This was my dad's from as long ago as I can remember until he passed. And the memories it holds are not all bad. No candy was stashed in there, but we could always rely on a pencil and writing tablet to doodle on. And the lock was way cool to play around with. He was a good man, a good father, and most importantly, he put his family's well being before the "Society's".

How Could We Have Been So Heartless?
by BluesBrother ini am addressing here those who, like me, spent decades in the organisation that we called “the truth”.
perhaps like me you were brought up in it from an early age.
looking back now i wonder that i could have been so heartless as to believe that the mass slaughter of billions of people was “good news”.

As a 3rd Gen I would have major issues with the JW idea that my non-believing Grandmother, cousins and friends at school would be destroyed. I don't think my parents understood how much I took in at the meetings, bought hook, line and sinker, and how much that teaching bothered me, but I was very close to my 1st Gen Grandmother and she would assure me that I did not have to worry because Jehovah knew their heart condition and only the truly wicked would be destroyed. I accepted it when she assured me of Jah's love.
Teenage life: I just went along to get along, not really paying much attention and ducking out of service and meeting attendance as much as humanly possible. (I guess I was "Sick" a lot on "It Takes a Thief" and "Here Come The Brides" nights. I did not mind the book study as much cause it was more social and low key.
As an adult, it really hit me how unloving their God "Jehovah" was and how God of the Old testament was all about punishment and death, while the New Testament was about love and the kingdom coming. And don't get me started on their "love among themselves" hypocrisy. It was after I had already distanced myself that I realized how screwed up their theology was.
So pleased I have move past all that crap and just try to be nice and non-judgemental.

COVID-19 won’t go away until Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton are in the Oval Office
by hoser init’s no secret that the mainstream media runs the show and that they can’t stand trump.
for good reason because trump has been demeaning to journalists on several occasions.. life lesson for donald trump: don’t make fun of people that have the power to destroy you!
nobody likes getting laughed at.. don’t get me wrong.

WTWizard "Besides, I can do something about the virus. Washing hands and being careful with exposure reduces my chances of catching it, while supplements increase my chances of it merely making me immune or resistant to it in the future. Try that with KILLary and Biden/The Lizard--under them, nothing works. Try stocking up on food--they will confiscate it. The same with silver. And political correctness will be the law--even worse than it already is. Which itself causes more misery than the virus ever could, even if you get a critical case."
Trump is at times a jerk and embarrassment and should not have access to a twitter account, but he is not a socialist or communist, and does not bow to foreign powers (physically or as a matter of policy). Until the Covid showed up the economy was improving, jobs were up for all demographics. B.
Is it a coincidence that, after utilizing every means, (impeachment, etc,) and opportunity, (2,000 miles caravans of well fed asylum seekers with new, expensive footwear, funded by "who knows" ), etc to upset this presidency, a serious virus comes about, knocking out the economy and follows-up with bankrolled Antifa and anti-white groups fueling widespread "civil unrest". The trigger was, of course, the murder by a cop of a black man. ALL politicians and media will not let "anything slide if it can used for their agenda". I am all for civil protest for change, but rioting is lawlessness.
I could write pages. Really! But while I do not have to agree with differing opinions, I do have to respect their right to have them. It is one of the most important aspects of a free society.
And when Trump wins in November, could Melania please lock him out of his twitter account. Or even now would be good.

A distinct lack of love ("you will know my people because, etc") was my initial home-hitting issue in my 30's. After the "love" in several different congregations in Southern California, Arizona and finally Utah, I could not believe this was the "truth". Lots of research since then.
This is my 1st post here, though I have been lurking off and on for at least 15 years. I am a born in 3rd gen. I somehow avoided baptism. As a teenager I just did not want to commit. I was hit, but mostly miss during my 20's and early 30's. Took a serious stab in my middle 30's; going in service, studying, even broaching baptism with an interview. Then the love thing smacked my in the face, and overnight I stopped any involvement, cold turkey. The distinct lack of love was my initial true waking issue. HALLELUJAH for that!
I'll post more of my history at another time
