For those who don't like so-called "obscenities," I think we should settle all of our differences with guns. The last person standing has the most friends.
LOL! However I would think the last person standing would have no friends.;)
looking at this board and the various kinds of thoughts, beliefs, maturity levels, insecurities, as well as an individuals time span on this board one main dilemma seems to keep popping up, that dilemma is freedom of expression verses the possible alienation of a new poster fresh out of the jw mindset.. the board wars (or being able to express a controversial and contrary opinion) and the use of colorful language (my personal favorite) seem to be jeopardized because of the concern of possibly loosing or offending an important new poster who we all have to agree means something to us all (we were all there once in our lives).
the dilemma seems to ride on personal freedoms of old and established poster who are not easily offended by controversial things and the sensitivity of those who are experiencing the real world for possibly the first time in their lives and have just made a dramatic life change.. i personally am very concerned about a new poster who is confused and looking for some answers, i think most of us are.
i completely understand simon's wishes to try and not offend them.

in a recent post by rado, he mentions a report on religious violence in georgia.
".....they filled the baptismal pool with diesel fuel.".
so i figured this probably happened once before, a long time ago, and was the reason for the ban on smoking.
As I recall it was directly associated with the release of the surgeon Generals report. And it was about that time also that it became a regulation that tobacco companies put the "warning" on all packs of cigarettes.
Calling it a sin to smoke is probably justifiable. Allowing it to be a disfelloshipping offense is not justifiable. IMO
There exists a ban on smoking in the state of Ca.
In many places it is against the law to even smoke in public. You would not be arrested. It is not a felony.
You will be sited and fined if the law in a particular area choses to enforce it.
People who smoke are shunned each and every day by others from all walks of life and all religions. Even verbally attacked. And worse.
It is fairly common.
SO.

this jw-whoever guy, has a right to speak his mind.
UNBELIEVEABLE!
Some people are simply starving to death for attention and want to DEMAND the whole world watch
Me for example.
I NEED to Get help.
WHY WHY WHY!!!! does noone understand me but me? I Demand to be a victim!
Please Lord I need to insult people. I can't help it. It's like air to breath for most, for me I need to CRY!
I am sick and tired of people not wanting to approve of my excessive use of the word F###. My forfathers died in battle just so I can say F### in anyones house I want to!
REDICULAS I SAY!
Its my RIGHT to say F### anywhere and to anyone and anytime I want and I will fight to preserve my right to say F###.
What else is there to live for if not to fight for the right to throw insults anywhere I want at my discression.
Its a worthy cause. I will go down fighting too. no one can tell me i can't tell them to F### OFF even if it IS their house!
I want to be a victim sooo bad I can't stand myself! OH PLEASE GOD SEND ME TO A WEB SITE< ANY WEBSITE WHERE I CAN CALL MYSELF A VICTIM! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!.
I can't get through the day unless I can complain and be a victim of something anything will do. I just need to be heard and argue about anything its what I live for.
OH, Sorry everyone. I'm typing to myself. This is directed to me and me only.

The reward for being a continues poster, reaching 250 posts and developing a tough skin by being out of the JW for a longer period of time is the right to play in big boy and big girl land. All the nice people can continue to post in the nice people section. All the bad boys and girls can post in the nice section if they want to be nice. If they don't want to post in the nice section and they reach 250 posts then they can post in the Farkel section with the rest of us cynical bastards.
LOL This is great however I would be left out of reading the good stuff It would incourage me to post my brains out to reach 251. The limit is 40 a day? I would be there in a week. Hmmm. well maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
Don't know not sure.
I like Priscas idea too.
i hate to see people get banned or silenced - even the people who are causing trouble.
when it comes to regulations, i could almost be described as libertarian.
because of this i would like to make a proposal - instead of leaving the banning power in the hands of a central authority, i propose that banning be placed in the hands of the individual.

Since you're obviously not done with it as you said you were, I'll coment.
You don't have to read it you know.
But Simon has granted public access to his 'property' much like a mall. Everything is owned by someone, even that which is open to the public.
Yes he has and that access includes accepting and agreeing to abide by his FEW requests. When you sign on and become a member you automatically agree to do that.
To agree to the conditions just so you can become a member for the purpose to disagree is fruitless.
Not to mention unreasonable .
If you owned the wall, you could do whatever you liked, within the laws of the land. Just because people object, doesn't mean their objections have any logical or rational basis
Things aren't that black and white and you know it. I could go on for ever with this back and forth of how this instance would make your past comment invalid and this instance makes my comment invalid but I'm just not that bothered.
Interesting.
Actually it sounds like this entire argument began and has continued because of the Black and White wants by those who believe they should be able to log onto Simons discussion forum and say what ever they want and without regard to anyone else only because they feel the right of freedom of speech is a Black and White issue.
I should be able to say F$$K anytime I want anywhere I want without any interference by anyone because its my right.
THAT is Black and White
Those asking for consideration are the ones that recognize this is not a Black and White issue.
So based on your above opinions, one should be able to walk into a public mall and take out a spray can and tag away?
After all, the mall IS there for public use.
And I would like to see you walk into any public mall, you pick the country, and begin shouting obscenities at the other people in the mall.
Why dont you put your own theory to the test rather then argue it here?
Go into a public mall and start cussing at people walking by because you just want to excersize your right of free speech. Go ahead.
And then after they escort you out, call a lawyer and file a lawsuit against the owners of all the shops in the public mall that pay to run their businesses in that mall.
Let us know how it turns out.
today i went out and actually bought 3 cd's!
(i'm not a great listener to music at the best of times) however, today i went into a music shop and picked up some cd's which contained music from my lost youth.

I would imagine the whole town heard it. Gee, I can almost hear it now

i spoke to my niece last night, who is getting a divorce.
her soon to be ex-husband told her it was announced that she is disassociated, recently.
news to all of us.
HORRIBLE? I'll make sure I stay away from you then. I know gossip is the most reliable resource for information
Especially when it's about other people.
