first of all i am glad to see that many of you have found your way to this great forum, facilitated by simon.

i am sure that after the dust of the jwr shutdown has settled, you will find this to be a good new home.. i would like to apologize for the sudden closure of jwr.

Hey Fugue, nice to see you here. You aren't the first person to offer to take the db and restart the site, it was offered by some of the other admins and mods but Rifter did not want the site to continue based off the old db.

thehotone4u2, frankly I don't answer to you or anyone else on any forum. Whether I was leaving or staying on JWR I agreed with Rifter that the site was well past its peak and had stagnated.

The childish attitude of "maybe he has been reinstated" or "getting a divorce?" are classic examples of the kind of retrograde horseshit that was prevalent on JWR and the way admins and mods were treated.

Signing off, grateful to those who used JWR to become healthy people.

Hi MM,

I understood your point of view and certainly didn't think you were wrong. I did think that Rifter's mind had been made up and there was no changing it.

Personally it was good timing for me as I'd been considering walking away a long time before that. I'm glad so many people made it here. Simon has been very welcoming, so kudos to him.

DS deserved better than he got on this topic, he worked hardest of all, in my opinion. I will hang around a few days to get a bit of closure around the movement of people from JWR.

To everyone: I agreed with Rifter that it was time to close JWR. I agreed that a long goodbye would be counterproductive and that it would open us to all kinds of abuse from certain elements of the membership. I agreed with the new closure page design and the shutdown timetable and lack of announcement.

This was not the position taken by DS, MM or Palimpsest, so please refrain from attacking them.
