring day of Jehovah is soon to begin, and Jehovah will continue to send His prophets to help the people get ready for what is to come.

Malachi 4:5,6

yes, i too have wondered how an assembly that is held in a fully paid for assembly hall, with no food service, could possibly have $10,000 in expenses.

i suppose the bethel speakers have transportation expenses - maybe $1000 or so.

Nope. My PIMQ relative got an email that the assembly was still going on. Here is a screenshot of another local JWBorger talking about the assembly today...

Over 90,000 people lost power in Maine. Many of the little old ladies who drove to the civic center for the assembly had to drive there from rural towns or the coast, and had to drive home possibly in places where there will be downed trees in the road or flooding. So much for the "shepherds" looking out for the "safety" of the sheep.
